I don't know what country I'm talking to there representative could barely understand them. The Merced number is ALWAYS BUSY. You are the top unreliable company I've ever come in contact with.. Do not do business with this company. By far the worst company ever. You can not speak to anyone in English, they can not help explain why your bill is so high. We pay at the time our tank is filled and one we need more propane we pay for a full tank. Well they charge that and every month they send a new bill with an estimated reading that is outrageou. This is by far the worst propane company ever in history. Never ever go with this company you cannot get anyone that speaks English on the phone. They were literally go every two weeks and fill your tank as much as they can, you never know month-to-month what you're getting charged very shady. I've never had this happen in my life. When you try to get someone on the phone They do not understand complicated situations. You'll have to send multiple emails and you still will get nobody that cares if you look, they have 18 pending lawsuits Looks like they're in trouble. Delivered to my house twice this week. The second time delivered a whole 1.3 gallons. So with the hazmat fee and fuel surcharge i got charged $27 for $4 worth of propane I didn't need. I tried calling to complain but you can only call the worthless corporate number that leaves you on hold forever. read more

I highly advise against using Amerigas. It takes forever to speak to a live representative, and it is doubtful they can handle the call quickly or correctly. We only used this company because there was currently an Amerigas rented tank on the property we purchased. We experienced issues with them unnecessarily sending out a driver to fill a small tank every week. The fireplace hooked up to it was only used 2-3 times, for short periods, throughout winter! The driver knew it was ridiculous, but was required to come out since it was generated on his log. After several weeks and repeated contact with Amerigas, that was FINALLY resolved. On other occasions, for different issues, we called, and the problems were not handled, or we would not get a call back as promised. We are currently updating our home and now need a sizeable inground tank. We switched to a local provider and can call and talk to a live person. I was never so relieved to cancel my business. After 2 days and an hour of chatting online with a representative, since I could not get through on the phone, I finally received a confirmation/reference number. Hopefully, their tank will be off our property within 4 weeks! read more

What a bunch of scam artists!!! No one answers and you go to a call center where no one is able to make any decisions... I requested half a tank refill and they filled it all the way. When I requested a pump out (as I didn't want to pay for the full tank refilled) they agreed. A few weeks later they did the pump out but the driver never listed it so no refund... I was able to show by how empty the tank was that the pump out happened but they still refused to refund me. After 2 dozen calls I gave up, went to Ferrellgas, and told them to take their stuff... Really disappointed with their Spvrs/Resolution agents making tons of promises, and never delivering... Whatever you do, do NOT trust them!! read more

The overall service and accountability sucks. The call center in the Philippines has no way to contact the local sites to confirm delivery dates. Nobody can provide answers. I seriously get the run around every time. I've been with Amerigas for 10 years. The last 2 have been garbage when it comes to service. Nobody takes accountability but they sure do take your money. the worst experience we have ever had. you order on line and pay up front. we have a 500 gallon tank. we ordered and paid $1,600.00 on march 3, 2022. we still have not been serviced. i called to check status of our order daily begining on the 7th. by the 9th we had completely ran out of propane. i could not get a date and time from amerigas. i tried to go to their local office to see if they could help me, only to find the gates locked and no one available. on monday the 14th i called amerigas again and was routed to 5 differant numbers. not one person could get a status update on our account. on tuesday, i had the same experience. on wednesday i called sierra propane who had me serviced on thursday. wednesday after making new arrangements with sierra, i called amerigas to cancel my order and get a refund. i was hung up on and disconnected from their chat service over and over again. took 3 hours before i finally was able to cancel order and demand a refund. a refund, remember $1,600.00 i will not receive for 10 to 14 days. read more

We chose AmeriGas to replace a local supplier who left our tanks empty 1-3 times per quarter. We reasoned that AmeriGas had a local presence and great infrastructure for managing deliveries. We are now an AmeriGas customer for the past 4 weeks. We have been allowed to go empty 3 times so far. The CSR is "sorry for the inconvenience". "Sorry" is allowing a manufacturer to run dry because a delivery truck broke down. Then dispatching another truck 2 days later that filled somebody's tanks but recorded that ours were filled. That's sorry. Account Manager did a fine job on-boarding us. She unfortunately is trusting the rest of the team to support her and is getting let down at every turn. read more

