Amazing restaurant! Food was so so yummy and beautifully displayed. Delicious, I enjoyed every bite. Crispy vegan duck w. rice on the side. The wonton soup was also delectable! My father and I each got a small order and I was surprised at how many wontons I received. It was so amazing to have tasty vegan Chinese food! I definitely will be recommending this place to everyone. The crispy vegan duck blew my mind. They should win an award for that dish, had me scratching my head, fantastic texture. Another interesting fact is they have a virtual hostess. Quite the novelty. And she was very lovely. I read some reviews of people saying it was odd. Seems economical to me, and my father and I thought it was cool. Can't wait to eat here again!

BS +++ Undeniably one of the hidden  gems of Queens for any vegetarian, vegan, or plant-base-curious people out there.  It's a fusion of buddhist (Chinese), Japanese, Asian influence as well as western (ie. burgers, sandwiches) First of all, it's such a cute establishment, and it might  seem like a take out spot, but you can actually sit there and eat. The ordering system is pretty unique since it's someone on a Zoom set-up.  Even payments are done that way as well.  There is a big TV and you order from there.  Before I comment on the food, I want to comment on our experience versus all the negative reviews.   The wait time: 0   Location: The place is clean.  We were greeted right away. Cooking time: 15 mins You guys have to understand that vegan food is not always premade, and the chef in the back is often faced with many factors.  Might not meet everyone's "fast food" expectations, but I like my food made the right way.  Some of the other complaints I see seem valid, but for us, we had a great time.... and now on to the food We ordered the following: Appetizer: Pepper and Salt Mushroom | Perfectly spiced and fried.  It was crunchy, and I wished we had rice with it.  But it was mind-blowing. Indian pancakes w/ curry sauce | The pancake was perfectly fried and was not stale.  The sauce I could have drank or put on rice and would have been happy. Combination platter (The Trifecta) |  The owner told us that she made the bbq sauce, and I honestly nearly fell backward from how good it tasted.  It was fresh seitan (roast pork like), Vege duck, and tofu skin.  All three together was enough to eat on its own.  I couldn't decide which one was the better tasting option.   Sushi | Avocado The avocado was super fresh, and the rice was nice, and it honestly made me remember real sushi.   King Mushroom roll | This one was my favorite.  The sauce was perfect, but the way it tasted was wow.  I was drooling while eating this. Main | Kung Bao Tofu | I asked for this to be extra spicy, and they did not disappoint.  It was such an amazing and simple dish that although I was feeling full, I couldn't stop eating it.  I definitely had fun eating this. Crispy Vege Duck | This dish made me wish I had extra rice. It's not even necessary to put the "duck" on the menu since it had a distinct taste, although we need to connect it with meat, and I get that. But this dish was superb.   This place reminds me of my home cooking, and it was nice to have the owner hang out with us for 30 mins or so just chatting with us.  I highly recommend this place to all my vegans, vegetarians, and the rest of NYC and tri-state.  This place deserves to be in the city with the way the owner puts so much "love" and "soul" in her food.  You can taste the passion, and it shows from her amazing smile.  You rarely see people do things they love, and no riches can buy that.    当你热爱你所做的事情时,你就永远不必工作。 谢谢你在所有饭菜中投入的魔力 I've been an elite yelper and google local reviewer, and you should trust me 100%  Boomsauce Scale: BW - basura (trash) BS - basic (come on! Try harder) BS + - better (Yo! That's better) BS ++ - best (alright! Alright! Alrightttt!) BS +++ - Amazing location! now that's boomsauce!

I'm not big on posting about things I don't like. But for me this was mainly inedible. I've been wanting to order from Amitabha for a long time. I got the bbq vege roast pork- I have no clue what that flavor is. But nothing like I've had elsewhere. Texture is odd too. This one made me sad. Was looking forward to it. It was also small for a "Large" but in general they give you a lot of food. Chicken lo mein was super spicy, And the oddest flavoring again. The braised tofu skin is fine, but not much flavor at all . Fried wontons... like an egg roll taste, not for me. Or maybe not what I expected. And I have never gotten burnt white rice from any place I have ordered from.

Used to come here all the time the days my husband is vegan but eventually had to stop because they kept messing up our order. So many times we had missing items such as rice, sauce and items. They kept blaming one of the workers but if this happens every time and not just to us and other customers as well don't you think they would've tried to fix the issue?

Fresh Meadows usually has good vegan/vegetarian restaurants, a little while back Quantum Leap closed its long time place nearby and recently one of Sri Chimoy's followers vegetarian outposts, Oneness Fountain Heart bit the dust (funny, I thought vegan/vegetarian food was supposed to help you live longer? haha). There was a need for healthy, delicious, well made vegan/vegetarian so enter Amitabha, which serves Chinese food vegan style (Seems they recently switched to all Vegan from Vegetarian) and I cannot be more happy with this place. I recently ordered delivery which came quickly by a Tesla (!) driving delivery person, but recently I placed a pick up online order (Their website is queensvegan.com). They send you text messages when your food is being prepared and lets you know when it is ready. It is obvious that Amitabha is teched out! So teched out that upon entering the restaurant they seem to be in full pandemic mode. a "voice from God" welcomes me over speakers - I look around puzzled as a couple of other customers laugh and direct me to an iPad/camera setup with a friendly hostess who informs me my order wasn't ready (it was past the 30-40 min estimate I received). I went outside and received a text when it hit 60 min (This place is popular!). You pick up your numbered order from a sectioned cage. Their food is incredible, nearly everything I had from here is perfectly seasoned, abundant and just so damn good. The BBQ roast vege pork, which my friend/fellow Yelper Chun called "sacrilegious" haha - I hear you, but this is better than many of the horrible real pork versions I've had else where. Try it and you might be surprised how much you like it. The roasted vege duck is the same - amazing how much it looks like sliced duck with skin, fat and meat layers. Even eating it coats your lips with delicious liquidly fat as if this was real duck. It is served on a bed of generous vegetables. The pepper and salt king mushroom app is ridiculously good. Salt and Pepper shrimp is a fav of mine and this nailed the flavors perfectly - perfect coating and seasoning. Amitabha's dish is one I can see myself craving. The one miss I must say is the General Tso's chicken - the vege meat had a weird texture and it tasted overcooked as is usually the case with General Tso in general so they nailed that aspect haha. The fried coating and sauce had a well made flavor though. The dry sautéed string bean is a great version - I notice a subtle fresh ginger note in the background over perfectly prepared string beans. Amitabha is a winning combo of reasonably priced, generous and deliciously prepared food. You can really taste the difference from my most restaurants/take out spots. I plan on being a regular here.

