Amerigas is the worst. On the 3rd missed appointment, I gave up and found another vendor. But the worst of it. They are now harassing me to pay an almost $300 bill for dispatch to appointments they never showed up to and a site survey they never performed. Don't even call this company. They will try to get you with fees!!! there is a "Will Call Fee" $20 and a fee for setting up an account And if you cancel your account there is a $156 early termination fee with no contract! They call that an early termination fee. Read their terms. They are swindlers. Their call center (customer service) is located in Kenya! Their local office does not take calls. Beware of a crooked business. We just moved into our home. I called Amerigas to fill our residential propane tank. A man from Amerigas came to our home to inspect it before filling our tank. The inspection was supposed to cover our entire house and check everything to ensure safety. Instead, he saw that there is a structure around our tank (has been for more than 20 years), made us feel terrible as though we were stupid and bad with his reaction and comments, then left without completing his service. Next thing I know, a state inspector shows up at our door. The Amerigas guy had called a state inspector and now we have to pay to have the structure removed (I don't know why since it has always been there) before any gas company can fill our tank PLUS Amerigas billed us $147 for literally nothing other than what I've just explained. On recommendation, we called Anderson Propane and they were incredible. They spoke with the state inspector and helped convince him to allow us to have enough gas pit into the tank to last a while until we can pull things together. So thanks to Anderson Propane we have gas in our tank and a grace period to have the structure dealt with since we had just moved in. Thank you, Anderson! And Amerigas? Had them for 12 years. Rental for tank started at $45 then to $90. To remove tank they charge 199.00 plus tax plus a $99 service fee plus tax . So $300plus for them to remove their tank. They are a poor company. If I could give them a zero Starr I would. Today they wanted to know how I wanted to pay my bill. Of course they have already deposited the check I mailed to them. The absolute worst customer service in any business category that I have ever had to deal with. Three weeks to get a leak test is inexcusable. Fifteen to thirty minutes of work that no one on the Amerigas payroll can find the motivation to get off their ass to do. Phone call after phone call on their ridiculous new and improved automated phone menu will have you chasing your tail for 30 minutes. When you finally get to speak to a human, it's the same response every time. They don't know why it hasn't been done yet, they are going to leave a note though. If you need propane, get it from anyone else and forget the name Amerigas ever existed. You will save yourself a lot of trouble and money in the long run. And you will also get to have hot water, which is a nice bonus as well. read more

They have abandoned a propane tank on my property. I terminated service last year and can not get them to remove their tank. I have called numerous times. I can't get past the call center. They tell me they will refer my request to Customer Service but Customer Service never returns my calls. I have been unable to set up an appointment for removal or have my requests escalated to anyone in management. They have shut down their local offices and I haven't found anyone willing to resolve this issue. I would not recommend setting up service or doing business with Amerigas. Their customer service is non existent. read more

Customer service is bad. Tried contacting a person thru Springdale AR. All automated so no human to help with questions or issues.

They only filled the tank to 60% and sent a bill for 80%. I keep calling their customer service line and am told that district is looking into it. This has been going on for almost three months. Tech didn't leave a slip, district isn't calling, refuse to see the photos of the gauge that I took showing only 60% fill. Nice folks at customer service, but don't expect their help in resolving issues. read more