Poor customer service and delays in delivery service. Company has gone downhill. We've been with Amerigas for over a decade. Our tank was at 20% when we called for a delivery service, it is now 25 days later and still nothing. We have cancelled and closed our account with Amerigas. We were given the run around and was told they attempted delivery but because no one was home, they did not deliver even though someone was home at the time. My brother called to ask and was told it wasn't due to someone not being present but because we had dogs on the property that they were not able to provide service. We've had dogs the entire time and this has never been an issue. My brother and I have been in communication with customer service multiple times and still no delivery service. We have not been able to contact anyone at the local office and have been in contact with customer service via their 24/7 emergency line- 800-805-0659; best number to use if you need to reach a person. I called yesterday and was told they would put in an expediated request for delivery. If I don't hear from the local office by 8:30am regarding an ETA since they open at 7, for me to contact them. I also inquired about the leak test and fees involved and was told we would be billed for the leak test if one was required since our tank is currently sitting at 7%. I told them I was not going to pay for the leak test when we had requested delivery at 20%. It's been almost a month and still have not been successful in getting a delivery. Next day, 8:40am and no update so I called Amerigas and was told no one had assigned any driver to come out at the moment, that I would need to check back later in the day. Come noon, I called again and was told no one had been assigned the request for delivery and because it was switched from expediated to emergency delivery that I would now need to wait until 4pm, after the office closes to get a delivery. The on-call person would get the request and make the delivery. I asked if she could confirm delivery, but she said it was up to the local office and whether it would be routed to the appropriate person. If this was the case, why was I told to call back at noon for an ETA? Then was told the delivery would not be happening until after hours because it's then been moved to an emergency request? So I called a different company, Sierra Propane and got service for the following day, bam! Just like that, Sierra Propane was able to make it happen. Go with them, they are responsive and will make you a priority! Following all this, I called Amerigas 3 times to close our account. The first time I was transferred to the billing department and was told she couldn't do anything for me, that I would need to talk to someone in the sales department. I was livid at this time and said that was not necessary and asked to speak to a supervisor. I got hung up on... unbelievable! I called back, got transferred to the service department and the lady tells me our account was closed on December 2020. Umm, how could this be possible? My brother just made a payment 25 days ago for a delivery. And side note here, Amerigas only delivers once you've made a payment so delivery is ONLY available before service, unreal. Usually service is rendered first and then payment afterwards, but whatever works for a company that's going under. I asked to speak to a supervisor and was told that no one was available. When I asked when I could, the lady said someone would reach out to me within 72 hours. I can't wait to file my complaint and to let the supervisor know their employees need better customer service training. A lot of the employees in customer service were rude and spoke over me while I was trying to explain the situation. I called back a third time and luckily, the person I spoke to was helpful and was able to cancel the service request that was supposed to be coming and to close our account. She apologized for the mix-up and said the account was previously closed due to a transfer in account holder name. Not sure how this happened in December 2020 when the account transfer happened years before that, but I didn't want to make a point of it. Let's hope their tank gets picked up within the 1-2 week timeframe and not 6 months like one of the other reviews mentioned. How a company like this can function is astonishing, please, please do not waste your time with Amerigas. read more

I have had Amerigas propane for my home delivery, for many years. I have never experienced such poor customer service from this or another business. I ordered my delivery of propane ,this time, I waited several weeks. During this time I called them several times during which they scheduled numerous appointments. They never came nor called to reschedule or say why they weren't coming. Finally they brought the propane. I was home but they did not attempt to let me know they were here by any means, no call no knock no honk. So they said I eas not home so they placed a lock on my tank. I called asap upon finding what had happened. I again called numerous times with appointments set with no show. It has now been a month and they have filled their agreement I am a senior and desperately need this service. I highly recommend anyone looking for this service to stay gar away from Amerigas! read more

