Atmosphere: Don't be fooled when you walk in, when you see the front area it gives the impression of a delivery/pick-up pizza place. This place is so much more!! Something that caught my eye right away, the fish tank is very clean. Having inspected restaurants in Chicago, usually the fish tank is a mistake and they are always dirty. This one comparatively was immaculate. The dining area was nice and since we didn't have a reservation, we sat near the entrance which was a bit painful with people walking through a lot. Food: I would have given this place five stars however, the food was good but missing something. I ordered Linguine Carbonara. It was good but seemed to be lacking in richness. Don't get me wrong, it was good but not as cheesy and creamy as I would have liked. Also, the bacon was good but lacking in flavor. My wife ordered linguine with clams. She thought it was great, simple and flavorful. She is not a big fan of Italian food but she enjoyed it. Service: Our server was great. Very nice and friendly. The host was nice and polite but seemed a bit in a hurry and not warm but again he was friendly. I will definitely go back. We found this restaurant because it's really close to our house so that's really convenient. We brought our infant with us and the staff quickly welcomed us and offered accommodations for our baby for our table. The host and our server were both very friendly and were able to answer any questions we had about the menu. We tried octopus for the first time for our appetizer and it was delicious! Our entrees were amazing too! You can taste that it's homemade just like the menu states. We will definitely be returning! read more

This place is amazing!! First thing you see as you walk in is a big brick oven pizza, the smell was amazing. On our first day in Florida, we happen to stumble on this places not knowing what to expect. We came in jet lagged and tired, the waiter was amazing and helped us order some amazing meals. Their Chicken Marsala was amazing and so was the pizza and pasta all made fresh in house. I ordered a few take out apps to check this place out and here are my findings. Let me start with the good, the bruschetta was great, flavorful and delicious the only thing missing was fresh basil, added some I picked from the garden and it was perfect!! The calamari was slightly overcooked and rubbery. The breading was spot on along with the gravy used as dipping sauce, I give them credit for that. The tripe left much to be desired though. Again gravy was spot on but the tripe was not prepped the right way. I have been cooking and eating tripe since I was 16 years old. Tripe needs to be boiled for a minimum of 3-4 hours to loose the tripe "fishy" taste. Then cooked into the sauce and it takes the flavor of the sauce. Again the sauce/gravy was spot on just a little more prep time needed. Overall I would try this place again for some main courses, the gravy makes the meal and they are definitely doing something right there!! read more

The food here is hands down the most authentic delicious Italian food I have ever had. I travel the world and eat at many different restaurants and this place has everything from food to impeccable service and beautiful ambience. It is everything you would imagine if you were visiting Italy. It's a family run business that's been around for about 25 years. Their son Frankie makes a pizza that makes you want to eat more no matter how full you are. The fettuccine Alfredo is so creamy and cooked to perfection. Run to this gem of a restaurant! Happened upon this place driving back from Clearwater to Orlando, and glad we stopped! They seemed hesitant to seat us at first, which seemed odd to me for a party of only 2, 45 min before closing, but they did. Our waitress was sweet, but seemed a little flustered after a busy night. Sadly, they were out of soup, bread, and the beer I ordered, but brought us another side salad in place of the bread. We ordered a pizza and a veal dish (Capricciosa and Pizzaiola). They were kind enough to let me change the type of veal I ordered after I'd already ordered the dish! The pizza was absolutely divine - piping hot, crispy crust, lots of toppings. I was in pizza heaven! The veal dish was flavorful and exactly what I wanted. I would absolutely come back here! Came here off a recommendation and right away the owner was super friendly when walking in. It's located in a strip plaza but don't let that turn you away. We came late on a Wednesday night so we were seated right away. My friend had ordered the special of the day: spinach gnocchi in a rośe sauce (half marinara and half Alfredo). I ordered the butterflied shrimp pasta in a butter, garlic, lemon, white wine sauce. Both entrées were absolutely delicious! You can actually see the pieces of garlic in the sauce which I loved, I am a huge garlic fan! I had to deduct a star for one reason, they left the tails on the shrimp which were breaded and fried. It was messy trying to cut the tails off so this is why I did not give five stars. When I go to a nice Italian restaurant I expect them to cut my tails off for me. They both came with soup or salad and bread with olive oil. My friend had the minestrone soup and I had the house salad. The salad dressings are in house made and were very good. I tried both the Cesar in the creamy balsamic. My friend ordered a piece of tiramisu to go so I did not get to try that. She also ordered a Coke to drink and they brought out a Coke can with a glass of ice which I found odd. This must mean that they don't give free refills on soda because they bring you a can of soda. Bottom line the food was really good minus the quirks. I would come again. read more

I wanted to love this place but honestly it was meh. I called and made 7:30 reservations for 2 as l heard they are busy. When we arrived, the hostess put my name on a list and said they would get to my reservation when they could. What? 30min later we were seated. The wait staff was short as they literally were running like chickens. Our waiter came over 15min later to take a drink order. By this time we just ordered everything since we weren't sure when he would come back. Grace the busser is a gem and kept refilling waters and clearing dishes. Bruschetta was missing basil. It was relatively bland. My Veal Pizzaiola was so heavy handed in Oregano that it was difficult to eat- spinach helped. Shrimp scampi was lacking garlic flavor. I believe they overcook the sauces and do not allow the garlic essence to come through. I would never eat in again unless they fix their reservation policy. Didn't get our meals until 9pm and they close at 930pm. No time for dessert. read more

I rarely rate 5-Star. But this was a close one -- hear me out, ok? I had the Quattro Formaggi pizza, fried calamari, cappuccino and tiramisu. My rating is for the presentation of the place and the pizza. That cheese -- for those that don't know, the name means "Four Cheeses" -- touched my soul. Dealing with a heavily restricted diet due to a temporary (I hope!) situation can be challenging. I like challenges. I can eat 1/2 a cup of food at a sitting and it has to be soft like overcooked pasta. I decided to try the lasagna here and it was proper Italian-American style. A huge portion, which I subsequently leveraged for six meals! This was our third time eating dinner here at Amici. First off, we noticed how clean the restaurant is. Sometimes with Italian restaurants you'll see dried spaghetti sauce on the walls - yuck. The second thing we noticed was how friendly the restaurant staff is. That's why we love neighborhood small businesses so much. It's obvious that they care that you have a great meal here. We also liked how they had a varied menu - you can have pizza or a regular Italian meal or just a salad and an appetizer if you want lighter fare. The iced tea is pretty good and reasonably priced. With our meal they provided us with some delicious Italian bread. We loved it! It's obvious the folks at Amici care about their customers. We look forward to coming back. read more

Stopped in for dinner, we were greeted right away & seated right next to the fish tank which is pretty. Interesting place. When you 1st walk in, there is a nice pizza oven but it seems like a pick up window. Decor is dated and odd but sometimes those are the best places. We were hoping to find a hidden gem. Not exactly. Kind of odd. Pizza had a great flavor but we had to cut off the completely burnt edges. We ordered the caprese salad but the tomatoes were VERY underripe, not even red.
