The views we watched by full-time RVers were all positive. We worked with Jasmine to make sure we had all our paperwork done and in on time. She let us know everything was in order. She did let us know the VIN number of our trade-in was needed. Unfortunately, we were already on our way to Americas Mailbox and didn't have that information with us. When we arrived at Americas Mailbox, we talked with Bethany and the manager. Bethany clearly explained why we needed it. We were able to email the information to her that late afternoon. The next day she stood in line at the Treasurer's office and got our license plate. She called at 9:00 that morning and asked us to come over to the office - she had something for us. Ordinarily, it would take at least 3 days for the paperwork to be completed and more days to get our plate sent to us. We had arrived at Box Elder just to do this one task and then leave. We really didn't want to leave without having the plate. She was wonderful! Also, we would like to thank the manager. He was very supportive. They definitely went out of their way to help us. Thank you so much for coming to our rescue! Great customer service! read more

Their mail services require you to go to two different websites, each with it's own login, to review, scan, and send your mail. The system is clumsy at best, incompetent, at worst. read more

The service started out great when we first joined in December 2017, but unfortunately, that is no longer the case. I've called and stressed concerns about not getting our mail in a timely manner, only to get excuses; it's never their fault, it's either the weather or they are short staffed. Personally, it's not my problem that you are short-staffed, that's a management issue (weather happens and is uncontrollable). I was especially irritated when I received a long email regarding upgrades to their website and how they are doing their best but are short staffed for such a large volume of business, and to call them if you have problems but don't post it on social media, What??? I will not call with any issues ai have as it never fails, I hang up completely agitated because there has not once been a solution to my problem, but rather, excuses. I will give an honest review and if anyone on social media asks me about them, I will give them MY experience which is no longer a positive one. I am biding time until renewal, at which time I will be switching mail services. P.S. We do not use their vehicle registration or license services, we do it ourselves. So my review is based strictly on the mail services. read more

worst customer service I have ever received in my life. The last cussed me out and was so rude to me.

I am willing to pay whatever is necessary to find a different company. Their ability to answer phone calls is horrible -- not enough employees. Then the woman that answers calls you "hon" over and over again -- obviously untrained. The final straw to a litany of problems with this company was when my receipt went to spam because someone was too lazy to enter in a subject. Then the receipt showed that I had paid a check for part of my bill and the rest was billed to some unknown credit card -- not mine thankfully! However, they had already cashed my check for the full amount owed. Instead of writing e-mails and explanations pages longer than necessary, get additional staff and train them. read more

They handle the mail ok..... I would not recommend them to assist with vehicle registrations. I have used them several time. Every time it take over a month to get your plates. They do not return phone calls or emails. They will apologize and claim they are short average wait time to call is over 30 minutes. read more

I called a week in advance and made an appointment. I drove 60 miles from Spearfish only to find they have no record of my appointment but I could wait a couple hours and they could help me. If they can't keep track of appointments I don't trust them with my mail and registration. read more

Great customer service! Jazmine in Vehicle Registration was excellent at communicating with me and making sure I had all the options I needed to make my decisions. Highly recommend this business. read more

We've been using Americas Mailbox for mail service for about six months and we've been very happy with the service. With retirement just weeks away and plans to travel the country, my husband and I have changed residency to South Dakota. My visit to Americas Mailbox to make this change has been great. The staff are friendly, patient, and knowledgeable. They advised me of what I would need to bring and provided the necessary documentation for establishing residency. They explained the process, provided instructions, and directions to the facilities I needed to visit. I became a resident, got my new DL, and transferred my cars all within 3 hours. I stayed at Americas Mailbox for my visit. My room was comfortable and clean. Their location was very convenient to Rapid City and the places I needed to go to take care of my business as well as convenient to the airport. I highly recommend AM! read more

Excellent customer service!! Worked mainly with Lisa in vehicle registration..she went above & beyond & above & beyond again! More twist & turns working with Dmv then most circus acts...not kidding even a little. Thought for sure Dmv was going to ask for a blood sample or my first born...but Lisa was great through it all -anyone else would have thrown in the towel but not Lisa -like a prizefighter she returned each jab with a cross hook!! Boom! She was victorious! And I was blessed & humbled to have witnessed it all. She deserves a fat raise but all she asked for was a review...here you go Lisa it's the very least I could have done-thank you for your commitment to excellence read more

