For Valentine's Day at home we decided to pick up dinner from Amici's. They have been here for a few years now and we'd never tried them before. Upon entering from their side entrance I was immediately greeted. I informed them that I had a call in order and they proceeded to take care of things. As I waited I noticed the rather modest dining room but it was clean. Tight but neat. Then the enormous brick pizza oven is hard to miss. My pizza was getting its final turn I saw them pull it out. The staff was nice and made sure to prepare everything just as I requested. I ordered the Extra Large 18" pizza, half Garlic Chicken pesto, add mushrooms, w/ caramelized onions on the side and half meat lovers and an order of breadsticks. The pizza was big and smelled lovely. Crust was nice and the breadsticks were tasty with their marinara sauce. My only real issue was with the chicken half of the pizza. The sauce was lacking, as in it wasn't there, and there were portions of the pizza that didn't have any toppings, no cheese, no pesto, no chicken, just cooked dough. They could probably be more conscious of making sure the entire crust is covered. The meat lovers side was better and hubby says it was good. Would we order again? Sure, but I would definitely make it a point to request that the toppings be distributed evenly. Nice new little spot though. read more

Not sure if it was done on purpose, but I loved how they separated the kidless couples from the families by putting the families in the covered porch area. Seriously, muchhhhh appreciated! You don't know how aggravating it is to try to enjoy your night out with someone's kid screaming and the parent doing nothing about it because they're oblivious to the noise at that point. We ate here 2/13/17 and they already had the V-Day drink specials out which was a nice touch. Vibe? Monday night and it is hopping like a Friday. Warm, busy, inn-like dim lighting. Pleasant. We started with caprese bites. Tomatoes make the bite and the tomatoes were watery and grainy. Too bad. Could have been delightful. Pizza! I don't even really like pizza. They have wonderful pizza. We don't like similar pizzas so we each ordered our own. For me, the clambake - a white sauce, garlic, onion, ricotta, Fontaine cheese, red bell peppers and clams combo. Unique and tasty as heck. A winner. My husband got garlic chicken with caramelized onions. He enjoyed it. After a few slices, the chicken started tasting less than fresh so I tried a piece and he was right. Chicken not freshly cooked for the pizza. A day or two old at least. No desserts made in-house. We tried lava cake and cheesecake. Unremarkable but edible. Love, love, love this place. Food is consistently good and service is solid. Some favorites include: magic mushroom pizza, shrimp scampi appetizer (order it as a meal- it comes over homemade foccacia bread, you won't be sorry), and the duck wings. You can also sign up got text offers which are pretty good. We've just moved to town and we're praying there was good pizza here (Dominos and Pizza Hut are NOT good!). Tonight we took the plunge and tried Amici's. It was great! We ordered pepperoni pizzas, calamari, bread sticks, and a Greek salad. All of it was excellent and the pickup was awesome: you pull up on the side of the building and they bring it to your car. Couldn't be easier! My ONLY complaint is I wish the pizzas were bigger, but all in all it was a great dinner and we will be ordering again soon. read more

Came here March 16th. I saw good reviews on Yelp and on Google, but don't be fooled! The decor and layout was really nice. So, I had high hopes going in. The server was impressive at first but seemed annoyed and bothered after I sent my food back because the kitchen added Parmesan cheese, and I didn't ask for it. I made a custom order of penne with Marinara, clams, and basil. Because they were out of angel hair. Finally, my food came, and the sauce was plain and boring. Some clams were still shut after being cooked, which is a sign of bad clams. The pasta was Al dente as it should be, but it was not worth a penny. Didn't feel like paying after eating, yeah, it was that bad. The chef gave dirty glances over at my table because the waitress pointed over at me and told him it had to be remade. And I couldn't have a good experience in the bathroom either. Disgusting stench and nothing was clean besides the mirror. Will not come back even if I was paid to. read more

