Bought 5 new tires for my truck at American Tire in Simi Valley and had a terrible experience. While I was waiting far longer than customers who arrived after me, I watched two technicians tossing a lug nut back and forth like they were playing catch. My truck wasn't finished until they were closing up. When I got home, I discovered a wheel stud had been snapped off. Looking back, it appears the lug nut they were playing with may have been from my damaged wheel. I purchased 4 new tires in March, the tire light came on the next day and it started making a weird noise. We had to drive it with this issue out of town since we had plans. I went back to the tire shop and explained what happened, they barely did anything to resolve the issue and claimed it was a warped rotor. Braaaap! Braaap!.. that wasn't a machine gun I heard, it was the sound of multiple Impact wrenches furiously taking off my wheels to do a literal PIT STOP tire change. My appointment was for 8:45, I got there at 8:35. Polite gent checked me in, I handed him the key. He said, about 45 minutes. As I went to the lil Boyz room, he said, no wait, It'll be 10. I said Ten??? He said yes. The team had 4 guys working on it, in tandem like a trained pit crew. Tires off, two on separate machines, two in the on deck circle ready to go. Bead set, off to the balancer, the other tires on the machine. I pulled into my driveway at 9:07. AMAZING. Make the appointment, earlier is better. These guys were phenomenal and that's why I keep buying tires here. 4 new Falkens later the car is driving quiet, smooth and safe. I have been taking my travel trailer to them for the last 8 years. This last time they replaced all 4 tires and I headed out on a 1500 mile trip mostly through the desert. I discovered 2 of the tires had slow leaks at the beging of the trip and one more developed durring the trip, I would have to pump them up every 2 to 4 days. After 2 weeks I got to a large enough city to find a 'discount tire' (same company) and had them inspected. With a quick glace the serviceman saw that all 4 stems were orginial and deteriorating and needed to be replaced. Went for a simple tire rotation and balance service. Everything was fine making an appointment and getting the service. Didn't realize until next day they didn't even rotate one side. Called to get helped, guy on the phone wasn't very helpful and tried to make an appointment for the following week, walked in instead, and had to wait a couple hours just for the car to get pulled in with no urgency to resolve their mistake. So, I stated that one of my tire seems leaking and being a first-responder, I cannot be late at work nor experience a flat tire heading to all my destinations. Ashton promised to take care of me and will make sure that my tire will be in tiptop shape when I leave. True to his promise, my tire was fixed, and was in perfect shape and Jenni left. I went to patch up my front left tire that had a nail lodged in it. they got to me pretty fast, but upon the person inspecting the tire, they also checked the tread of all the other tires, which I didn't say had any problems. The guy said that my Tread was pretty low, but they could definitely patch It up. however, when we went to the checkout, he started looking up tires for me to purchase, which I never asked. I only asked for the tire repair. He then stopped and added me to the list for my tire repair that should only take about 20 to maybe 30 minutes to do if to busy, but I had to wait a hour and a half. after that hour and a half, another person that wasn't the original guy that helped me came to me and said that since the tread was too low I had to buy two new tires. I questioned that his co worker told me that they could definitely patch it up, but he told me that I was wrong because of the tread. I simply stated that his own coworker said it was fine and he scanned everything to see if it was ok. He said His own coworker was wrong and that I definitely need new tires. I told him I was okay and walked out. I went immediately to Tony's tires down the street and told them what happened at America's tire and they scoffed and told me that my tire was good to get patched up and that they were lying. I got my tire patched up in 15 minutes by Tony's tires when Americas tire was telling me that I had to get new ones. Americas tire said that their repair was free, made me wait, and told me instead of a free patch, I have to buy new tires. Tony's was 25 dollars and got it done almost immediately. read more

A large bolt was stuck in my front tire. I called the nearest America's Tire, which was 5 minutes away. They close at 5pm, and it was 4:57 when I called. Sales associate scanned my tires with his handheld device then told me they were at a 1 and 2 (red zone) of their tread wear scale so they couldn't repair and I should replace. I've been coming here for YEARS always have had a good experience/service until my last visit. I had some tires swapped onto some wheels and they destroyed the hole that the lug nuts go into on one of them. Another wheel is scratched up a bit in the same area but none are nearly as bad as the one pictured. This isn't even a hard thing to avoid so it's just a careless mistake on whoever's part that put this wheel on. This is the only place I'll go for tires or any tire-related issues. I went in yesterday, thinking I needed a new rear tire, but they were able to patch it up for free, which was awesome. The only downside is the wait time--if you don't have an appointment, it's usually about 1-2 hours. So, I'd definitely recommend calling ahead to schedule something. What I really appreciate is their transparency. They have a glass wall where you can see them working on your car, plus a monitor that shows what they're doing on their computer. In the past, knowing that they always give exceptional service I trusted that they would take care of me as they always do. I asked PK if he could please ask inside to fix my tire. Full disclosure-,I've been a loyal customer of this chain for over 25 years because they always take good care of me and my car and I can drive right in with a problem and they always have a solution. Today I had a low speed blowout on one of my tires and needed to be towed. I called them to confirm they had the right tires in stock so that when I arrived (thanks AAA and Swink's Towing), they were already halfway ready for me.
