A friend recommended this spot and we were mildly skeptical since my husband is from San Diego and is very selective about Mexican food... and we were a long way from California and Mexico! We ordered nachos, quesadilla, carne asada, veggie tostadas and they were all amazing. The hot salsa was legit! Excited to return next time we are in Maui. Bartender was so friendly and accommodated our request for everything on the side (for the kids!)

Amigo's has opened in Napili Plaza. It's a strip mall style shopping center and there's a parking lot there including a few electric vehicle chargers in front of Amigo's. Stopped by late Sunday afternoon. They had football playing on the tvs but weren't too crowded. Our server, Regina, was very friendly and attentive. Food came out quick. I got the cheese enchiladas any my friend got a burger. Burger was stacked high with game, cheese, bacon, lettuce and tomato. Burger at a Mexican restaurant wouldn't be my pick but my friend enjoyed it. She even had 1/2 still left for leftovers that she took with her. Enchiladas hit the spot. It's nice to have another option for Mexican food on the west side.

I absolutely love Amigos. So this was a fun spur of the moment lunch take out order. Especially from a new location I haven't been to yet. Which I still need to plan a dine in visit in the future too. Until next time. XOXO, ChelsieFletcher

Excellent happy hour (3-6pm) and great food overall. Far better than the Mexican restaurant by the Times grocery store. Busy but minimal wait for a seat at the bar during happy hour, or a table weeknights. Definitely a new favorite on the west side of Maui!

Was craving Mexican Food after way too much Hawaiian food the past 4 days. Being from Southern California, it's hard to find comparable quality in Hawaii, but Amigos in Napili measures up. We shared a chili verde plate for lunch and texted of us barely finished it. Great chile flavor but had a little zing to it. Heat level was almost jalapeno level. Loved the rice as it was not garlicky tasting as some places tend to do. Refried beans with melted cheese on top was on point. Although the salsa looked less dense than what we're used to it still had very good flavor. Service was great and our waitress did a great job handling about 6 tables of by herself! Having negra modelo on tap was a nice bonus. Only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is the pricing is a little high for it not being on a resort property. Will definitely be back next time we're on the island.

Our first time here. We're visiting from California. A waiter at a nearby resort recommended this place. Food was good (especially chile verde). Service - not good. We were seated for at least 5 minutes before being acknowledged and the owner (I think) was about 20' from us, rolling silverware. Took another 5 minutes to get our drinks. Food came out fast. No warmth in service. Ambiance is typical Mexican restaurant.

Went here for dinner. Really good Mexican food. I was told the carne asada was good so I tried the California burrito. It was delicious. Hubby has the whole fried tilapia plate which was also very good. Could use a little seasoning in my opinion but cooked well. Good homemade salsa and hot fresh chips which to me says a lot about a Mexican restaurant. Also good Margaritas. Will go back for Brunch and happy hour which they have twice daily.

Fantastic experience all around. The michelada was absolutely on point--perfectly seasoned, refreshing, and balanced with great spice and citrus. Easily one of the best I've had. The chips and salsa were fresh and flavorful, with crisp chips and salsas that tasted vibrant and house-made. A great start to the meal. The breakfast chilaquiles with al pastor and salsa verde were the standout. The al pastor was tender and well-seasoned, the salsa verde added a bright tangy kick, and the eggs tied everything together beautifully. Hearty, comforting, and full of authentic flavor. You can tell this place cares about quality and execution. From drinks to food, everything was done right. Definitely worth coming back and highly recommended.

When you walk in, the ocean views are absolutely breathtaking, and the restaurant feels open, modern, and inviting. Our server, McKenna, was the best waitress we've had in quite some time. She was attentive, personable, gave great suggestions, and made the experience even more memorable. The entire staff was fantastic as well. We started with the Tako A L'Escargot. My wife ordered the Makai Special, which was Mahi Mahi with prawns and potato furikake pancakes, and I ordered the Macadamia Nut Crusted Fresh Catch (Swordfish) with broccoli and rice. I would highly recommend all three dishes. They also started us off with a delicious complimentary bread basket and a tomato watermelon shooter as a palate cleanser. The Tako (octopus) was moist and buttery, while the bread was soft with a nice crisp exterior. It was a very unique dish. The fish in both entrées was moist, buttery, flavorful, and cooked to perfection, with sides that complemented each dish really well. To top it all off, they surprised us with a complimentary s'more inspired dessert for our anniversary and cookie to go, which was a thoughtful touch and the perfect way to end the evening. If you're looking for an excellent date night, anniversary dinner, birthday celebration, or any special occasion, I highly recommend Merriman's! Note: Parking is complimentary valet only.

We got a little worried about the quality of service after seeing some of Yelp reviews, and we did experience some attitude from someone on the phone when we called to ask about their hours. For that, I had to deduct a star. The food and our waitress were both outstanding. Our party of 11 all ordered pizzas to share, and we were set up at multiple tables around the restaurant. My favorite pizza was the Rhino, which is a garlic and oil base with Italian sausage, spinach, sundried tomatoes and roasted onions. The ambiance is as expected for a sports pub, with fairly loud noise levels but that's nothing new to us. Overall, we all really enjoyed our pizzas and we will definitely be back next time we take a family trip to Lahaina!

The price vs quality and quantity is way more expensive than it's worth. Place was a mess and no one cared. Food was disgusting, BBQ sauce was watered down ketchup, potatoes were burned pucks, bread was a slippa, "meatballs" taste like an old freezer smells. Freezer burned to heck. The place was a mess and chaotic, a bench for waiting under a projecting decoration so you had to lean forward and bend down to sit. Nothing redeemable about this place. Unfortunately the place we were staying recommended this slop. Waste of $200 for barely enough food for 2 when we had 4 people.

My cousins ordered cocktails and our server was so kind to let them know if they weren't happy with it, they could exchange it which they did. The first course of delicious appetizers was the Caesar salad with anchovies and the Kahuku Sweet Corn Agnolotti with Keahole lobster! That was so buttery delicious and small enough to make you want more! The homemade taro rolls with butter, oil and honey was a nice accompaniment. Our second course was just right portion wise and savory. My cousin even said he was full, which never happens since he loves to eat! We enjoyed the 48-hour Wagyu Prime Rib which was so tender and easily cut with a butter knife. Yummy dollops of potato purée and broccolini were beautifully placed around the meat. My other cousin enjoyed his Shrimp Scampi with fresh house made tagliatelle, capers, Kula tomato and basil. The dessert course was a great way to end our meal. I got the Pineapple Upside Down cake with a scoop of Ube Ice Cream, biscotti crumble and Kula Rum Caramel. My cousin's panna cotta was made with local Maui Kuia Chocolate and chantilly cream with a tuile that had light sprinkle of black pepper. So of course we ate at Cane & Canoe nearly every night of our stay. We also ate here for breakfast one day. For the price, I think it's very overrated. But here's what I think are good. - the bar menu has more casual food (burgers taste good, fries are good) and for staters, they give you gourmet popcorn - the dining room has yummy bread starters with honey, whipped butter, and olive oil From the dining room, I really liked their jidori chicken!! more than their steak. Their pineapple upside down cake was yummy and warm too. Their normal price seems really steep though and the views aren't that good. As for service, all of our servers were friendly and made small talk with us, and delivered every plate with a smile. Overall solid 4/5, 3.5 if I had to pay full price.
