My wife ran out of propane while I am out on an extended deployment that I originally would have already been home from (9+ months). Knowing that this required a leak check, I scheduled it and provided my wife's phone number for them to call when they were in route so she could leave work to be there, as required. They never called, so they filled the tank and locked it. I scheduled an urgent leak check for the next day, which they tried to charge me over $200 in fees for when there would've been no fee if it had been same day. They never called and never showed up for the leak check. I was told that the service department will call me to reschedule. They never called, I've been unable to get anything scheduled, and my wife has been without hot water for over a week! Treating customers like this is complete crap! THE WORST!!!!!!!!!!!! BEWARE!!!!!!!!!! My experience: 1. Wouldnt do an emergency propane for a fill in February so my pipes froze, and my house was demolished with $100,000 worth of water damage 2. When I first created an account and started services for my new home, they simply didn't do it after several calls to verify. They sent out a guy to my house three different times, threatening to turn off my propane if I didn't start my services. My guests were not appreciative of the intrusion even when I asked them to never have anyone bug my tenants again and it kept happening. 3. I cancelled and switched to All-State Propane because of #1 reason, their tank was removed by All State and put on the street, after I cancelled my services. YET they are still charging for filling up a tank that is not there FOR THREE MONTHS NOW AND THEY CLAIM I NEVER CANCELLED. I have called and emailed and canceled months ago ONE SEVERAL OCCASIONS because Im shocked every time I receive another bill. But, it's not reaching my house for some reason. No heat, no hot water, no shower since for three days now. They have a new "policy" every single time I call and swear it's been policy "for as long as they have worked there" We cancelled finally after having issues for well over 3 years. I accidently ran out of gas to the house and paid 300 for expedited delivery only to have then disconnect the line after they filled it. I spoke with someone who finally told me if the tank was low a leak test is done, and someone needs to be home for that. No where did it state I had to be present or I would have made arrangements. I'm just wondering how this company are still in business. Initially they showed up when they said for the first 'service'. They forgot to connect my oven . I called back to see when they could come and finish the oven another week . First they told me $175 on the phone. Then when the technician finished he showed me a $225 invoice. Somehow they charged me $450! Unbelievable that no one could tell me why. I pay the entire bill and they tell me they'll look into it and get back with me..... no one ever contacted me. Low and behold the saga continues. My propane tank is on empty.....My fault for not keeping an eye . I call Amerigas they assure me for an additional $350 fee plus the cost of the propane they will be there with in 24hours . Of course they didn't show up and nobody can tell me the next day why not , 'your scheduled for tomorrow' is what I'm told again and again and again. I called 7 times !!! 9 days later they show up and charge me the $300 24hr emergency fee plus the $49 empty tank fee . $860 so I could take cold showers and have no range or oven for 9 days . Worst and most uncaring, condescending customer service ever! After raising their price from $2.65/gallon to $4.04/gallon in one year, they then charged me for a year's worth of propane in one month. I normally use about 1 tank of propane a year. I filled the tank in December for $1710, then it was empty again in January, $1648. Amy on the "escalation" team, I think, after calling me Maam about 30 times in 15 minutes then refused to consider a credit for any of the missing propane. I called to place an order to refill my propane tank on 9/19/22, I was told my delivery was scheduled for 9/22, no delivery occurred so I call and a representative told me it was scheduled for 9/26/22. I asked for a phone call an hour prior to delivery as there was a gate which is often mistook for being locked, no call, no delivery. This was an ongoing occurrence from 9/22 until today 9/30. This morning I spoke with Fran who confirmed my delivery was on it's way, I confirmed the gate was unlocked and able to be opened, I again asked for a call and I would meet them outside to open the gate of needed. By 2pm with no phone call, I called to find out a time frame for the delivery, and was told the delivery was rescheduled for tomorrow, Saturday 10/1/22, I was given an apology but no reason for the reschedule. My propane is now below 15% due to these reschedules. This is the worst customer service I have ever experienced. When you call you get routed to a call center, the representatives cannot hear you because of they other people in the call center, when you ask to speak to a supervisor, you are flat old told they can't help you so there is no point. Out of the 10 reps I have spoken to this week 3 have been polite and helpful, but still cannot seem to get my order delivered. I'm willing to bet if the CEO was waiting for a delivery he would be disgusted at how him employees are treating their customers. It is no wonder they have a 1 star rating. read more

