Pasta Pescatore

Food was delicious here. The tripe, mussels, and pastas were flavorful. Seafood was fresh and cooked perfectly. Tiramisu was not too sweet, which we prefer. Staff were friendly and attentive. Looking forward to trying more of the menu items on our next visit.

Chicken Marsala, Chicken Piccata, Pasta Carbonara

This place is amazing! My friends and I were on vacation staying in largo, and we wanted Italian so we came here and all of us agreed it was the best Italian we've ever had. The staff was so sweet to us & we had such a good time the first time we went, we had to go back again. The chicken piccata was next level, and their homemade house dressings ( balsamic & ceaser ) were delicious!! They need to bottle it up & sell it!! 10/10 recommend, they also have tasty desserts.

Have driven past this place innumerable times on the way back and forth to the beach but have never stopped. Man, was I missing out. EXCELLENT Italian fare. It's a storefront spot at then end of a strip center. There are about 30 tables in 3 rooms, plus a few on the sidewalk out front. You enter in a small anteroom overlooking the pizza oven and it's a little confusing with a mix of people waiting to be seated and the to-go orders being picked up. This is a BUSY place, and there are lot's of orders being picked up! The room where we sat featured an enormous fish tank. Beautifully curated, the tank is really cool. Very peaceful to watch the fish do their thing while we ate. Our server, John, took great care of us. Explained the menu and specials, counseled us on good choices and kept the meal moving. Smiling, gracious and professional. THANK YOU! At seating, a basket of warm rolls and seasoned olive oil is served. Exercise restraint - you'll want to demolish the whole basket but you gotta leave room for the entrees. Started with a cup of minestrone soup. Now you may be thinking... this is Florida.... isn't it too hot for soup?? Well, on this day no, it was 45 degrees outside. Regardless, though, this soup is OUTSTANDING. Homemade, brimming with veggies and potatoes in a rich bold broth. House salad is also great. Fresh and crisp with house made creamy vinaigrette dressing. Next up, pasta. Penna ala vodka is delectable. Perfectly al dente penne with a tomato/heavy cream/vodka sauce. The sauce is light and creamy, not overpowering. The serving is big enough to take some home for lunch tomorrow! Also linguine with shrimp. Perfectly prepared al dente linguine, tossed with shrimp sauteed in garlic and oil. Shrimp have a crunch to each bite, with (bonus!!) tails already removed. It doesn't taste especially garlicky, but there are definitely chunks of garlic sauteed in there. This is one of my favorites, and it is perfectly done here. No room for dessert this time. Based on the quality of the food and the service, will be back for sure. Next time, will try one of those delicious looking wood-fired pizzas. RECOMMENDED.

Trying to figure out how or why I've never reviewed Amici before. Been coming here for about 10 years. Never have I had a bad meal here. Service is always perfect - wait staff is attentive and food is delicious. My only complaint is the entrees include soup or salad. I'm only a fan of chicken soup and they don't allow you to order the chicken soup with your meal so I pay extra. Just seems odd for those who don't like bean soups. Love the option of spinach instead of pasta for those looking to cut a few carbs.

I grew up in Italy and am 100% Italian and I can safely say this is the best Italian pizza in the whole Tampa Bay Area!

I had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. I ordered a large cheese pizza and…read morechicken alfredo fettuccine, and both dishes were extremely underwhelming and honestly unpleasant. The menu claims the food is "made from scratch," but that was very hard to believe. The pizza sauce tasted like it came straight from a can, with absolutely no visible seasoning or flavor. It was bland and tasted processed. The chicken alfredo fettuccine also tasted artificial, nothing like a fresh or homemade alfredo sauce. It lacked the rich, creamy flavor you would expect from a scratch-made dish. What made the situation worse was the customer service. When I politely brought the issue to their attention and explained that the food did not taste fresh, they refused to take the food back or make it right. There was no attempt to resolve the issue or show any concern for the customer's experience. Unfortunately, between the poor food quality and lack of customer service, I would not recommend this restaurant. There are far too many places that value quality and their customers to spend money here.

While the NY-style crust was excellent, the sauce was a bit too sweet than I prefer, and they were quite frugal with the pepperoni, my only topping Maybe I caught them on an off night? The service was also not very friendly. I was just given a total, then handed my pizza. No "Hello," or "Hey, thanks for your business." Hmmmmm... While I was optimistic visiting here, "Mamma" did not give me any good reason to return. Oh well...

I ordered the same pizza as the last couple of times (18" Supreme) but I just need to add a couple…read moreof small updates. For one thing, the 18" pies are now $2 or $3 more than the 16" ones. No big deal for a bigger pie, actually. One thing I neglected to mention about the toppings on this thing...they are fresh! No canned mushrooms or soggy pepper chunks on this bad boy. Again, the veggies are plentiful and there's enough protein (sausage, pepperoni and mutz) to keep the flavor going. I know Westshore just up the street uses canned veggies on their pies...yet another valid reason to stay away from there. Now here's an interesting side note...I made the call to place the order. For a split second I thought I dialed the wrong number. A lady with a thick Asian accent answered and I had to slow down a bit to make sure I understood her and conveyed my own information properly. When I get there to pick up, indeed an Asian lady (Vietnamese, actually) was behind the counter running the place. I usually get the owner himself, but he wasn't anyplace in the small store. This time, meanwhile, their newest menu was plastered onto the pizza box. One of the oddities I noticed in the appetizer section of their menu is "Vietnamese Egg Rolls." I'd seen it previously but thought nothing of it. So putting two and two together I figured out that Mrs. Owner was in charge today! Now the egg roll app makes a lil more sense! So the big thing out of all this is what I'd said previously...I am glad to support these local "little guy" operations. I'm particularly proud to do so when I see a hard working couple running an operation like this rather than filling some third party's pocket. She was a very nice, polite lady, much as her husband is a well mannered man. Both are friendly and solicitous, and they know how to make a mean pie. I highly recommend them; I would just get it to go, because the shop itself wins no prize at all.
