The range is actually three separate ranges. Two are set up for pistol shooting, but the third is a rifle range. The pistol range is designed for the law enforcement shooter. It is a fifty yard range, but has barricades at 25 yards. There are also several strips of concrete that indicate the different distances to your target. Make sure and bring your own targets, ammo and ear/eye protection when you visit. I didn't use the rifle range, but did see people shooting hunting caliber weapons. I would imagine it can get busy before deer season. If you are in the area, and want a clean, safe range, give this place a try.

Earplugs and safteyglasses are manotory. It cost 10$ per peraon to shoot for the day. A family membership for the year is 150$. Everyone is friendly and cleans up their brass. What an awesome shooting range…read more It's only $6 to enter the range. Make sure your weapons are not loaded and the chamber is open so that they can inspect them when you enter. Also make sure you have eye and ear protection. They do have some loaners, but it's best to bring your own. There are 3 ranges. First is the shotgun range where you can shoot skeet. They charge you $5 for each box of shells you plan on shooting. That covers the cost of the skeet. Second is the 100 yard rifle range. You can set up paper targets at any range up to 100 yards. Also they have steel targets set up at 100 yards. You can shoot rifles and shotgun slugs here. Lastly is the pistol range which is 25 yards. Again you can set up paper targets at any distance. Make sure to bring your own paper targets. They provide the boards and staple guns. Also there are a few steel targets to shoot. There is a little walking from your car to where you enter, so you might want to bring a wagon to carry your stuff. Also bring some water, because there is nothing to buy here. Overall a great place with lots of safety personnel on site.

While planning a bachelorette party we had 3 out of 7 that wanted to shoot guns and see gators and the other 4 just wanted to do gators. I was worried about the logistics of it all, and when I called them, they were great and got everything arranged for us. Transportation showed up on time in a nice transit type van. We stopped for food and had the opportunity to stop for drinks for the swamp tour, which isn't typically allowed for general admission swamp tours. The gun range was great, (obviously no drinking during shooting) and the experience was amazing! The tour was also amazing, and we got to see a lot of gators as well as a fun rip through the swamps! This place started doing tours again in the last 10 days! We just wanted to do the swamp tour and of all the places we called, we liked that this place would pick us up and have a private airboat for our group. It also didn't seem as far as the other options. We were picked up by Kat (not sure about the spelling) from our Airbnb. She was so kind and helpful and even gave us disposable coolers cuz we didn't have any. She offered to stop by somewhere to get more food and/or drinks. We were fortunately all set but she was super flexible. In addition to being our driver, she was more than happy to share her very vast knowledge of New Orleans culture. She helped us understand the difference between Creole and Cajun. Talked to us about the more "American" architecture vs the old school Creole homes. We very much enjoyed talking to her. Once we got to the swamp, our guide was Shawn (Sean?). Shawn was also amazing! He knew that swamp really well and introduced us to his gator friends including Jack (the giant one), Tank (who's a she), Blondie (who might actually be a he) and we tried to spot Stevie Ray (the blind gator) but weren't lucky enough for a sighting that day. The two hour tour flew by with lots of cool encounters with gators of different sizes. It was also cool just to be able to appreciate the beauty of the nature around the area. It was sad to see the destructive force that Ida had because we saw many uprooted trees off to the side... Some looked really old. Overall, I wasn't super excited for a tour at first because reptiles and amphibians generally scare the crap out of me. I even made it clear to my friends that if anyone even jokingly tried to rock the boat, our friendship would be over! But this felt really safe and I had a lot of fun. The classroom session was very educational and Mr. Newman is very knowledgeable in the area of handgun operations and handgun safety, the many different laws and regulations pertaining to handguns and concealed carry, and real life scenarios where you can visualize and learn the many techniques and postures for safely and properly response to and handle these different situations that will end up saving your life and the lives of others. The handgun shooting qualification session was even more fun and I got hands on experience and guidance on how to properly load and unload a pistol, how to properly grip and aim, and best of all learning the correct shooting posture and position to achieve the best result of hitting where you are aiming. I currently do not own a handgun and Mr. Newman was generous enough to rent me his own firearm so I can go through the qualification round. Mr. Newman takes him time in covering all aspect of the training class and shooting course, and often give me the opportunity to asks any question I may have as he move through the training materials.
