Terrible service , such a nightmare would never recommend this place to anyone called for a estimate on a transmission rebuild & guy said he can't do a estimate he needs to see the vehicle so I drpopped it off to his house/garage & don't hear from him for 1x full week get a call 1 week later saying your truck will be ready in 1 hour like wt* I asked for a estimate on a transmission rebuild I didn't confirm or get a call on a estimate with price or anything all of a sudden 1 week later I get a call & it's done without my knowledge or approval to even do the work I wanted a estimate because I got a couple other estimates from local shops likes Amesbury Chevrolet & so on 1 week later get a phone call saying I owe 3.2k thousand & owner Kevin flips out on me & hangs up on me because I want to pay credit card & not cash & he says I need cash because I don't want to go through the business ... kevin didn't supply any paper work no receipts no invoice nothing no documentation saying I paid for a transmission rebuild besides a single yellow small notebook receipt that just says transmission rebuild $3200.00 like so u profession any shop on a transmission rebuild especially on 3.2k thousand on a 1990 Chevy would supply paper work documentation, invoice, warranty I did not receive a paper that even says what was done for parts or how much the parts were or how many parts or the price absolutely nothing so I have no proof if I ever wanter to sell the truck of that the transmission actually got rebuilt like how do I even know he replaced all "soft parts" + a new torque converter like a rebuilt transmission is suppose to be done any professional shop would show you & explain to you what was done & replaced & so on AVOID this place u less you drive a sh*t box & don't want proper documentation on the work that's being done sorry when I'm handing over over 3 thousand dollars I want the proper paper work & documentation for my vehicle it's a antique rare 1990 Chevy c-10 (OBS) American Muscle thats Only going up in value year by year so yes I save all paper work done to my vehicle anybody who owns a vehicle like mines does if your smart read more

I'm a little late on my review. I have a 1956 corvette tha got stuck in drive last fall. No matter what gear I put it in. it's an original 2 speed Powerglide. I searched for 2 months trying to find someone to repair it. got the same answer from about 12 different shops. "To old, don't know anything about them.". I finally got Kevin's contact info from Honk at Martin road salvage. Called Kevin and he said he could do it, but it would be a few weeks before he could get to it. he called me up in a few weeks and said he was ready, suggested I have it flat bedded there so not to do any more damage. To my great surprise it was done in under a month, and at what I think is a reasonable price. It shifts perfectly, and works as it should. THANK YOU KEVIN I couldn't be happier. Go anywhere else. Guys operating out of his backyard garage! Had blown transmission on 4Runner which I already knew from Daaboul and sons a good local mechanic. Was given quote of 3500 not for full rebuild. He had car for under 24 hours to tell me he couldn't repair without doing complete transmission which I already knew. So he charged me $400 for me to get my car. Complained until he brought to $300. But just ridiculous. Ended up paying $3500 for a complete rebuild at AAMCO in Portsmouth. For full rebuild he quoted me same as dealership, guys a joke! read more

I dont understand the top post and dont know how to remove it. I am a retired automotive ase master tech. I bought an 05 honda accord for a great price. Body is clean and everything works. It was towed here because it wouldn't start. I tapped the starter and it turned over and ran awesome. I bought a rebuild starter from napa. I removed the intake plenum and installed the new starter. When I cranked it the engine ran fine. But there was a horrible grind noise It sounded like the flex plate was bad. I called kevin at amsbury transmission and requested a price on a new flywheel. He gave me a very good price. Mind you I replaced the starter in a parking lot with limited tools. I towed it to keven. A day later he called me to say that he removed the inspection plate and the teeth on the flex plate looked ok and he diagnosed it as a defective starter. It sure didn't sound that way to me as I just installed a remanufactured. Unit from napa. He got the starter swapped out. He installed the new unit and it cranked right up and sounded normal. He could have charged me to r&r the transmission but he didnt. Quality is only second to honestly I paid a very fair price. Work was top notch. I give kevin 5 stars. Awesome guy and an immaculate shop. He does all type of automotive work. I highly recommend this shop Great work, honest. And very fair with his prices. I had work done to my Toyota truck at two different garages for the same drive train problem..each time I paid 500.00 bucks and the truck was not fixed. Then I was told the rear end was junk... then a friend told me about amesbury transmission.. Kevin had it for 24 hours and it was fixed and still running great!
