Now a retired dairy farm, Castle Hill Farm was once the second largest supplier of dairy products in Fairfield County. In spite of the farm's retired status, the Paproski Family work hard to preserve their 100+ acres through continuing the production of hay and corn fields, growing Christmas trees and seasonal vegetables. In addition to their Farm Stand, Castle Hill Farm also has a petting zoo, hayrides, a Sunflower Stroll, a Corn Maze, a Pick-Your-Own Pumpkin Patch, and other various attractions at different times throughout the year. The farm is also available to book for events such as weddings and baby showers. My family and I recently visited Castle Hill Farm to see their Sunflower Stroll. First we stopped off in their farm stand which was filled with all sorts of fresh vegetables such as tomatoes, corn, peppers, squash, cucumbers, and even local honey. We decided to purchase some delicious looking Graffiti Eggplant as well as a handmade candle that had an intoxicating vanilla aroma. Afterwards we headed into the Sunflower Stroll. Our son had so much fun looking at all of the pretty flowers and pointing out all of the bees. Co-owner Stephanie Kearns told us about other things the farm will be offering in the coming months, including hayrides, the pumpkin patch, and other Fall Fun activities. Autumn is our favorite time of year so we'll definitely be back! Get out and see the Sunflower Stroll while you still can!

It was perfect for walking to Ye Burying Yard since that has nowhere to park. Enjoyed my room with the dial-on fireplace, the heated towel rack, and great water pressure. The room was spacious, and well appointed. Loved the four poster bed in the Dogwood suite, and bed was comfy. Also loved that I was next door to the Keeler Tavern Museum. Loved getting to look at a place my ancestors had visited. Beautiful property. Breakfast was small but nice: small quiche, small selection of pastries, coffee/ tea, some cheeses. The personalized pin key entry worked well. Hope to be back at some point. Loved it.

The Fountain Inn is an atrocity, and I would only stay there if I was snooty and pretensions…read more We checked in at 1pm and Morgan gave us a tour. The house was warm and she had most of the windows open to "get fresh air in." It turns out the air conditioning can't keep up but never mind that. We were there for my brother's wedding being held right next door. At 4:30pm we were literally sitting in the front row waiting for wedding to start - we are talking at any second, not minute, any second it was to start - I see my brother motion to me to come to him. He then tells me that we were being kicked out of the precious Fountain Inn because we had a 3-year-old. Not knowing when I paid for the overpriced $482 room that they didn't allow kids under 12 is certainly on me. However, Morgan should have said something immediately and not waited 3 1/2 hours and wait for moment the wedding was about to start to throw us all to the street (my 85-year-old was with us to boot). Morgan claims there was a complaint, however there was just one other couple staying there and they left for lunch as we were coming in. Within an hour, most of the wedding party was in the self-important Fountain Inn, and you can't tell me there was some mystery complaint over a 3-year-old when 12 to 15 people were getting ready for a wedding. I'm sorry, but Morgan is a liar. The wedding wound up being delayed because Morgan chooses that time to throw us all out on the street. We had to gather our things and move to another place. To enhance Morgan's rude and grossly ill-timed eviction, she had to send me a "As per our conversation" text message - again right as the wedding trying to start. The Fountain Inn is run by completely unprofessional staff and grossly overpriced for antiquated accommodation. There are too many far better options in the area to stay here.

DO NOT STAY HERE!…read more YOU WILL REGRET IT!! WORST HOTEL STAFF IVE EVER SEEN! READ OTHERS REVIEWS!!! this is where comfort and relaxation go to die! Wow I've never seen more rude and unaccommodating desk staff in my life! The hotel itself is great actually, the restaurant is great with good servers, and there is one desk agent, Amanda that is great as well but the others including the manager are insanely rude, unpleasant and downright awful people. They've Yelled at us, called us names and belittled us all for literally just staying at the hotel and doing things like : asking for the breakfast vouchers we paid for and being told we didn't have them ( they later apologized but should never have have to apologize to customers unless you were clearly rude and wrong). We've been staying here long term and have been charged a deposit every time we extended even after being told if we book thru them directly we wouldn't( probably at 1000$ in deposits now) for rooms that smell and have poop stains and cigarette burns Oh bonus to that point. We've been told now we can no longer stay here because they think WE are rude!! Paying customers who literally have not been rude at all, just asked for amenities we paid for with no tone or anything mind you just to be YELLED at. screamed, not hyperbole, actually screamed at. The housekeeper came to our door without notice and DEMANDED to clean our room NOW. as in we'd have to vacate the room with 0 notice and was also SCREAMING at us. What is wrong with these people? Is this what hospitality is supposed to look like? Is this what ETHAN ALLEN wants representing their brand?!?! Truly unpleasant, un accommodating, rude and downright disgusting behavior. There are soooo many more transgressions I can't even list them all. They refused to let food delivery in, they left their post early and went home while still on shift. they've been smoking soooo much pot it reeks up the entire front desk area. just wtf is going on ETHAN ALLEN?!? I'd give a 0 star if possible .

