The owner is so friendly and helpful and her passion for what she does and what she crafts is obvious from the first few minutes you enter. There's a variety of sourdough, breads, shortcake cookies, chocolate chip, ulu and oatmeal cookies, and of course, cupcakes galore! What I didn't realize is, she also has a whole bunch of homemade jams and jellies, and you can taste whichever variety you want. The jellies and jams were my absolute favorite. I bought a spicy mango chutney. She has drinks as well as homemade goodies in the refrigerated section. Mountain apple pie, homemade pesto, and even eggs that her chickens laid! Parking is down a lane off the street and you park right in front of her house/ store. A nice place to buy gifts, treat yo'self and support local.

I came across Cake Queen, and her gallery was exactly in line with what we wanted. I was in a bit of a time crunch and didn't hear back from her right away, and was super sad to have to go with someone else and hope for the best. We've done this in the past, and what was supposed to be a cute dinosaur cake was more of a comical representation instead. I then reached out to other small bakers, who quoted very low prices compared to Cake Queen's published price list, which made me a bit nervous because I know that what we were asking for takes considerable time and skill. Once I heard back from Cake Queen (in hindsight, it was actually a quick turnaround, it was just my procrastination that lead to me stress) I was elated, because I knew there would be no comical representation of what we wanted. Man, she did not disappoint! She exceeded our expectations! Her communication was stellar, sending pics as soon as she was finished and communicating about pick up and handling of the cake. Not only was it gorgeous, but delicious as well. It traveled just fine (even for my clumsy self) and was a major highlight of the day. I'll be reaching out to Sarah for all of our cake needs in the future and am grateful to have found her.

The parking lot was pretty empty on a weekday afternoon and there was only one person working. I really appreciated that they offered some snacks as well as their pretty extensive drink menu. There are so many boba places I would frequent more often if they also offered snacks. Uni offers cup noodle, freshly make bubble waffles, takoyaki and curry with rice! They even have combos that will save you a couple dollars if you get a milk tea with the food. Genius. I got the takoyaki and mixed fruit tea combo for $13. It doesn't sound like a deal, but I end up paying way more and wasting time going to two different stores when I want food and tea. The takoyaki was piping hot, piled with toppings and served in a little box that was really convenient for take out. The fruit tea was one of the better fruit teas I've had. I like that it had chunks of oranges and watermelon. The service was a little slow because there was only one worker, but she was really nice and trying her best. To my surprise, Michelle was there, just in case we showed up!.....like a true, dedicated, small business owner. We did not expect that by any means, considering the circumstances....but she went WAY out of her way when communication wasn't possible...her own house had some flooding, and she left all that just to show up "in case" we came by. For food, we had the Kalua Pig Hash ($20), three orders of The Basic ($48), Potato N Eggs ($20), three avocados ($15), a Fried Egg Sandwich ($16), two eggs ($5), and crispy bacon ($6). The subtotal came to $189, and with tax the total was $197.91 before tip. The food was decent and there were certainly things we enjoyed, but nothing really stood out enough to justify nearly $200 for breakfast.