Oh were to start! The campground is a dust bowl in the wind and a mud pit in the rain. It is surrounded by an upcoming industrial park and when I was there the earth moving machines ran all day and dust blew everywhere. Register your own vehicle through another service. They claim 7-10 days, more like 7-10 weeks. They under pay their workers so bad that no one stays very long. The ones who remain have terrible bad attitude and lack any customer service experience. They over charged me on my registration and then said I would have to wait for the refund to be mailed to me by the county. Any time you receive a package, there is a storage fee charge added to your account because they received it. They even charged me extra for a letter sized padded enveloped that was sent there. Forget about Americas Best insurance quotes, they are ridiculously high and will not insure any self builds or schoolies. They are only interested in high cost policies for big rigs and class A's. Americas Worst Insurance is more like it. On the positive side they do provide a mail forwarding service and give you an address. Make note banks, credit cards and FFL gun purchases and background checks are no good with this address. PMB is not recognized by the Feds since Bush 2 took away our rights under the Patriot act after 9/11. You must give AMB 90 days notice to cancel (they want their money) and they will not down grade your membership to a cheaper plan. I am sure there is more, but do you really need more to shop somewhere else? read more

Before we signed up, I actually called the owners cell phone and they answered every question we had and explain about the process of becoming a resident and vehicle registrations. We haven't physically been there, but every time I call they answer with a smile, are friendly and answer my questions. If I email, they reply usually the same day. Great company read more

Hugely overpriced in relation to the competition. They make you call in advance before you can come in to pick up your mail, yet you can rarely get them on the phone. They tie you up in rigmarole to do the simplest things. I just don't know what's up with these people. When I tried to end my contract they pointed to some fine print that said I wasn't allowed to do so for three months, saying that it's Post Office regulations. It's not; I checked into it. My advice -- skip these people. There are other mail forwarders in town where you can come in and pick up your mail anytime and they even give you a key for off hours. I had a UPS store box for years that did that for a lot less money and a lot friendlier and more efficient service. They forwarded my mail anytime I wanted with no hassle; Others, I've heard do the same. No reason to pay more for poorer service. read more

At first I was OK with their service. the people that do they're jobs are in- deed friendly and helpful. Over my two years of dealing with the owners,is where problems come up. The owners blame screw ups on computer problems every time - GET A NEW NEW PROGRAMMER!! Currently we are in Alaska, we needed some of our mail. normally we do not get our mail sent here and there. I requested our mail to be shipped to Fairbanks - general delivery, the next day we got a e-mail stating our account had been "frozen" for non-payment. Despite they have my card on file, for payment, and in-fact my card had already been billed and payment that card had been made by me. Plus we had over $150.00 prepaid postage in our account with AM. Called, the person answering my call, checked and the account had been paid and didn't have reason are the problem, other then again blaming it on their system. I asked that my mail be shipped "one day mail" at their expense. He had to check on that. He talked to Barb (co-owner), she denied it and said priory mail is the best they could do. But he said it would go out that day, Friday, and he personally guaranteed that. Normally when mail goes out they said a email with tracking info. No notification on Friday, Saturday or Sunday. Sunday afternoon I call Don (the owner). he checked via his phone and it was scheduled for shipment on Monday the 15th, and there was no way it could go out prior to that. So at our expense we had to extend our stay and change 5 other reservation we have. Problems like this could have been handled so easy. Which prompted this lengthy complaint. My suggestion is to check around before deciding on a mail service. read more

