I have spent hours on the phone with this co - there's been a block on my account ever since someone checked for gas smell then tried to overcharge me. When calling I was transferred numerous times then told the block was removed and they placed an order for us. Nope! I have been out of gas for twelve days. I was told they would be out between the 6th and the 9 th. They did not show up. I had another appointment on the 15th. They did not show up. They said they would be out in 24 hours did not show up. Came on the 17th and filled up the tank, but locked it because no one was home. They were supposed to send an automated call the night before. They told me to stay home and wait that a tech was definitely coming today the 18th. At 8:20 pm I find out they are done for the day. I can't cook and do not have hot water. Pricing is not competitive in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL. Delivery service somewhat erratic perhaps because of driver turnover.

They have 1 code to do a cancelation , depending on which girl you talk to. Put on 2x's on 2 calls, 1st one 15 minutes and never answered, 2nd call for 13 minutes and never answered. They told me 2 different precedures to cancel my account. But don't want to tank rental refund because they just don't refund money. This company works like Choice home warranty scew the customers. No service on weekends with only using for cooking then they put you on a waiting list 10 days to 2 weeks out and mean time you can't cook til they get there. So i would suggest this company service. Oh on Choice home warranty look on facebook or anywhere else they don't pay out on any claim and canceling them is impossible, that this company for service. read more

Tank was at 33%. Scheduled a delivery via online website. Expected delivery date was 11-4 to 11-7. Knock on the door on 11-2. AmeriGas driver said he had to do a leak detection check. I asked why since none of the statutory conditions existed requiring a leak check. A leak check is $149 extra. I told him "No". He could do it for free but I Wasn't falling for that scheme. My last refill was 18 months ago and I still had 33% of that left. So where's the leak? He wouldn't budge so I told him I wouldn't accept delivery under those circumstances. Besides, they are supposed to give me one day's notice for earlier deliveries. I got nothing. To boot, the tank is 2 years old, replaced by them and I was supposed to get a 25cent/gal discount for calling them in October. I filed complaints with the proper agencies and will be looking for an alternate source, one that isn't trying to scam me with fake fees. read more

I dont' review often but Amerigas have inspired me to do so. After the hurricane my gas was working fine. Amerigas came out to refill it and very strangely decided to turn it off. At present I've been left without hot water or the ability to cook in my house for a week. I was at home and they didn't try to speak with me before turning it off. Yesterday i got a text saying the service order had been completed and came home expecting to take my first hot shower in a week. The next day I got an email saying my service was scheduled for another week out. This is on the back of several other frustrations inclduing when i first moved in to my house, they took a week to turn the gas on. What a great way to welcome a new customer. If I could rate 1/64 a star I would be doing them a favor They suck. My tank overturned in Helene 9/26, and you can only talk to the Philippines for customer service. What a misnomer should be Philipinegas propane. Finally traced down a driver in my neighborhood who put a lock on the tank and let me talk to a technician. Tech informed me I would need a new regulator and to have the system purged, which I did on 10/22 (FL gas and plumbing-$750) Was then scheduled for a new tank on 10/25 in the am. When they did not arrived by 11:30 call the phillippines again and told they would be there by 5 or 6,called at 4:30 land was put on hold for over an hour and disconnected. today they have no record of my tank replacement. 30 days no hot water, no stove no customer service I will continue writing bad reviews about this company as they really deserve no business at all read more

We only have a propane tank for our hot tub that we never use. We had paid all invoices and I have now been on hold for 50+ mins and counting. This type of service is not good. Meanwhile because this account is in my name my husband is unable to cancel. Seems odd when we still live at the same address and he pays the bill. read more

Amerigas is the worst. I have terrible service at the tank and with their customer service and they have predatory billing practices in my opinion. They just sent me a $160 early termination bill for a property I moved out of 4 months ago. They claim that I signed a 3-year commitment, although there's no written proof that they can share showing me that. That would be a wildly inappropriate service contract even if it did exist. Because I moved out and left the property with their tank, that was there when I got there, after "only" 20 months of service was in violation of their service agreement. Completely outrageous. After Hurricane Helene left our house destroyed and unlivable, Amerigas sent me a text stating we were scheduled for a fill up. my wife and I both called to cancel the order. Well, guess what, they delivered it anyway. so we both called again to have the invoice cancelled and the propane removed from the tank. We were assured this would be done. does it happen, nope. We continue to receive past due invoices. Florida state attorney general has been contacted and they will investigate. Bottom line, stay clear of this company read more