Don't really want to review a review. It seems my frustration with Amerigas is shared my many others. I've been a customer for 25 years. For years we complained about leaking gas smell. Finally they replaced their(?) 1958 rusty 500 gal tank. Who knows how many gallons/dollars lost? Lately, their upgraded phone service is a joke. Terrible service, rude dispatchers, sneaky business tactics and dangerous TANKS! We had called for fill up service at 25% before Xmas on the 15th. Apart from getting lectured that we need to call at 30-40% the dispatcher said it would be up to ten days before they could come out. OK no problem, I said, we will just conserve until then. 10 days later, no truck. No fill. So, I called again. Got the same lecture but was told they were really busy this time of year. Should be out soon! By Jan 3rd. Still no fill up. By this point we are completely empty and taking cold showers and also going to our gym for showers! When I called the 3rd time [on the 3rd] a woman named Toni said our stop wasn't even on the books!!!! She asked me who I spoke with? Not you, I said, another lady, the dispatcher thru the 800 number! So, now I'm told it will be another 10 days! AND...that we will have to pay $150 empty tank service fee charge...whatever that bogus BS means! It was then that I decided to look elsewhere and go with a new company. Within five days we are to receive a brand new [rental tank] and 120 gallon fill up for a much lower cost! I then cancelled Amerigas and asked them to pick up their old tank this month on the 20th since we have a new company. She said "ok...sorry to lose your business!" Well, the sneak attack happened one day before our new company delivered...get this...Amerigas sends a guy to fill up our tank even though we cancelled! We caught him before he filled up because he couldn't find our house- haa! And I am not blaming the poor delivery guy, he had no idea and just doing his job. He was very respectful when I shared my saga. The only cool dude of the company. Finally, just yesterday [over a month later] we got our new tank and gas delivered. When our new company checked the gas lines we learned that the Amerigas tank actually had a valve leak!! AND the tank we have been using [the "sea-mine"] is no longer being used by companies since it's out- dated! No wonder we were out of gas so quickly- yikes! If you are leasing a propane tank from them, you are held hostage to their ridiculous prices. One month they charged me $5.99 per gallon for gas when the market rate was $3.00. The worse experience I have ever had with a company. I have been struggling with having their personnel correct my account to reflect that I have 2 tanks and of course I always get the "I will make a note for that" however it is never the case because every time I call it is the same request. They came to deliver to one tank and so I asked them to do both and they seemed to be confused Ana so they left. I had to call back to make another request to make sure they filled both tanks, but what do they do？they came when I wasn't home and only filled one. Now I had to schedule another delivery to be expedited 1 day since the 2nd tank was now completely empty. I specifically said to call me prior to coming but without any notice all of the sudden they txt me at 7am saying they couldn't deliver because the driveway was blocked. WTF when I called and I was super upset I asked to speak to a manager and this guy gives me a 1866 number that when I called it just went right back to their office, so his fix was just to talk to someone else. We called the company for an emergency delivery so we would not run out of propane during an upcoming ice storm. The representative said she would call us back with a time of delivery , but never did. 36 hours later, we have no propane and no one answers the phone. THIS IS 1 STAR TOO MANY! I called AmeriGas 23 times before I got my delivery. I was promised a propane delivery "for sure tomorrow" 11 times and it never came!! I paid $700 in advance on Dec. 8th because that would make delivery "faster"... it took 3 full weeks of pulling teeth before I went around the call center to get service delivery. I was escalated to "emergency delivery status", meaning 24-hour delivery and it still took 2 weeks. I literally spent 10 hours (NOT an exaggeration) on the phone with AmeriGas and never spoke to someone in authority or a supervisor. If i had not found a service person who worked for the old company that was bough out, I might never have gotten a delivery. I spent $500 of my money to bring gas tanks to my location so that i would not get sued by the tenant for not having heat... or have my pipes freeze. A week ago they finally came to pick up their tank, after it had been left on my property for 6 months. They called to arrange the pick up, scheduled it and no showed all three times. Their service is poor at the very best. They also charged me for services I did not have, and then when I would not pay added late charges to my bill. Then they wanted to charge me to pick up their tank. Finally, they came and got the tank, but the day before had forwarded my account to a collection company for money I did not owe them. These guys are vile, their business practices are shoddy, their customer service is non-existent and their propane is ALWAYS more expensive than the competition. Hired this company because neighbor and I shared the tank. It has been 3 years and always had gas in the tank. The issue was my neighbor has 5 family members and me, well it is only me and we were getting the same charge ($157 MORE/LESS) I was only using the gas for showers. All else in my house is electric. My neighbors use it for almost everything in their house. So I canceled on March 19, 2022 and guess what? They send me a bill every month like I did not cancel it. Wow, so I call them and ask them to stop charging me. They don't! I ask them "what does my meter read?" They don't know. Where is my $200 deposit? I asked, and they seem to forget to put it in the mail. "If you want to cancel we will charge you $150 or so." They are very good at threatening I guess. Fine, I told them, take it out of my deposit, "what deposit" they said. Arrgghh month after month is a headache. Horrible experience, be careful. Amerigas got back to me and said they would give me a refund for some of the charges incurred while our house was under construction. They also said they would pick up the old tank.