We've tried to contact Amerigas in Oakhurst, Ca to let them know we plan to put in T-posts for a fence in our backyard. Had an appointment set up...or so we thought...Nobody showed up! Called back to find out what happened and why no one came out to check and mark where propane gas line runs from the tank to the house. Was told they'd set up a new appointment. Again, NO SHOW!!! If this wasn't enough to raise our blood pressures, we ended up talking to someone "in the Philippines". I asked why are talking to the Philippines when we are "in the United States". The female with a very heavy accent said that Amerigas "outsources to the Philippines now". And then the coup de grâce was when we were charged an extra $199.00 for the same bill. I tried to explain to the person (in the Philippines) that the first payment of $199 (due date May 30, 2023) was paid with my personal bank check which I sent to the address on Amerigas' payment envelope and to the payment center in Pasadena, Ca. In the meantime, the next bill came due and I paid it which was posted to my account online. That's when I noticed that two (2) payments were shown for my May 30, 2023 due date. After trying to explain where they went wrong, the customer service representative said and assured me that they "will reimburse me with a check from Amerigas for $199 and that it would take 7 to 14 business days for us to receive". Well, we've got two (2) more business days to go as of now July 12, 2023 to see if we get our reimbursement. We shall see! I tried to ask the person (supposedly) helping me, "Why not just credit my account?" She said, "We can only send you a check." I hate Amerigas and we intend to close our account with them. Horrible, horrible company. I had an emergency order on December 28th and they never came. Had another 24 hour emergency order on January 7th, they never came. Had another emergency order on January 23rd, as I ran completely out of propane. The operators all said they are working 24-7 to deliver propane. There is nobody delivering propane 24 hours a day! Now I am completely out of propane for 3 days and there is no way to get propane from them or anybody else! The news companies don't care, the Nevada Liquified Petroleum Board person is not at their desk for the last 4 hours, no other propane companies can come fill the tank. We have a revolving account and should never be out of gas. Well we ran out, the night before Christmas Eve, 2020. Called Thursday and Christmas day. They said they put an emergency on it but 4 days later they still have not shown or called. No heat for 4 days, thru Christmas. 30 degrees in the house at night up to 53 degrees during the day. They did call on Christmas day to say they wouldn't be coming. FYI, do not use this business if you depend on heat to keep you alive. Good luck. I am a business customer and have been with Amerigas for years. Last year there must have been a change. They used to come by every couple months to check our propane level and top it off. Now my last delivery was in August. I am completely out of propane, and have called numerous times to get a delivery. Each time I call I have to go through the issue 3 times! The delivery was supposed to be done on an emergency basis. What a joke! Here we are several days later, still no propane!!! I had payed in advance last year too!!!!! Amerigas Propane in Merced is a fraudulent company. We signed a customer service contract with the company that calls for regular propane deliveries to our ranch in Catheys Valley as much as once a month we were told, we are lucky to get them here once or twice a year. We were supposed to get our propane tank filled today before a MAJOR winter storm arrives with impassable roads, flooding, trees down, etc. and their driver "Joe' NFD came up with about three different stories on why he shined us on today on our badly needed propane delivery with our tank that services two houses very low. First it was because we did not answer the telephone when he called (we were out on our ranch with our horses) and they are supposed to respond whether we are here or at work. We keep the ranch road open and our propane tank accessible. Then it was that we have a dirt road when in fact it is mostly gravel and hard packed in the few dirt spots he said that he was worried about getting stuck we told him that we just had several large trucks go in and out the previous day. Finally it was because he used up all of his propane on our ranch neighbors who have a DIRT ROAD on a HILL! We are going to 86 these chumps and use another propane company. Our last ranch was in SW Shasta County at 4100 foot elevation three miles up a dirt road well off the grid no neighbors full time for over three miles and our propane driver there chained up in the snow and always got to us when he could unless there was a major winter storm. Joe whines like a child when there are a few mud puddles on our road. We will be contacting the Better Business Bureau to file an official customer complaint against this company they really should be shut down. read more

