    Cheese 12 inch pizza
    Monica G.

Really great pizza! Just how I like my pizza! Moderately priced! Just bad customer service :/! I walked into an empty establishment, no one other than me and 3 workers and I said hello how are you - silence. Then I said I'm here to pick up an order - silence. Got to the register and she just said "name" and that was the extent to our interaction! Customer service is so big for me! But I think I'll give Atlas Pizza another shot because again, their pizza was delicious.

    Extra cheese and pepperoni

Really wanted pizza and I'm not a big fan of chains. We have eaten at Atlas before and hadn't been disappointed. Got the extra cheese and pepperoni. Pizza was really good but could have taken a few more pepperoni. Also got garlic knots and was kinda disappointed. Maybe they were overcooked ??? They also lacked flavor. We've had them before and they were good. Maybe just a bad day. We'll order from there again.

Atlas pizza is my go to pizzeria in North Suffolk. I mean, it beats the Pizza Hit around the corner. I appreciate that they were a sleeve when they toss the dough so that it doesn't touch the men's hairy arms. Cleanliness is everything. However on my most recent visit, the person that took my order at the counter and handed me my pizza had on filthy shirt. The shirt (and pants) had actually blackish dirt smears all over the front. I thought pizza dough is white (not the color of dirt) so maybe he was washing dishes or sweeping and moping?? Not sure but I found it very unacceptable to handle food in dirty clothes. Their customer service is ok. Sometimes I feel like they don't appreciate their customers.

Smelled good, but couldn't get past the burnt taste. Stromboli that was supposed to have pepperoni, sausage, and mushrooms. We didn't spot very much sausage, pepperoni was a single layer right along the burnt bottom.

Great NYC style pizza! This place has been our go-to pizza place for many years. Always dependable. I highly recommend trying their Atlas Gourmet White Pizza! It has spinach, mushrooms, tomatoes, and broccoli. Absolutely delicious.

Some friends and I ended up here after realizing the Gourmet Burger Bistro closes early on New Years Day (oops), but honestly it worked out in our favor. I've been seeing Amici's floating around online for YEARS and just never got around to visiting ... but better late than never because babyyyy the food was hittin'. Y'all do NOT judge a book by its cover. From the outside it definitely gives a little "divey neighborhood spot," but the food? FYE. Way better than you'd ever expect walking in! Now I gotta talk about this Caesar salad. When it hit the table, I made a face at my homegirl because why did I see tomatoes in my Caesar salad!? In all of my almost 34 years of life I've never seen that before. But listen, I took one bite and had to humble myself because it was honestly one of the best Caesars I've ever had. Got me right together. We also got the hot caprese queso appetizer with foccacia bread and it was absolutely delicious. My chicken parmesan pasta was also amazing. I put the leftover caprese queso on top of the pasta and it was a wrap from there! Me and all my friends agreed that the food was really good despite our first impressions. I'm officially adding Amici's to my list of places to visit whenever I'm in Hampton Roads.

First time here for dinner and it did Not disappoint, didn't think dinner could to lunch but it did. It was busier too and service was excellent and food still amazing and didn't take forever either. Can you say WINNING!! I had their fettuccine chicken Alfredo for the first time and it was rather tasty. Typically I add broccoli, but I didn't and it was still yummy. My daughter actually got my usual the baked ziti which she enjoyed and I ordered a to go one to take home to my bottomless pit son and youngest daughter too. We opted for no desserts because we were just too full but think I'll have to make a return trip just for dessert one day because those looked yummy as well!! It wasn't too noisy at night, but definitely a tad louder than during the day but to be expected on a busy holiday weekend. Parking is ample in this shopping center so no worries here on that. I asked for sparkling water and was immediately asked if I'd like to split it. Since the menu doesn't indicate that it's served as a one-liter bottle, the question caught me off guard. Three coworkers and I agreed to share it. The problem was actually getting the water. Everyone else received their drinks while we waited. We had to ask three separate times before it finally arrived, nearly 20 minutes later. By then, we were all thirsty, and splitting a single bottle meant each of us got barely half a glass. As for the food, I ordered the lunch special: penne with chicken and broccoli. I managed only a few bites before giving up. The dish was swimming in grease, which completely overpowered any other flavor. It tasted unseasoned and lacked any real depth. A coworker offered me a slice of his stromboli, but unfortunately it wasn't much better. The vegetables were undercooked, and the overall flavor was bland. Between the slow service, confusing drink situation, and disappointing food, this was not a place I'd return to or recommend

(Yes, the 1960's.) The crust was soft and flavorful. (I usually cannot taste the salt in pizza dough but I sure can tell if it's omitted! Al Forno's was perfect.) The sauce was delicately but perfectly seasoned. We added feta cheese and onion to the pizza. The cheese serving was generous and the onion flavor really came through. The side order meatball was larger and tastier than most other restaurant's meatballs. It was served in a bed of marinara sauce with a basil leaf adornment. My ravioli was tender and sized just right. The dining area was sparkling clean. Our service was friendly and reliable. The only issue we had was that we had to move from a booth to a table as the raised rim that kept the seat cushion in place was cutting into our thighs, making it a little uncomfortable. It claimed to have "caramelized onions," ummm no---it was very obvious that said onions were put on the pizza raw prior to going into the oven. The "roasted peppers" were bland. Their cake was delicious but not enough to redeem their lack of quality and pricing with the pizza. Go to Joe's in Camptown--theyre less expensive and a heck of a lot better.

