Well here is my story...
Woke up on Thanksgiving, of course a holiday, to a 65 degree house. I immediately turned on a burner on the stove and got a 1" yellowish flame, yes no propane. Tried to get through to get a delivery and every time it got to scheduling it said we are closed call back when open. Finally was able to get through and did get a propane delivery about 3:30pm. The problem is because my tank was empty they did a leak test, yup I have a leak, they capped my tank with a special plug. I asked if I got the leak corrected, and I did, could the plumber reconnect the propane line? I was told yes. Correct answer...NO. I twice tried to get Horizo, to reconnect the line but neither of the techs carried the necessary SPECIAL tool. So, I tried to get AmeriGas to come out and reconnect the line, it is now Friday, 2 days later, and I got multiple answers from phone personnel and Supervisors at AmeriGas about when a tech will be able to reconnect the gas line. I got a possible arrival for Saturday, not, I got a maybe in 3 days, Not, and I got next week! Just to clarify we use propane for heating, cooking and Hot water, so we are almost dead in the water. They seem to give the either generic answers about the tech arrival or out right lie! So here it is Sunday and still no propane thank goodness I have a Edenpure quartz heater or we would have had to go to a hotel with our Tropical Parrots. I also told them I really disliked their Automated phone system since it kept telling me to call back when they were open! Not a good response when you need an emergency delivery. One more point of clarification, the first year we were with Amerigas we ran out of propane in November, came home to a cold house after vacationing in Floriday, and again in January 2 months later. The excuse was they just purchased our original provider, Paradee gas, and had no history! I never ran out of gas with Paradee and I have a hard time believing they did not have any records on our usage. Well, Still waiting to hear if they will be here today, Sunday??? Might call again because the knot on my head is going down from beating my head on the wall in fustration.
In Summary
The Good was we got Propane the same day.
The Bad could not get an answer about getting propane reconnected. read more
