Since Carson purchased Universal propane, the price has dropped considerably…read more I saw one reviewer complaining that they liked Universal's Service better. Are they kidding? I have a 300 tank, and I got a bill for $1100 from Universal for a partial refill. Keep in mind, local competitors had propane for nearly 1/2 the cost AT THAT TIME. I was a purchaser for a large fortune 500 Co. for decades and I can tell you reliably that Universal was consistently guilty of price gouging." I'm very pleased Carson purchased Universal. The price with Carson is reasonable (at market levels for home delivery), and the service is absolutely fine. And Zepp , and the gals, are great! Bob R.

When they were Universal Propane they were an execelent company with excellent customer service…read morethey sold to some disgusting horrible customer service outfit called Carson Petroleum these people suck! (My car was having electrical issues and needed to go in to the mechanic ASAP and I didn't want to miss Suburban's arrival. )Sara said she couldn't say but it would be after 12 and the driver would call 30 before. No call. No show. Wasted all day waiting. No call the next day even after leaving a message with the after hours answering service. Apparently a driver called in sick so they had to double up on what the other driver needed to do. That's understandable. But the total lack of consideration for not calling and rescheduling or at least letting me know they wouldn't be out to me is inexcusable. Now why would I want to do business with a company who does this?

Beware. Cancelled my propane service because they would NEVER tell me what the price per gallon…read morewithout me having to give my address or account number. Not trustworthy. When they finally picked up the tank they charged $100 for a close out fee and .75 per gallon restock fee. None of these fees show a dollar amount on their web page www.suburbanpropne.com/fees. So they can charge what they want. They subtracted .75 per gallon on what was left in the tank. They also subtracted another .75 off the price per gallon on what you paid for it. Doubling the restock fee. When confronted with this, they corrected it very quickly. The only way we new they reduced the price on the refund by exactly .75 is because I kept the original receipt from the deliveries. Won't tell you the price per gallon and double dripping on fees.

I got the house plumbed and called to rent a tank, now they say if you don't use enough propane in a year they don't want your business. They need new management, they wasted money, sending someone to my home, then refused to do business with me. If they were paying attention to what Kate Brown just did, they'll know they're not going to get any new business, since Oregon is going completely electric. In the meantime, I'm stuck taking all my tanks to the local propane dealer and they're heavy. Their assumption that I won't use enough propane is ridiculous, I'd still pay a monthly rental fee and I cook three times a day, not normal stove use, plus if I had enough propane I'd add more propane using appliances.

I also asked what the going rate for propane was and she didn't know but guessed around $5 per gallon. It was as if she had better things to do than help out a potential customer. No thanks.
