I had a great experience working with American Pride Builders, and I want to specifically shout out Emmanuel, the owner, for his professionalism and attention to detail. We had water intrusion and rotten wood around a large portrait window, along with stucco damage that needed repair. Emmanuel came out for a free consultation and immediately identified where the water was coming in from. Emmanuel's team not only handled that portrait window flawlessly, but they also replaced two windowsills entirely, re-sealed all my other windows which were not properly installed at first, and sanded, primed, and painted all the other sills around the house. What began as a kitchen remodel became a total house makeover. After my experience with Emmanual and the crew of American Pride Home Builders, i would not hesitate to call on them again. When I decide to build our ADU, they will be the only number I will call. They gained and then qualified my trust wholeheartedly. We began with a planned kitchen remodel, fully aware that our 1952 home would need additional hidden repairs. Opening the walls, we found cloth wrapped wiring as well as an extension cord behind the wall feeding power to our washer and dryer. each step led us to additional needed repairs which, in the end, included a low amp breaker box, whole house rewiring, dry rotten windows and roof structure, termite damage in our bathroom and garage, blown in attic insulation, cracks in our foundation, and interior door issues. We also had our roof replaced, our bathroom remodeled, our floors completely recovered throughout, Interior and exterior painted and even had our front porch torn out and reconfigured and designed. Some of these additions to the remodel were ideas that we had during construction aside from the necessary obstacles we needed to address before we could continue forward. I mention all of the changes because, at each stage, Emmanuel sat us down and discussed the options we faced, the additions to cost, and the level of importance. He arranged all of the inspector visits, so that the whole job was fully permitted and recorded with the city and county. Emmanuel went with us to pick out everything for the kitchen (cabinets, tile, countertops, fixtures, and appliances. He kept us fully aware of all the costs in our choices. He comforted us through all of the surprises, often acting as more of a counselor that a contractor. American Pride Builders had a crew working at our home for 5 to 6 days a week, unless we were waiting for an inspection. Even then, they always had something else to work on. We became very close. They were extremely polite and accommodating through the whole project. Let me add that we remained in the house the entire time of the whole project, including the full bathroom remodel portion. Thank you, Home Depot restrooms!! All of the crew and subcontractors were courteous, polite, and cleaned up the work areas at the end of every day's work. The original estimate for the kitchen alone was 3 to 4 months. With all of the additional work we had done, the total project went 6 months. I was very pleased with that timeline. I was there the whole time and lived through the project with them. American Pride Builders is a family-based organization that understands the pain and insanity that goes with home remodel projects. Never having hired a general contractor before, I made a huge mistake and went with a company that did every wrong thing that you see on HGTV. Fortunately Emmanuel Nila and American Pride Builders came to our rescue. We were doing a complete redo of all the common areas (plus one bathroom), in our ranch style home in Fullerton, and we couldn't afford to move out for the several months it took. American Pride was very respectful and professional. Every part of the house that was being worked on was isolated with plastic barriers; very little, if any, dust migrated to our part of the house. Every employee and sub contractor's work was performed at a craftsman's level. The tile work is incredible, as is everything else, but the grout-lines are uniform width and perfectly straight (it appeals to my "slight" OCD personality). After all of the work that was done to our home we were extremely happy. My wife and I decided to sell our home that we paid Emanual 100k for in renovations. Before listing our home we wanted him and his crew to come back and fix the epoxy in the garage floor that had started to bubble and flake. They came and drilled a hole in the middle of our garage floor down to the dirt below the slab. They said it was a moisture issue. Long story short, we ended up fixing it ourselves and sold our home. Emanual and his crew were unresponsive to our calls and text messages. We told him we needed the garage fixed because we were selling the house and moving. He had ample time (2 months) to address the issue but chose not to. He said he was out of state in Oregon doing work up there and would just give excuse after excuse and eventually stopped responding. He said it's better we get the parts I said I don't want to get the wrong measurements I think it's better you get the parts . He said ok sure but we would have to go to the home to get measurements and we charge a $150 dollar consultation fee. I said sure that's fine, come over get measurements and with those measurements get me a quote . His workers came to get measurements , I gave them the $150 consultation fee, and the owner Carlos never gave me a quote . I followed up with him 4-5 times over 3 weeks and he kept saying he was out of town .