This isn't your traditional dine in restaurant. You walk in, order through a computer screen, and pay. You grab a table, sit, wait for food, and eat. Service doesn't really exist. I wonder if this set up is temporary for COVID. Besides this, I had a good experience with the food. Ordered the General Tso's Seitan and Sweet and Sour Tofu. Absolutely love the seitan as it was crispy and flavorful. The tofu could use a little bit more flavoring but the sauce is great and the I loved the veggies. Pricing is perfect. Great portion size and both entrees come with rice. I really admire this restaurant. The parents and their children are working hard to run the business and I really do love that. They are very hard working and this is a small business you must support!

The service is good they are so nice and accommodating. The food is amazing. Its a nice chill spot to sit down and eat.

Really wanted to like this place since it had good reviews and we wanted a healthier meal. Not sure how it was before pandemic but they have a person on the computer screen to help you with your order. At first, I thought it was so cool, but then realized that not having a person to man the front is a totally bad idea. My friend and I both called in for our order and we were both sitting there for an hour waiting for our food. Apparently, the Asian lady was yelling at the computer screen saying "big problem, lots of big problem". We were concerned and asked about our food, but they assured us the food was coming out. The lady on the screen wfh so she knew nothing of what was going on in the kitchen. We ordered the fake general Tso chicken, mock duck noodle soup, and the fake roasting pork but I didn't realized half my order was missing. I called to get a refund. The general Tso chicken was nasty and tasted like a sponge and the mock duck was noodle soup was super bland. I've been to vegan places before and have definitely tasted better quality food compared to this place. Definitely not returning. P.S. please put away your cash register. I feel like this place might get robbed one day despite all the cameras they have in the restaurant.

What a neighborhood GEM!! Kuku Korean was fantastic! Fresh, tasty food at reasonable prices!…read more We (6 of us) were in the neighborhood for a Valentine's Day celebration and searched Yelp for a good ethnic restaurant in the area. We came across Kuku Korean and said YESSS, this is the place to go! The only wrench in our plans was that Kuku Korean doesn't take reservations; not even on Valentine's Day! They warned us that they expected to be very busy that evening, and to expect a wait. Ok, we made plans to go, but also made a Resy with another restaurant close by, as a backup plan in case there was a long wait for a table. But really, Kuku Korean was our preferred first choice. After our V Day event, we rushed over to Kuku Korean to see what the wait time was for a table for 6. It was just after 6pm, and the stars were aligned for us, because we got the last large table available! Woo Hoooo! Happy Valentine's Day to us!! We quickly cancelled our Resy with the other restaurant (sorry!) and perused Kuku Korean's fabulous menu. Our MENU (shared by 6ppl): ~ Seafood Pajeon ($24/large): Crispy battered pancake made with green onions & seafood (mussels, clams, squid, and shrimp). This was phenomenal! So much seafood and such a comforting dish...get this! ~ Veg Japche ($21): Stir-fried Korean vermicelli with Kuku soy-garlic Japchae sauce and assorted veggies. This dish was also available with various proteins but we opted for Veg since we were ordering other meat dishes. This dish was so flavorful and delicious. ~ Kuku Bibimbap ($24): Seasoned vegetables over rice, topped with a fried egg. Served with Kuku spicy bibim sauce. Again, you have the option of adding protein to this dish but we kept it veg. Another great dish! ~ Pork Galbi ($28): Char-grilled Pork ribs marinated in Kuku sauce, served with sauteed onions. Served with kimachi, daily banchan & purple rice. The pork was cut in thick slices, which was surprising, but wow, this was phenomenal! So tasty and lean, and just delicious. ~ Beef Bulgogi ($33): Sauteed thinly sliced beef rib-eye marinated in Kuku sauce with mushroom, Served with kimachi, daily banchan & purple rice. Another phenomenal dish. Bursting with flavor. -- Spicy Squid ($28): Stir-fried squid in spicy Kuku gochujang sauce, onions, hot pepper and carrot. Served with kimachi, daily banchan & purple rice. This squid was prepared perfectly; not over cooked nor rubbery! Great dish. - Ban Chan: generous unlimited servings; fresh & delicious. These 6 dishes, plus Ban Chan was perfect for 6 ppl to share. We finished everything and were fully satisfied. Every single dish was delicious and we ALL said we wanted to return to Kuku Korean to repeat some dishes and try new dishes. Customer service and atmosphere were great. The busser staff did an amazing job and were even more attentive than our server (who we only saw twice)...kudos to the bussers! They were so hard working, with a smiling, friendly attitude! Give them a raise! Looking forward to a return visit to Kuku Korean...hopefully SOON!!