AmeriGas is without question the worst propane supplier I have ever encountered. They have no local staff to interface with, only a call center. When I finally got on the phone with someone at the call center, they said they were located in Nairobi, Kenya. It is impossible to speak in person with someone at the propane supplier, only indirect communication through the call center. Their propane prices are higher than a multi-state propane provider that has a locally staffed office that we are switching to and which provided immediate face-to-face advice on a number of questions and concerns. We severed ties with Amerigas due to terrible service. We inherited their tanks/service in a newly purchased home. When we called their service number it turned to be a call center in India and they spent more time going through their rote procedure of confirming my identity rather than actually asking what service we needed and trying to provide it. We opted for a local company instead. Amerigas then picked up their tanks without prior arrangement, even though we had asked for an appointment, which shut off our furnace with no notice. read more

2nd 1-star Review Oct 2022 2nd time I ran out of propane, even though I'm on AmeriGas' auto refill program. My experience with customer service on both occasions was horrendous. Could not understand the Customer service agent who put the wrong phone number for the delivery person to call. When they arrived at the house they called the wrong number then left without delivering the propane. I spoke to a manager afterward who could do nothing except reschedule the delivery the next day- three days after running out of gas. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. I will be looking for another company to provide my propane. 1st review below July 2022 I had great service when I could contact the store directly. Now you have to go through really bad overseas customer service instead! I actually talked to someone in customer service who had a rooster crowing loudly in the background. I agree, AmeriGas is an awful company. As a new homeowner, I unfortunately bought a house with a leased propane tank from AmeriGas, thinking it was owned. My mistake for not asking the right questions. Issues arose when I got a bill a week after setting up the account, amounting to over $900 for gas. However, the local AmeriGas representative claimed the tank was 75% full. It turns out, since the house was vacant for 8 months, AmeriGas shuts off the gas and supposedly refunds the previous owner for the remaining gas in the tank. When a new homeowner purchases the property, AmeriGas promptly begins the relationship with a hefty bill. Thanks, AmeriGas, for such a great way to start a customer relationship. Now, I've received an email stating they're installing a wireless propane tank monitor, which becomes part of the equipment I'm leasing. This means I have to lease that equipment as well. I immediately called AmeriGas customer service, and they were clueless, knowing nothing about this email or the tank monitor. I requested that they make a note on the account that I refuse any installations. Terrible customer service, just terrible! Now, I want to either buy the tank outright or install my own tank, having AmeriGas remove theirs. I won't tolerate this horrible experience and won't fight with them every time they try to extract extra money from a customer. read more

