This place won't see a red cent from me and let me tell you why you shouldn't shop at this limited store either with pictures. The "owner" is an absolute A$$!! I called to verify if a particular Jersey was in store at 3 on a Saturday. The following is not only unprofessional but completely ignorant. The "owner" answered the phone in what sounded like a panic, like maybe he had never heard a phone ring in his life nor was he prepared to answer my VERY SIMPLE question!! "Do you have a Cam Jordan Jersey in store" I ask, "ugh what...I'm really busy right now." I'm over here like ugh you the one who answered the phone WITH YA BUSY ASS!! Anyways I'm like "Ok I get that sir, Do you sell Cam Jordan's Jersey I am driving from MS and would like to come to the right place." " I'm busy, I will call you back." And just simply hung up on me. Like WTF!! But the good person in me was like hmm Maybe he will. I drove straight passed his place and took my money all the way to Metairie where they had the best selection. So on our way home I thought surely this was an opportunity for me to address a bad customer service experience and the following pictures conversation ensued!! We support our Saints, We Love Cameron Jordan!! He is the heartbeat of our defense! This "owner" just lost a large demographic of customers by being so ignorant. He is making money off of The Who dats backs but doesn't support a very important member of our team?? Spend your money at Black and Gold it's worth the drive. Fuck this guy!!!

The orders are fulfilled and ready for pickup prior to the estimated date when ordered. The hunting department staff are the most professional, friendly, experienced, and helpful individuals in the vast majority of retail businesses. They even mount and boresight optics for free on purchases made from SW and also offer firearm cleaning services. I would really like to send a special thanks to a young man named Ben, who takes the time to make sure all of my optics are mounted exactly to my preferences.

Keep in mind my fiance doesn't know much about the mechanics of the firearm, this is why we picked this pistol to get her started. This clerk starts asking her to rack the slide, drop the magazine, what type of bullet does the pistol use, how many rounds does it hold, who makes the firearm? She answers most of his questions and handled the firearm responsibility but he told her it was a "red flag" because she didnt know all the questions he asked and he personally thinks she is buying the gun for me!! Then tells her this isn't a "starter pistol"!! I ask what is a starter pistol? And ask for a manager, he states he is the manger! Then a lady i have worked with before says she is the manager!! I have helped all my daughters and other friends and family buy firearms and get trained. This experience ruined my fiance experience buying her first firearm. Needless to say I won't EVER buy here again..

Located in the brand new Fremaux Town Center, this store appeals to my inner dude like only a sporting goods store can. Since I am an equal opportunity reviewer, I will first focus on the section of the store geared towards females: they have women's clothing. Now that we have that out of the way, on to my review. Hunting I was pretty sad when I realized Dick's doesn't sell handguns. There are few activities more badass and manly than perusing a fine selection of handguns. What they did have, however, was a giant selection of rifles and shotguns. There was no one working in that area so I couldn't fondle any, but the prices looked fairly reasonable, especially on some of the .22 rifles. If hunting birds or large animals is more your style, they also had higher caliber rifles and shotguns. As with most stores, shotgun ammo was available on the shelves with pistol and rifle ammo behind the counter. From what I could see, it looked like they had a good supply of most home defense and target ammo for somewhat reasonable prices. Even the .223 was decently priced (for 2014). In addition to the firearms, there was a large archery section, including what looked like an archery range. There was also a good selection of knives, machetes and even a tomahawk. If you are looking for survival gear, they have what you need. Camping The camping selection here was first rate. In addition to the tents, sleeping bags and camp stoves, they had an excellent selection of backpacking food. Anyone who has been backpacking will tell you that the lighter your pack, the easier your hike. Dick's had a large amount of freeze dried items which would taste funny, but definitely save weight. They even had astronaut ice cream which I must purchase whenever I find it. Don't ask me why, but I think that stuff is super cool. This section is also where I found a new folding chair. I am not sure of the official name, but it's one of those chairs that folds and stores in a bag. I am sure you've seen them at the beach, kids soccer games and Mardi Gras Parades. Well, for only $30, I got a brand new chair in stylish realtree camouflage. No longer will I be at the beach in a plain blue chair. Hell yes! The aforementioned sections are where I spent the majority of my time, but the store had plenty more to offer. I saw shoes, sports equipment, fishing gear, etc. It really is a one stop shop. The staff I encountered on the floor were helpful and friendly. My only complaint involves the checkout process. I am not sure if it was because the store is new, but checkout was painfully slow. Despite having three cashiers working the wait was far too long. Other than that, I loved the place. If you are in the Slidell area and like dude type things, check out Dick's. See, that is hilarious.

They allowed me to bring my 85lbs Doberman in while I shot, which was very much appreciated as well. I work all day, and the time I am able to spend with my dog is precious. If you are SERIOUS about archery; wanting to learn, need specialized accessories or needing a bow or need help with your bow, this is where you will go. Don't go to a sporting goods store filled with people who have acquired a general knowledge of archery at best. Ken and his brother, Lee, have YEARS of experience and specialized knowledge of archery, modern AND traditional. They can hook you up with a modern compound bow and they're not afraid to teach you how to use it, either. In fact, they have a small indoor range to show you how to shoot your new bow. They also dabble in more traditional archery and if you bring them a "stickbow", they can really help you out with anything you might need, and point out things that might be of concern on older bows. I've bought several bows from ebay in the past and brought them in to get strings and have them checked out and these guys made the string I need in the store while I waited and the friendly talk made it all worth the while. They'll be able to help you out, too. They also sell firearms, by the way! And for a small fee, they'll do transfers for you with a smile. Ken can get a little testy and grouchy sometimes, but don't let that turn you away. That's just his vast experience and wisdom on archery, firearms and hunting just wanting to jump out and help you with whatever you need. Ken WILL do what he can to help you out and he WILL let you know when you're wrong or full of crap and need to be educated. Lol. Thank him for that. Lee is much more mild mannered and friendly, and just as knowledgeable, and both of these guys are always happy to shoot the shit with customers if they aren't busy with other customers. In fact, I'm sorry to say that it's been years since I've stopped in there to say hello. I guess I kind of traded that hobby for another, but if I EVER need anything when I get back into archery or firearms, there's only one place to go. If you need help with ANYTHING regarding hunting, archery, firearms or subjects of that nature, don't waste your time anywhere else and don't be afraid to ask these guys. You're not gonna get any better advice anywhere around here.