We have been a customer of AmeriGas for 16 years. It was Central Valley Propane originally. We have automatic delivery of propane. Our delivery did not come and it was Friday night on Thanksgiving weekend. We called their emergency number on Saturday from 4:00 a.m. and throughout the day. We were told they were contacting the driver but had no response - we received that answer for about 8 hours. Then we were told the driver was out of hours and couldn't work anymore. Then they were contacting managers and trying to get a second driver. We heard that for a while. Then we were told by two different people during two different phone calls that a delivery was scheduled for the next day-Sunday morning. No delivery came as promised. After a few more phone calls we're told they can't promise what day we'll get the delivery. I'm on the phone again and it's Monday morning. Only a 89 minute wait! During the wait time I get to hear their commercials - 'Never run out of propane again! Sign up for automatic delivery!' Right.... I would post negative stars if the site would allow it. read more

i really hate leaving bad reviews. I have only ever done it one other time in my 37 years. I try to give people/companies the benefit of the doubt most of the time but today marks the second instance in my 4 months of service with Americgas that the scheduled date/time of appt come and go with nothing. no call no delivery. On both occasions myself or sister had to call to find out what happened. the first time we were told that we got "bumped" for an emergency. ok but no one reached out. we end up calling and to get an appointment a WEEK later. today comes and goes, nothing. we call and they confirm they are coming within the hour. that comes and goes and then they say we NEVER had an appointment. there are 3 kids in my household and even if there wasn't, this is completely unacceptable. I'm calling my property manager and owner to switch companies and they can get their tank when we decide to move out. read more

Their customer service is horrible! We cancelled service with them in December and they waited until May (6 months AFTER we cancelled, during Covid19) to come pick up their tank! When I called them to cancel service they advised me of a service fee to pick up their tank. I requested a copy of my contract (because I wanted to see what they charge for a tank pick up) it wasn't until May that they picked up their tank and billed me. I called again to request a copy of the contract and dispute the charge. I was told I needed to try to resolve the issue with the district manager (Bill Wilp). He had 72 business hours to call me back (if they couldn't email/mail me a contract what hope did I have for a call back) this is the third time I called customer service and now I'm waiting for the area manger to call me to see if we can come to some conclusion. Horrible, horrible service. I've been waiting 3 weeks for propane delivery. Call after call with no supervisor response and broken assurances. Twice this week been guaranteed we are now on "expedited delivery," delivery within 24 hrs. 72 hrs after the last 24hr "guarantee," have been assured the driver is in route. Have now waited all day, with no delivery. The service line (which has zero local connection) is now closed. 4 year customer, will be canceling service and advising neighbors to do so as well. Do yourself a favor and find another company to do business with. Our local alternative has real offices with local staff at nearly $1.00/gal cheaper pricing. read more

A few months ago I had an issue with Amerigas over loss propane from a leaky valve on the tank we pay rent on to Amerigas. I sent a letter to the local office asking to be compensated for the propane I loss. My request was given to Bill Wilt the District Manager for Amerigas. He made a offer for compensation and I made a counter offer. The final compensation was something that we both agreed was fair to each side. When I wrote the letter I thought I was going to be ignored but Bill was very fair to me in handling my problem. Having been a Amerigas customer for many years and because of the way this was handled by Bill I will continue with Amerigas for many more years. read more

I am new to Amerigas and was charged a fee to come look at my tank and a seperate fee to inspect it for leaks. At the time of signing up they told me the propane would be delivered the next day. 2 weeks later they come out and delivered the propane and in doing so checked to make sure there where no leaks. So was it really necessary for the first person to do this since they do it when they fill the tank anyways? Well I understand companies try to maximize profit so whatever. But then the tank starts making a hissing sound. It is leaking from a valve they neither person from Amerigas checked. I called to report the problem and 6 hours later a man show up in a rental car from out of state and says that there is nothing he can do to fix the leak and that he will have someone else come out. A week later I call and they say there is no open ticket for this but they will open one up and put and rush on it. Two weeks later I notice an Amerigas truck at a neighbors house and ask if he is here for my house as I know my neighbors are not home. I tell him my tank has a leak and he tries to fix it but just makes it worse. So he calls someone else to come out and fix the issue they come out and fix the leak but the leak comes back within 24hrs because this technician used an old cap that broke from the pressure of the tank within 12 hrs. They also required to have my credit card on file and then sent me a bill which I paid and they also charged my credit card. They wont reverse the charges and want to leave it as a credit on my account. I am trying to close my account to get my money back but I been on hold for over one and a half hours. read more