I have been calling for a week now. Thursday they said within 24 hours. I called Friday and they say again within 24 hours. I called Monday and told them I was completely out and they tell me my day of delivery is the 26th but I would get an emergency delivery. I called them 4 times on Tuesday with the same thing saying we will be there within 24hours. My husband gets on the phone Tuesday after I did and spoke with a supervisor who assured him they would be here today. We close at 3:30 and my husband waited until 5 and still no SHOW. Terrible customer service, they came to service the propane tank and we were without gas after they left. When I called customer service for help I was told by a woman in the Philippines that I could not get a service call for at least a week to remedy the problem. I was told the same thing from their local office. My husband figured out that they forgot to turn the lever back on so we were saved, but no help from Amerigas. This has happened before. I am looking to either replace their tank with another company or go electric once again. DO NOT use them.. Just received a statement for just short of $289.99. i would give a zero but i can't. where do i start: i have two tanks and one was still leaking. 1. my second tank leaked and smelled of gas and was advised when the first tank was changed out to wait until it got empty to change it out. the repairman who i advised this to said i didn't need it changed and it wasnt' leaking that he would paint it. i said what about the gas that i have been smelling these last two years. he said he didn't smell anything. the repairman said their was no leak. my husband came home. and showed him the leak and asked him about the obvious gas smell. the repairman relented and changed the tank. we are still waiting for the cover. it has been two months but they did say that would take awhile. 2. they never give you the right credit for the remaining gas. when the first tank was changed because it was leaking i went around and around with them for about three months to issue my credit so that i could make my payment for the correct amount. 3. recently they filled my tank, made a repair and i paid both invoices. they did not credit the payment properly. i supplied them with front and back copy of the check along with email correspondence. i mailed this to the corporate office i emailed customer advocacy i emailed customer support i even went to the office which was locked because everyone was having coffee and placed the documents in their mailbox. i called their customer service department. they don't know what they are doing. and there is a clear bank record which i provided to all possible partied to trace and post my payment properly. i have spent enourmous amounts of personal time and expense correcting their mistake. rather training them to do their job . it really is not the mistake. it is the fact that there is no communication or trained personel to resoolve this. it is not that i have to have it done tomorrow and i am impatient, these things always take time. that is normal. the issue is no one wants to do their job and no one knows how to do their job and this leaves me the customer playing the role of management and employee and i am not even paid for it. sooooooo. if i could use another company i would but i can't. they are zoned or rather sold this area by the county. i need the propane for the hurricane and my compressor. i can't stand this company. i also wonder since it is such a zoo is my personal information even safe with them. i would never give them my banking information. but they have everything else. be ready to take a week off of work to get anything done. read more

ZERO STARS!!!! DO NOT USE AMERIGAS!!!! Their "Customer Service" isn't just HORRIBLE....it's NON-EXISTENT!!!! SIXTEEN DAYS ago, they took my $219 payment for a propane refill, and gave me a TEN day window for the refill. When I called on 12/14 (last day of the window) to find out why I don't have the propane THAT I PAID FOR, they said I was scheduled for 12/18....FOUR days outside the window, and SIXTEEN days after I paid for it. It's now 6pm on 12/18, STILL NO PROPANE. I'm now on hold on their "Customer Service" line for SEVENTY EIGHT MINUTES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There is NO WAY to get ahold of anyone at this company. I have to add my my voice to the negative reviews on customer service. I contacted them despite the poor reviews on Yelp. They seemed very responsive at first and made an appointment to visit our home. They did not show up at the appointed time and there was no attempt to contact us. I reached out to Amerigas, got an apology and rescheduled the appointment. They then did the same thing again !!! No show, no contact, nothing !! I find it hard to believe that any company can exist with this kind of poor attention to customers. read more

If I could give negative stars I would. The worst customer service experience. Propane tank getting low at 30%. Called twice to scheuled a fill. Automated system says it will be filled base on percentage, usage, and the weather. Called on a Friday before an expected cold weekend where we would need our propane powered heat. Told it would be filled the following Thursday. No show on Thursday even though they sent a text saying a delivery was coming that day. Called and told our account was being put in emergency status and we would get a fill within 24 hours. Nothing. Called again and told the same thing. Said it would be filled within 24 hours, which falls on a Saturday. Assured me that the do fills on Saturday. Nothing. Called Saturday. The man I spoke with told me they don't do fills on Saturday. Told me they are short on drivers but he would forward my concerns to the delivery department. When I asked who was working in the delivery department on a Saturday he said there was a delivery driver there. Complete lies they tell. Finally got the tank filled today, after almost 3 weeks of calling and the tank getting down to 16%. Terrible terrible customer service. I do not recommend this company to anyone. read more

I am only rating this high because of the customer service I received from Summer. I spoke with a representative regarding a tank issue and she was not nice. It was like she was mad at me from the minute my call was taken? I called back the next day and spoke with Summer. During my conversation with Summer, I could clearly hear the representative I spoke with the day before cursing about me in the background. Amerigas has started a national system for scheduling refills etc . I have tried 6 times to try and get my tank refilled. The system shows a delivery pending but the driver never comes.