This is THE spot for locals in the Portsmouth area. It's no surprise you see reviews from patrons who drive from all over the Hampton Roads area to visit this gem! Service is so friendly and you can tell it is a TEAM! I sat at the bar so got to watch the open kitchen in action. Their system is down pat and you can tell everyone enjoys working with each other. Each dish I watched from prep to service was handled with meticulous care. PRIDE IN WORK AT ITS FINEST! Everyone works to serve you as a team as well, no worry about "bothering" another member of the staff for something, everyone wants you to enjoy your meal. I can tell there are a lot of local regulars as the staff was engaged on a level you only see when your clientele is consistent and have a vested interest in the success of the business. I've been to 16 countries and travelled all over the states, this is truly one of the most friendly establishments I've had the pleasure of being hosted at. On to the food! I see a few people complain about the small menu, that is the SMARTEST thing a business can do. Focus on what you're good at and demolish the competition. High Street Pizza and Pour delivers on this. My eyes were bigger than my stomach so I ordered the meatballs, the special for their pizza pie of the night (a pork belly, red onion, jalapeño, bbq drizzle dream boat of a pie), a tiramisu and two cocktails. The food in pictures looked smaller than in person... omg I ordered for about 4-5 people! But everyone was soooo good. Meatballs were tender with a fantastic red sauce. Pizza had a crispy buttery crust and the pork belly was rendered perfectly. Tiramisu was fantastic (not sure if that's an in house make or pre done, but it was on point), and the cocktails were perfectly poured with just the right amount of liquor. I left with probably two meals worth of takeout the portions were so large and I can't wait until I'm hungry again. I'm new to the neighborhood and as everyone knows, you need to find your fav local spot to frequent. I'm proud to report, High Street Pizza and Pour House has just taken that spot!

It's my own fault. Being a vegan in a world where eateries are not always vegan friendly, I have to…read moredo a lot of research before I even go to a restaurant. And I didn't do enough research about High Street Pizza, I guess. I always check the menu before I even leave the house when going out to eat. I look for vegan friendly items, and sometimes I call to confirm. The exception is PIZZA. Whenever my not-vegan husband and I decide on pizza, I already know I can customize any pizza with veggies instead of meat and cheese. It was date night Thursday, and High Street Pizza had awesome reviews. I did the "vegan thing" and checked the menu first. I found a lot of vegetable toppings, so I knew I could craft a pizza to my liking. We drove from Va Beach to Portsmouth for dinner. I learned that I cannot craft a pizza with no meat and cheese because High Street Pizza will not make a pizza without cheese. I had no idea you can't just take cheese off of pizza. I do it all the time at other pizza places, but the pizza here must be constructed with cheese. I was told I could get vegan cheese, but I didn't want that. Option 2-order a salad. I opted for the Greek Salad, hold the feta. And since the menu said it came with a red wine vinaigrette dressing, I could eat that instead. After placing our orders, the waitress returned and informed me the red wine vinaigrette was made with mayonnaise at High Street Pizza. The very name of the dressing is a list of the ingredients: Red wine Vinegar How does MAYONNAISE get in there? I even Googled it to make sure I wasn't getting it confused: extra virgin olive oil, red wine vinegar, mustard, oregano, and salt Of course, the dressing can be altered to be "creamy". And yes, there is a CREAMY red wine vinaigrette. But that's not what the menu said. High Street Pizza listed the dressing as just "red wine vinaigrette." I didn't eat anything that evening, but my husband loved every morsel of his sausage and mushroom pie, however. He even said it was one of the best pizzas he ever had! In their defense, High Street Pizza doesn't tout themselves as a vegan friendly restaurant. I am not disappointed about the pizza because my choice not to eat vegan cheese is my preference. They tried to offer an alternative, I chose not to opt for the cheese alternative. Consider listing your salad dressing as "creamy red wine vinaigrette" though. It makes a huge difference leaving the word out.

There is a "wait to be seated sign" as soon as you enter. No one approached us but the owner/chef asked from a nearby table how he could help us. I thought that was a little odd since we were standing in front of the "wait to be seating sign" Okay not a big deal. We responded that it would be 4 of us so he instructed one of the servers to direct us to a table. We sat looked over the menu and ordered drinks while we waited for the rest of our party. Three of us ordered because the 4th was running late. I ordered the chicken cheese steak, one co-worker ordered the cheese steak and the 4rd ordered I believe it was the penne vodka. The 4 person came and ordered a small pizza. When 3 of the meals came out, the Penne Vodka looked different then what I've seen before and yes before you ask I have seen authentic Italian Penne Vodka when I visited Italy a couple of years ago and I don't recall in either of the cities that I visited did the Penne Vodka look like the dish that my co worker received. It just didn't look appealing. When the server returned my co worker said that she didn't want the dish and that it could be taken away. The server asked if she wanted something else and my co worker's response was I'm not sure right now. In less than a minute the owner/chef rushes to the table and starts asking why didn't she want it and she explained that it just wasn't what she expected but that she was still willing to pay for it. That didn't suffice for him he continued with the questions, "have you ever had the dish before" blah. It became quite annoying. Honestly at that point who would want someone to prepare anything else with all of the animosity. I am giving 3 stars because my chicken cheesesteak was ok nothing fabulous and the 4th co worker's pizza was good and the sever was good. The steak and cheese was not eaten by my co worker either but she didn't bother to send it back because we didn't want a repeat of the pasta. Her comment was the meat didn't have a very good flavor. I also thought that it was a little pricey because refills are not free, no sides with the sandwiches, a side of fries $5 the portion didn't reflect the price. To each its own.