This is easily my favorite restaurant in Suffolk. They have consistently delicious food and a phenomenal beer/wine selection. I do think the wine is a bit overpriced, but I spent 5 years living in the middle of some great wine regions, so I'm biased. Their pizzas are an easy, inexpensive standby. Upgrade to the larger size - it's not much more expensive, but it's significantly larger. They also carry several classic italian dishes and the specials are always a nice addition. The menu is broad enough to appeal to a lot of people, but not so broad that it's overwhelming and unappealing. The wait staff is friendly and, even though it's usually crowded, we've rarely had a problem getting a table for 2-4 people. I'd recommend reservations for larger parties, though. I was first introduced to this while at Brick and Mortar. While playing a hilarious game of Cards Against Humanity, a memeber of my party suggested a pizza at Amici's. I had complained several days before how expensive carryout pizza was at every chain restaurant given the quality at which it was served. I don't mean to sound snobbish but never again will I stoop so low to eat that kind of pizza at the cost in which it is marketed. When the box opened at the table I could tell right away that this was a different kind of pizza. The smell of that glorious pizza would make a dangerous body spray. It causes symptoms of intense hunger and whom ever would wear such an aroma would surely be eaten. Back to the point. Examination of the pizza showed a texture unlike general take out pizza. For starters it was easy to tell that the pizza was more evenly cooked and the doe was properly prepared for the oven with bubbled areas which traps heat so when the cheese melts it does so evenly and clings to the base better. The first bite was a dream. The taste was like an ocean of delicious mixed flavors and the cheese provided a perfect texture much like a sponge that ends with a soft tasty crunch; that is something easy to bite through that gives a nice crisp sound and feel as you bite through it. All in all I give a 5 out of 5. I bought three pizzas tonight from them tonight and shared with some family to spread the word about Amici's. read more

At approximately 1:45pm my family and I arrived at this location for lunch. The wait time wasn't bad at all. Other customers seemed pretty content & satisfied. The environment was pretty relaxing with music playing in the background. However, upon waiting for our order we asked one of the servers (whose name was Susan) for a refill on water and she was quite rude. I had been working sense 6:00 am and finished around 10:30am. Looked all over for a restaurant that was open for more than breakfast. I happened upon Amici's. It was very busy and could only sit at the bar. I was told I would be able to order off the dinner menu. I was quite happy. I ordered Veal Picata. My waitress was young and acted very rushed .When she brought my $20.00 plate it was loaded with capers! I mean an entire jar had to have been used. The veal was chewy with no bread and no salad. Frankly it was diner food. When I asked her for some bread or rolls she took about 11 min to come back. When she did the bread was cold and stale quite awful. It was so loud in there I was unable to hear my self think! I will not return. read more

In 1964 in Rome, I was served a special dish created by chef Alfredo, a creamy Parmesan fettuccine. Amici's captured his creation, added lots of large, succulent shrimp, and lightened it up for a great dinner. The Greek salad was all fresh and ample. The tiramasu was well soaked and not too sweet. The only issue with our takeout dinner was that there are two branches of this restaurant, and first timers are not necessarily aware of this. Although I had to wait 45 minutes for the order to be replicated at the Suffolk site, the manager addressed the problem professionally and satisfactorily. My Mom and I had dinner here last week. It was both of our first time eating here and we were very happy with the service and the food. I got the shrimp alfredo and she got the chicken alfredo. We split a salad. The salad was good and the entrees were great and the dishes were so big we had to take the rest home. Our server suggested things,was very attentive and had a great personality. We went in for their new brunch in sunday. Sat outside on the covered patio which was very nice. We were seated fast and waitress that was with is was prompt and friendly. Ordered the Amici Quiche which is basically a breakfast pizza with fluffy eggs and sausage. It was tasty! Managed to eat half of it and had delishous left overs later. Wasn't sure how well it would reheat with the eggs but still was quite good. Me and my husband also shared a Southern Cinnamon Rolls. It was just as it should be warm gooey cinnamon roll and comes out in a cast iron. Definitly big enough for two to share with their meal. Others in our group got the cast iron country skillet and basic breakfast which they enjoyed. We all left happy and very full! Awful. People who like this place have clearly never been out of Suffolk. We were not given an option of whether we wanted to sit outside or not. The benches were dirty and the railing was not secure in several places. My son's chicken came out burnt probably due to old oil (see photos). My fettucini was normal but the chicken was rubbery and felt like it came out of a can. My mom's pizza came out on a plate where there was a chunk missing and she almost cut herself. The pizza itself was gross and the ingredients all quite obviously came from a can. When the best thing at an Italian restaurant has to offer is the fries, you know there's a problem. Not to mention the dead roach in the ladie's room and the obnoxiously loud environment- trains, police vehicles, traffic not to mention several songs on the radio talking about "ass". Not exactly family friendly lyrics for a place that expects kids. Save your money, save your time. $17 a plate for food that looked and tasted like $5 fast food Italian. Sad. read more