Was treated fairly decently at first. Went down hill from there. One of the women there decided she did not care for me for some reason and when I went in for my mail would NOT help me. She helped the man BEHIND me and when he said I was first she said, " Well, someone else can help her. " She, as well, tried to charge me $10 more per night when the owners were out of town INSISTING I had been paying this all along. Trying to make a bit extra for herself I am sure. I was not told the correct documents I needed for my license but lucky enough, I had my papers in the RV at the DMV and the man there was VERY nice. I wanted them to take care of the RV registration as wells they say they are glad to do this FOR you but when I ask I was told that all I had to do was drive there myself. I do not get all my mail on time. My bank statements are a month or two behind and I was given a DumbDumb sucker in my package once. Cute. I don't understand what is going on there but rude people do not have ANY place working at a business such as this. I am moving mine elsewhere. read more

we are new to start fulltime rv'ing, we are from calif. and like alot of people in calif. we want to get out of this state, i was born and raise in calif. have have seen it going down the drain, high taxes, gas, everything, we started the move everything to south dakota for we can retire. we chose americans mailbox, so we made it a trip and drove in oct.2021 and started the process of changing our cars to south dakota we got our driver license, it was great getting our driver license the same day, we stayed at there campground, it was ok but they could use some grass and trees, be nice if they had a store to buy supplies, special shout out to shawen, he handle out vehicle registration, he did a fantastic job and very professional, anyways looking forward to returning soon read more

Be very careful! They know nothing! These people & South Dakota at Americas "Male" Box & South Dakota Drivers License agency don't have a clue as to what documents a woman needs for a South Dakota drivers license. I have made 2 very long trips with 10 forms of ID...valid state drivers license with photo, valid state ID with photo, social security card, birth certificate, SD hotel receipt, 2 pieces of mail, marriage license for current & previous marriages, death certificate for deceased first husband & now they tell me I need divorce documents from my first marriage. He's been dead 25 years! Do I dig him up & take him to the court house to sign divorce papers? Do they need a swab of my shit to run a DNA analysis?....My current husband got his SD DL with only 3 of 4 required documents! read more

Americas Way RV park - pass this one by. Very overpriced for what you don't get. Sites all back in, very small, open your door and about touch your neighbor. No picnic tables, no fire rings, outdoor use not encouraged. Has WiFi but for the most part does not work. Cable TV, four channels, your RV antenna with get 4X as many. No trees or cover, spaces to snall. NO discounts for membrs. Mail services just OK. read more

Used to be great in 2013 but now a nightmare - they updated website and been nothing but trouble since . Shame as otherwise great facility just the technical IT side sucks. read more

One of only two South Dakota mail forwarding companies that I found with virtual mailbox and mail forwarding service. What other company would the owners give their personal cell #'s to their customers? Great friendly customer service! The RV park is under construction and should be a big improvement when done. The current RV park is a place to park in a convenient location to the Rapid City area. The park is nothing fancy, but that's why you have your RV isn't it? Considering most folks that I ran into during our stay were just like us, passing through to get Drivers Licenses and vehicles registered, and it was just what we needed. Now on to the Hills and the great life part... I may upgrade to five stars when the RV park construction is finished. read more

My wife and I stayed here for a week while we became South Dakota residents and signed up for their mailbox service. Although they are upgrading the campground it was nothing special, but the folks were super friendly and very helpful while we were transitioning to become South Dakota residence. Definitely recommend their service. If you have any questions just call them on the phone as everyone we talked with was very friendly and helpful read more

Americas Mailbox is phenomenal! They take a very complex transition of residency and try to spell out every possible piece of the puzzle. They make it possible to live full time on the road but still have an address and get your mail. They are like family that wants to help you do these tasks of life so you can be off having fun. We love America's Mailbox and thank them for all of their support during our transition to fulltime RVing! read more

My wife and I have been with these folks for about 2 years so far. We are 100% pleased with all the services they have provided us, from mail service, car registration, to even staying in one of there rooms. The rv spots look a little for just the overnighter passing through but the people here have been 100% professional and helpful on everything we have asked. Thank you for everything. :) read more

If you can get them to answer the phone, they are very friendly. BUT, that is all you will get. You are paying top dollar and not getting accurate information on your mail arrival and overcharged on every mail forward request every time. And you can't find out if you have any mail until late in the afternoon and must request mail to be sent to you by 7 am. Even if its being sent overnight, they will not drive the couple miles to the post office but will wait until the next day pickup. Worst service ever! We will be switching to Sioux Falls and save big on car and health insursnce, more than makes up for the wheel tax! read more

