I have been a loyal Randy's Tires customer for at least 20 years. I have bought numerous sets of tires and had countless oil changes and other tire services. They have been the only place we've taken my wife's car for oil changes since we bought it. On my last oil change I was told that the threads on the oil plan were stripped and I needed to take it somewhere else to get it repaired. I didn't think much about it until today when I took the car to another shop for the suggested repairs. It is going to cost me $1,768 to get a new oil pan !!! The mechanic, which I have known for a very long time, said it was stripped and someone tried to fix it and just made it worse and unrepairable. I just called Randy's and they denied responsibility. I told them they were the only place that has ever done an oil change and it is impossible that they didn't cause the damage. The rest of the conversation went nowhere. I always try to support local businesses. But when they damage my car, cost me $1,768, and don't even consider taking responsibility, they have just lost a long time customer. I started coming here years ago when my car needed new tires. They were super kind and weren't trying to upsell me anything. Got my new tires and I was on my merry way. Eventually I came back because they do oil change and tire rotation as well. They will usually ask me to leave my car which is no problem because I know if I'm coming here they will be busy and it will take some time! I recently came in when I noticed one of my tires was low on air, I checked it out and saw there was a nail there. I looked around google in my area (not Moorpark) to see if I can get it taken care of. On my way there I decided to just drive to Randy's because it is the better option! I never ever ever write reviews, And if I do, it's usually to make people aware of a negative experience. But it just felt like I would be doing a disservice to women if I didn't share my recent experience here. Normally, going to any business that is men centered is uncomfortable for women going in solo. However I was treated like an equal from the moment I walked in here instead of an opportunity to upsell. I had one nail in my tire and after doing a lot of research, I had came to my own conclusion that I would probably have to have the entire tire replaced because of where it was at. It was such a nice surprise when he told me that not only did I have one tire that was punctured, but two BUT instead of forcing me to swap two tires for hundreds of dollars they were able to fix both repairs for $60. I went to the drive-through car wash and, while I was drying my car, I noticed I had a very large nail/tack in a tire. I did a quick search online and Randy's tires came up. As it's close to my house, I decided to go there. They told me that because of where the puncture was I should replace my tire and I was fine with that. I initially took my car with a flat to another shop and pointed out a gouge that I thought was the issue. They plugged it and sent me on my way, but the next morning, my tire was flat again. The other shop had just assumed the gouge was the problem and didn't even check to see if it was holding air properly. It turns out there was actually a puncture in the middle of the tire that they missed entirely. Thankfully, I took my car to Randy's Tires, and they immediately took care of everything. They found the puncture, cleaned up the sloppy plug from the other shop, and had me back on the road in no time. Junior, the tech who helped me, was extremely friendly and helpful. I went to Randy's Tires for a tire rotation and what I thought was a nail in my tire. I called before going and was told I would be in and out in a half hour. Upon arrival I was immediately greeted by Josue. I asked him to inspect all of the tires while doing the rotation to see if there were any other visible issues.
