While planning a bachelorette party we had 3 out of 7 that wanted to shoot guns and see gators and the other 4 just wanted to do gators. I was worried about the logistics of it all, and when I called them, they were great and got everything arranged for us. Transportation showed up on time in a nice transit type van. We stopped for food and had the opportunity to stop for drinks for the swamp tour, which isn't typically allowed for general admission swamp tours. The gun range was great, (obviously no drinking during shooting) and the experience was amazing! The tour was also amazing, and we got to see a lot of gators as well as a fun rip through the swamps! This place started doing tours again in the last 10 days! We just wanted to do the swamp tour and of all the places we called, we liked that this place would pick us up and have a private airboat for our group. It also didn't seem as far as the other options. We were picked up by Kat (not sure about the spelling) from our Airbnb. She was so kind and helpful and even gave us disposable coolers cuz we didn't have any. She offered to stop by somewhere to get more food and/or drinks. We were fortunately all set but she was super flexible. In addition to being our driver, she was more than happy to share her very vast knowledge of New Orleans culture. She helped us understand the difference between Creole and Cajun. Talked to us about the more "American" architecture vs the old school Creole homes. We very much enjoyed talking to her. Once we got to the swamp, our guide was Shawn (Sean?). Shawn was also amazing! He knew that swamp really well and introduced us to his gator friends including Jack (the giant one), Tank (who's a she), Blondie (who might actually be a he) and we tried to spot Stevie Ray (the blind gator) but weren't lucky enough for a sighting that day. The two hour tour flew by with lots of cool encounters with gators of different sizes. It was also cool just to be able to appreciate the beauty of the nature around the area. It was sad to see the destructive force that Ida had because we saw many uprooted trees off to the side... Some looked really old. Overall, I wasn't super excited for a tour at first because reptiles and amphibians generally scare the crap out of me. I even made it clear to my friends that if anyone even jokingly tried to rock the boat, our friendship would be over! But this felt really safe and I had a lot of fun. I came here with some shooting experience, but my companion who I came with had zero experience at…read moreall. We watched the onboarding safety video, signed the waivers, rented a 9mm Glock, borrowed their ear protection headphones and prepared to enter the range. The staff member assisting us was so kind, and he accompanied us to the range to instruct, demonstrate, and troubleshoot. I would say that was for the best, considering safety reasons given our skill/knowledge levels, but he stayed with us for at least a half-hour and he really went out of his way to teach us things. They do take safety seriously here; no one was fooling around. It's a healthy environment. They do accept international travelers into the range to rent firearms and shoot, as well as regular Americans. The Jefferson Indoor Range is a little bit cheaper than other area ranges, and they have straightforward pricing too. One cool thing to note: pistol rentals are free on Fridays (usually, it's $15) The staff at the gun shop side of the range were also super nice! My companion came from a country where owning guns for most of the population is illegal, so she had never even held a gun before. They offered to let her hold some of the larger rifles and take photos of her with them! It was a fantastic one-of-a-kind experience for her, and the photos made for great keepsakes!! In case this helps someone who might be feeling intimidated about going to a range, we were two Asian girls with limited experience and knowledge, but we had a wonderful time at the Jefferson Indoor Range. There was absolutely no judgement nor politics as some people may worry. Just kind, outgoing, and professional staff all around! I highly recommend this range!

The Lafourche Parish Sheriff's Office Shooting Range is a nice facility. Open to police only during…read morethe week, the range is open to the public on the weekends. The range is actually three separate ranges. Two are set up for pistol shooting, but the third is a rifle range. The pistol range is designed for the law enforcement shooter. It is a fifty yard range, but has barricades at 25 yards. There are also several strips of concrete that indicate the different distances to your target. Make sure and bring your own targets, ammo and ear/eye protection when you visit. I didn't use the rifle range, but did see people shooting hunting caliber weapons. I would imagine it can get busy before deer season. If you are in the area, and want a clean, safe range, give this place a try.

Range is only open on weekends to the pubilc. It has 2 pistol ranges, but only one is open to the public. The other one is for active duty military and officers. It also has 2 rifle ranges. I do not know exact distance but I know you can shoot at 100yard. The range does not sell ammo to the pubic, but it does have target, earplugs, and saftey glasses. Earplugs and safteyglasses are manotory. It cost 10$ per peraon to shoot for the day. A family membership for the year is 150$. Everyone is friendly and cleans up their brass. The target stands are wood frames. I suggest bringing tape, or stapple gun to set your targets. I would recommend this place for a novice shooter and advance.
