My car was having issues and I did not have a mechanic, I called Gray's Garage on a Friday morning. I spoke to Todd and explained what the car was doing. He told me that they were booked up for the day but said if I brought the car in he would test it for me. I brought the car right in and he tested it and said he would fit me in today and get the parts he needed and fix it for me. I left the car and he called me within 3 hours and told me its all fixed and all set for me to pick it up. Very reasonably priced! I was so amazed how I was treated and I feel Todd went above and beyond to get my car fixed. Such amazing service!! What can I say! I wish I could give them more than ****5 STARS! I noticed my ancient car was getting loud... Then oud to the point where it was embarrassing just to drive down the street. So I phoned and made an appointment at Grays of course. On my way to the garage with the volume up on the radio,..it was so loud I wasn't able to drown out the sound. I was so fearful of getting stopped. When I arrived I explained that I would need to wait in the waiting area. No problem. Within 15 minutes the mechanic came in and explained to me what was wrong, along with the cost and how much longer the wait would be. I was elated to hear that I didn't need a new exhaust or muffler! It wasn't going to take the better part of the day , nor the cost break the bank!!!! I really can't say, but I don't think it took as long as the estimated time ... Grays garage is not your typical garage, they actually care about there customers and are not there to rip you off. I have been bringing my vehicles there for over ten years now and refuse to go anywhere else, I don't even live in Salisbury anymore I live in Raymond NH and I still bring my vehicles there! I first went there with my Ford Expedition which had just rolled over 100,000 miles, I gave them a laundry list of things I wanted done and told them they could have the truck for as long as it takes to complete the list. Well, the next day I got a call from Todd (great guy) telling me that there were some things on my list that I didn't need to do right away and could wait and save some money! Now I'm not saying all garages would, but most places would have just done everything even though it didn't need to be done just to make money off of me. After hanging up the phone I knew I was a customer for life! Over ten years later I still go to grays for all my mechanical needs and I recommend to anyone looking for a good, honest, and hard working garage to give them a shot, you won't be sorry. read more

I take my car here. I trust them. They have loaner cars! Yep, drop your car off to be fixed and take their totally sweet Buick (or Escort!) to work that day. No wasting a personal day because you need brake pads. One time a few winters ago, I brought my car here because it was making a helluva noise on the highway; sounded like the tires were going to come off. I had no idea what was going on but drove straight there. Turns out I had ice built up in the alloy wheels. Happens a lot, I guess. They chipped it out and didn't even charge me! What nice people. They could've sold me new rotors and I would've have known the difference (because I'm a girl, you know). I don't see them as much as I used to. My car now doesn't need much but routine maintenance. I'd go here for an oil change if they were open on weekends, but they're not. Can't fault them for that. I don't want to work on the weekend either. read more

This business recently crossed my mind the other day. I haven't live in Massachusetts for a few years but this place sticks out as a painful memory. I used to take my car here to get "fixed" back in high school. These guys are hacks that will most likely give you back a car that's running worse than it was when you brought it in. One experience that comes to mind is when they replaced my shocks with old rusty ones. What fun. Do yourself a huge favor and never take your vehicle here. Broken down on the side of the road, whole electrical system out- thought it had to be the alternator. Friend told me to have AAA tow my car to Gray's Garage, since he always had good service with them. Gray's troubleshot the system to a shorted battery. Also asked if they could help me out with a stuck bolt on my valve cover (Subaru gasket leaking) and they loosened the bolts for me too. Quick service and awesome price. Highly recommend. read more

Highly disappointed with this shop! I went here only because my mother and step father have used them. I thought they were priced fairly. My engine light came on I went to AutoZone to have the code read, I called grays garage to make an appointment to have them confirm what the print out from AutoZone said. The price of the part (oil pressure sensor) at autozone was $15. After dropping my car off, The only call I got was saying the car is finished all set to be picked up!! I'm thinking what?!? The total price was about $180!! The breakdown... $130 is labor, avg of other shops in area $69-$88. The parts $45, avg cost of that $18-$21. Autozone was $15. In my opinion this is highly above average in my area, and the fact they just fixed it without calling! This really put me in a tough spot. I would have waited or shopped around after hearing their price, considering it's double of others! Don't make my mistake shop around before this place! read more

Have been bringing my cars here to Todd and Jodi and team for probably 7 or 8 years, including my FJ Cruiser with now over 200K miles on it. Always serviced properly, problem always fixed, quick turnaround, and always a reasonable/honest price. I've had many different repairs/services performed and it is always done right. This is for items ranging from brake pads, rotors, ball joints/axles, regular maintenance/service, diagnostics or as a sounding board for dealership required repairs. If I'm surprised by the repair cost it is usually that I expected it would have cost more. Two examples come to mind. Once my transmission was slipping on the FJ at a point when it had like 140 or 150K miles. So it was reasonable to expect I may need a new transmission and a high $$$ repair. Instead the transmission fluid was checked and replaced, problem solved for like $100. Another time I had a horrible rattling under the car..expecting the worst...maybe a $1000 repair, I was told it was fixed with a screw and $25. Who else does that? As to the one review I read here from some yahoo recalling something from years ago when he was in high school on a "lark" (right) my advice to you is to lay off the pipe read more

I have been going ot Gray's for years now following advice of a friend. These folks are like bringing my car to your dad to frix "Hey use my car while yours is in the shop, a got an extra!" " Hey you know this part right here, this is your problem, its just a little tweaked, I could get it replaced for 300 bucks, but if you look what i did, right here..I hooked a bracket up pulling it over. bam! Stronger than before, maybe not so pretty, but very safe- like new" And the bracket was only 15 bucks! " this is the very type of conversation I have had with these folks over the years, Honest, great costumer service and they really care about doing right by you. I had heard nothing but positive reviews about Grays so it was on my radar. Then my former mechanic on Merrimack street recommended I junk my 2001 Cherokee. I took it to Grays and he had it up and running for under $300. Since then we have been bringing the Jeep to Todd and they have it running about as sweet as a 2001 XJ can. Just put a lift kit in and it is awesome. Like a new Jeep and he discounted the installation. He also helped my daughter on a holiday (last minute) on her 2001 4Runner with over 200k. So she is now a devotee. My son is about to make a maintenance appointment for his 2016 4Runner. We also bring our 2005 4Runner to him exclusively and have never been disappointed. These guys are the real deal! You can trust Todd and he has a talleneted staff to support him. I will not go to another mechanic. Also if you drive by you will occaisionally see a police car in for service. That must say something right!!! read more
