They did not have any on display so rather than buy the more expensive one, I asked one of the employees. This guy was great. He not only checked for me, be went to the back, got one and even brought it to my car. He went way above and beyond to help and was friendly the whole time. Even though the store was packed, they were well staffed and had all the registers going. While standing around I had at least four different employees ask if I needed help. Thanks Academy. They checked other stores and found what I need in stock at another store. I will be able to go tomorrow and pick it up. The store is extremely well stocked. Clothing, shoes, life jackets, ice chests, marine road and boat parts. This store has it all. Even if you don't have a boat you could stock up on marine themed accessories. In particular, I have my eye on a ship's bell for my patio.

After it was raised and before it was scraped, I was able to retrieve a few items off of the boat. One of the items was the Lowrance fish finder with the "extended" warrenty from west marine. I brought it back to the store hoping to get a store credit for the destroyed fish finder. Well as expected, they told me there was nothing they could do without the transducer and power cord. I told them that the boat was sunk and destroyed. Sorry, nothing we can do without the transducer and power cord. Just another way to get out of the "extended" warrenty. If I would have had all the parts, then it would have been that I was missing the box or something. First of all, don't buy anything at west marine. Second, don't waste money on the "extended" warrenty. West marine does not honor the warrenty and will find any excuse to get out of it. Never again Worst Marine.

So it says "female veteran owned" yet I have never seen a female in there ever. So this younger condescending snarky punk behind the counter decided to intentionally make my experience there an uncomfortable one. He would take a hand gun out to show and then literally turn away engaging another customer and ignoring my questions. I will never darken their door again and their competitor The Gun Parlor in Covington is now my exclusive go to gun and ammo outlet. There I am treated with the respect that I deserve and they provide a genuine interest in helping me find the right product at a great price.
