It's been a couple of years, but I came back for dinner. It wasn't too busy, but had regular traffic. The inside is small, not cozy, clean enough. The wait staff was readily available for us all the time, and friendly too. I ordered the steak nachos supreme, which I have to say were pretty good. The guac was tasty and the steak bits were plentiful. They used the typical queso, white cheese, very liquid on the hot plate. It covers things in a layer and tastes good. A friend and I were coming down from a hefty hike at Hanging Rock. We got to the intersection of E King St. and Mountain View Rd. And spotted its iconic small red building (absolutely charming). Just one look and you're curious... we walk inside. We had a German Shepherd with us. I walked in and asked if we could sit with our dog in the outdoor seating. Greeted with an enthusiastic, "Hey Amigo!" I was caught off guard but just knew immediately it was going to be a GOATED local spot. Outdoor seating was exceptional! Nice, cozy and simple - nothing more, nothing less. I ordered the Birria Taco dish. Plated perfectly, cooked to order, taste? Phenomenal simply. The beef was so tender, the consomé soaked perfectly and complemented not only the tacos, but the rice and beans served with it. Pure cinema. Service was fast. The guy that greeted me earlier? Yeah, he was serving too and he had everything locked in. What a guy! I imagine the back of house staff are all stellar people too - complements to the chef and team. You guys are awesome. The thing that did it for us was the small free dessert. I don't exactly know the name of it but... FREE? Perfect for the two of us real quick before we left. If you see this little gem on your map. We came to this place for some Mexican food and if you come don't judge it from the outside because it is small but cute. There is some outside seating but is was raining today so we ate inside. There are three booths on each side and a longer family style table in the middle. Chips and salsa came out and not too bad on both. I ordered the Mexican tacos which are street tacos served with a side of rice and beans, chopped onions and cilantro. The tortillas reminded me of something homemade I am not sure if they were. The steak was decent enough and good with the sides. After some tortilla with sugar, cinnamon and whip cream came out for no charge. It was good and service was nice. read more

Quaint little place in King for Mexican food. Small but comfortable and warm inside. Nice outdoor area to sit in as well. The staff was super friendly. I ordered the nachos with no meat, it had sauteed onions and bell peppers with lettuce and guac and sour cream on top and beans. They were good. My husband got three steak Mexican tacos. It came with the fixings on the side and rice and beans. Food could use a little more flavor. So three stars for the wonderful service and smiling faces. read more

Honestly, the restaurant isn't much on the eyes. It reminds me of the little hole in the wall Mexican restaurants my dad always insisted we visit as a kid, BUT from what I could tell it was pretty clean. The hot sauce bottles were a little greasy and could've been wiped down, but other than that this is a nice little mom n pop Mexican restaurant. It's cozy and you feel at home. We went during a pretty busy time for them, so things like the refills weren't kept up with heavily, but they never let our drinks get bone dry. Let me tell ya though, those little gals that were waitressing were working HARD. I was impressed with their work ethic alone. I got the Mexican street tacos with carne asada. The beef was flavorful, but it didn't include a sauce or sour cream so it was a little dry, but I really liked it nonetheless . My wife and sister LOVED their entrees. They bragged about them the entire time. Next time when we go back I'd really like to try a couple of their adult mixed drinks. Overall, it was a good experience. Keep in mind this is a little mom n pop restaurant so don't expect a super fancy dining experience. 3 years later they are still going strong. My family hikes on New Year's Day every year and we came to the same area as we did years ago. Immediately my kids ask about also coming back to this restaurant which we did and they delivered on all points again. Our waitress was a retired nurse who immediately treated us like family sitting at the dining room table. The food was hot and fresh and tasted great. I lean more towards the authentic dishes and this place has them and would encourage other to try them including the tongue. Looking forward to our next visit. read more

This place is a hidden gem that I stopped by on the way back home on a trip for business. Honesty, the building isn't the nicest but the food was great. I stopped in for lunch and got a few tacos. The waitress was super nice and helpful. The atmosphere is ok. Nothing special. My family along with many friends come here to eat however I have seen a couple of situations where I have seen Ricardo say some rude things to customers. We personally didn't really have an issue so we continued to go. Well that all changed when Ricardo we extremely rude to my wife and when she told him he was being rude and that she wasn't coming back he proceeded to curse and as she was pulling away he began to start yelling and cursing at her as she was pulling out. It's sad because the food is actually pretty good but Ricardo has no business working with public and running a restaurant. read more

AMAZING!!! My husband had Molcahete with chicken and steak and he proclaimed it delicious. He would come back just for that. We live 250 miles from here. I had fried pork tacos. The meat was perfect and all the things you want with it. Cilantro onion radishes and limes. I ate every bite. Chips and salsa freshly done. Best Mexican food I've had in a really long time. We have been to the drive through several times. Very nice people. I always ask for my taco salad to be drained before putting into the shell. I dislike a wet soggy bottom. They graciously do this and for me makes all difference. The taco salad could use more lettuce. I have asked other local Mexican restaurants and they just don't get it. Thank you Amigos! Amigos is my favorite Mexican restaurant, in King or the surrounding areas. It's nice to have a place with a drive-thru too, especially during the pandemic. The ONLY complaint I have is the customer service is a bit lacking. It's leaps & bounds better than what it was, but the owner could be more friendly. We wanted a fast quick meal so decided we would go here because they are close by. Upon pulling in we noticed a new outdoor seating area that was extremely nice. My wife got her usual ACP and I wanted something different. I seen the Molcajete Texas style with Green salsa. I have seen them before but never had one....... OMG, what I have been missing. It was the best thing I have ever eaten at any Mexican Restaurant ever!!!! This thing was huge! I ate and ate and maybe finished 20% of it. Definitely big enough for 2 people, if your both hungry. I placed an order and paid via grubhub and the driver only brought one of the two things. When I called the restaurant tp explain i even spoke to them in spanish since they dont understand English well. The man on the phone cursed at me when I told them I didn't get my full order. He denied that I ever placed an order on grubhub and he proceeded to tell me that the driver only paid 10 for my order which is inaccurate since I paid grubhub 50 dollars. Don't order from these people unless you want a terrible experience and someone cursing at your inappropriately. Stay away. Sad what customer service is turning into. NEVER AGAIN! My husband and I were out checking out different towns and exploring today when we happened across this place. I looked up reviews and all looked well. We went in and we seated ourselves and we sat there no one came up up us at all for the 15 minutes that we sat there. The waitress walked by us over and over again and said not a word to us. We got up and left I mean how exactly are you serving all these other tables and walking by us to not say a word. I will be completely honest. A month ago we swore we would NEVER try this place again. Everything from food to service was horrible. Our friend suggested we give them another try and said something had changed, so we did. Hands down the BEST Mexican food in King. We talked to the managers and they got a new wait staff and cooks. So so so much better. If you got the same service we did last month, throw away ALL those thoughts! Give them another shot! I can not say enough about how wonderful our experience was tonight! We talked to Ricardo the owner and he said he knew it was bad and called his mom who lives in Mexico for advice. She told him to shut the doors for a few days and get it together. There are a few Mexican restaurants in King, but none like this. This is the real deal. The menu is expansive and they have weekend specials that are beyond the pale. The place is kinda outta the way but well worth the trip. The food is home made and there is no hint of casa microwavo; one can see into the kitchen and see mom and dad making the food. I had the molcajete with green salsa; it was something I had never had and it was really good. The vegetables are really fresh and not over cooked; the chicken was tender and tasty. And, they are open at five am for breakfast. Don't think twice; follow my advice. You won't regret it. read more
