What an awesome shooting range…read more It's only $6 to enter the range. Make sure your weapons are not loaded and the chamber is open so that they can inspect them when you enter. Also make sure you have eye and ear protection. They do have some loaners, but it's best to bring your own. There are 3 ranges. First is the shotgun range where you can shoot skeet. They charge you $5 for each box of shells you plan on shooting. That covers the cost of the skeet. Second is the 100 yard rifle range. You can set up paper targets at any range up to 100 yards. Also they have steel targets set up at 100 yards. You can shoot rifles and shotgun slugs here. Lastly is the pistol range which is 25 yards. Again you can set up paper targets at any distance. Make sure to bring your own paper targets. They provide the boards and staple guns. Also there are a few steel targets to shoot. There is a little walking from your car to where you enter, so you might want to bring a wagon to carry your stuff. Also bring some water, because there is nothing to buy here. Overall a great place with lots of safety personnel on site.

The other concern is that the 200 yd range is really 165 yds. If you are going to pay premium prices you would expect a professional facility. That is not what you get. I am going to need to vote with my feet. Hopefully they make the ethical choice to bring their pricing to be in family with their competition.

We watched the onboarding safety video, signed the waivers, rented a 9mm Glock, borrowed their ear protection headphones and prepared to enter the range. The staff member assisting us was so kind, and he accompanied us to the range to instruct, demonstrate, and troubleshoot. I would say that was for the best, considering safety reasons given our skill/knowledge levels, but he stayed with us for at least a half-hour and he really went out of his way to teach us things. They do take safety seriously here; no one was fooling around. It's a healthy environment. They do accept international travelers into the range to rent firearms and shoot, as well as regular Americans. The Jefferson Indoor Range is a little bit cheaper than other area ranges, and they have straightforward pricing too. One cool thing to note: pistol rentals are free on Fridays (usually, it's $15) The staff at the gun shop side of the range were also super nice! My companion came from a country where owning guns for most of the population is illegal, so she had never even held a gun before. They offered to let her hold some of the larger rifles and take photos of her with them! It was a fantastic one-of-a-kind experience for her, and the photos made for great keepsakes!! In case this helps someone who might be feeling intimidated about going to a range, we were two Asian girls with limited experience and knowledge, but we had a wonderful time at the Jefferson Indoor Range. There was absolutely no judgement nor politics as some people may worry. Just kind, outgoing, and professional staff all around! I highly recommend this range!