I'm rating this business as a mail forwarding business and not an RV campground. Unfortunately, I'm going to have to give this business a 1-star review in mail handling. They recently lost a few packages of mine, including what was a tablet, a few books of checks, and a debit card. I'm going to give them some time to find these items and will update my review if they are found but I'm not holding out for hope. If they're not found, I don't even know what my recourse would be. Furthermore, there have been times when I've scheduled a pickup expecting to pick up some items I know were delivered only for one of the front desk receptionists to tell me they don't have it. I then have to insist that they go back and talk to the mail handlers and a few minutes later, the item turns up. I cannot recommend this business to anyone and would tell you to look elsewhere. I continue to use it only because it's my only choice right now. read more

So we sing up for the service thinking it would be nice to have a home base mail box to send and get mail form witch works great for that but to get your tags and tabs though them is a nightmare if I knew then what I know now I would have save our money and just paid to have it done in our home state. its been a few months now and still now tag after we sent everything in that they requested when I call I was mad and they gave me a ear full so I called Don the man that owns this business found his cell phone on the web sit it self call if you have any trouble they said so I did so and the wife was very rude to me as well telling me I should call the main office made me feel like they didn't even care so if I was you and all save your money or go find a another mailing service because this one is not it sorry to say im going to be writing the BBB and tell them how they treat people witch it not great hope this help people out there read more

This is a great place to stay for a few days, but the sites are too small for extended stays. This might be great if you are rich and never live in South Dakota. They almost require you to forward your mail. E.g., they recommend you keep at last $200 in your account for mail forwarding. On their website you can find a link to add funds, but no links to request a refund. If you ask for a refund of your deposit, they reply with an email asking you to add funds! They will not tell you if you have any mail to forward. They tell you to schedule a forwarding and you will receive a post card stating that you have no mail to forward, and of course you pay their forwarding fees for that post card. When I signed up for their service, I informed them that I was not interested in mail forwarding and I would pick my mail and packages up at their office. If you live there you have to schedule a mail pickup, so you cannot pickup your mail the day it is delivered. I have used other mail forwarding services and was able to pick up my packages and mail the day it arrived, AND, they send me an email letting me know that mail or a package has arrived. America's Mailbox will forward all of your packages and letters for you, however, you cannot ship any letters or packages from their office (?????). Again, other mail forwarding services allow you to send mail and packages from their offices. There is a complicated mechanism to cancel your account. On their website, you can find links to renew your account, but you will not find any links to cancel your account. They require your ID and other documents signed in order for the account to be canceled. Every time I requested a cancellation, I got a reply asking for me to give them money to renew! Since my account has expired, they told me they will continue receiving and keeping my mail until I renew, but still, will not tell me what mail I have. Since I did not renew, they renewed for me by withdrawing money from my deposit instead of refunding my deposit. I appreciate the lengthy rebuttal posted. That rebuttal seems to show an interest in quality service, however, it is not the quality that I need. E.g., it states that 30% do not have emails, so they don't send email notifications about mail/package arrivals to the 70% of their customers that do. read more

This has been one of the worst decisions I have ever made. After spending hundreds of dollars on a "Titanium" package, absolutely nothing went right from the very beginning. I had to contact the owners on several (probably about 6) occasions, who promised me they would rectify the situations... did that happen??? No!!! Several times I requested my money back due to my dissatisfaction, but was told that was not an option. Finally my year of torture with them came to an end. Unfortunately, one of my bills came to my old PMB box with them after my annual contract expired. Mind you, I still had almost $20 left in my account with them. When I called and asked them to forward this bill to my new permanent address using the balance in my account, they refused! They told me I had to renew my contract with them for at least 2 months in order for them to send the bill to my new address. Previously, I had worked with Escappees, and they were fabulous! Wish I had continued with them but thought I would try something new. Oh, and by the way, there "campground" is the worst place I have ever stayed in. No running water, campers packed in like sardines, and rude staff members. read more