They have several comfortable seating areas to relax and gather with Friends and Family. Outdoor seating and a pool are also on site. They have a restaurant on site where they have daily breakfast and dinner. We did partake of the breakfast and it was very good. The rooms are beautifully furnished and comfortable with a microwave and fridge. I would say map out where the elevators or exit doors are in relationship to your room to minimize long walks(unless you like long walks). Danbury is a beautiful New England town with pubs and quaint shops to visit. I wish I would have had more time to explore. My Family is just a hop and a skip away in Hartford so I shall return.

When we arrived we were told it would be just a few minutes as we were early. No problem! We had no agenda so that was completely fine. However, our reservation was at 1pm and we did not get seated until 1:30pm. It would not have been as bad if one of the staff simply came out to say sorry we will get you seated as soon as we can. There was literally no contact with anyone. We kept poking our heads around to make sure they knew we were there. The worst part was there were numerous open tables. I would've been fine had they sat us as given us some water vs. just waiting in the waiting room Once we were seated, our waitress was as pleasant as anyone could be. Very very kind. We ordered the winter tea service and started out with the tea sandwiches. They were very tasty as was the tea. Because we were so hungry we finished everything before the scones arrived. Once they arrived, they nice and warm which was a nice touch. However, the inside was still raw and doughy. I picked around it as best I could. The pianist was a nice addition. I just wish, especially with this being a surprise that it would have a better experience.

The photos and menu looked great - I had no idea they only opened a couple months ago, until our server mentioned it. You wouldn't guess it, based on the attention to detail and how smoothly everything runs. It's a lovely space. They take your coats, give you purse hooks, and have a piano player jazzing up the ambiance with mellow yet uplifting tunes. The table was set perfectly with china and all the accessories you need with tea. There is a fancy/classy, yet casual, vibe. We were excited to find out we could both pick our own teas and that we didn't have to agree on one tea service (for food). The scones and treats were the same on all, but the sandwich selection varied on the three different afternoon tea menus. I opted for the "classic", which came with coronation chicken salad, ham/cheddar/mango chutney, cucumber, smoked salmon, and egg salad sandwiches. My husband got the "teas around the world" which came with Brie/apple/honey, ham/gruyere/dijon, olive tapenade/sundried tomato, chickpea/tzatziki, and a spiced chicken sandwich. All were excellent!! And when we finished, they even offered us more if we wanted them. The teas were great! We were allowed to pick our own teas (didn't have to share) from a broad menu of teas. The owner buys direct in London to get some of the finest teas that are not available locally. I am caffeine free so opted for Marian Wright Edelman's Guardian's Grace, a fruity herbal tea that was relaxation in a teacup for me. My husband first tried the Elizabeth Cady Stanton's Strength Blend, and the also had Mary McLeod Bethune's Essence of Uplift. They were all different, but all very tasty, and perfectly brewed. It also wasn't lost on me that the teas were named after amazingly strong women throughout history, and that we were enjoying them at a woman owned business, on International Women's Day! The scones were delivered fresh out of the oven with your choice of clotted cream, jam, or lemon curd (YES to all, please!) or also butter. The pastries I believe are a rotating selection, but all were tasty bites. From the moment we walked in, the service was warm, welcoming, and hospitable. It's a nice easy pace, with two hours reserved for your experience. It was a wonderful escape from reality! I really appreciate Laurie, Donjae, and Ingrid for creating the perfect experience for us today. 10/10 highly recommend. Call ahead for reservations!
