    Pork and waffles... flavor explosion!!

Went here for brunch. Food is absolutely delicious, Bloody Mary was yummy. Down side is the floor was sticky when you walk your shoes stick to it, and they had to clean off the table we chose to sit at (we were the 2nd group to walk in as soon as they opened, not sure why the table would still be dirty with toothpicks and food crumbs on it). We went to a different table initially but it was super wobbly and sticky. After they cleaned the table we really wanted, it too was still incredibly sticky. I had to put my napkin on the table because it felt gross. I'd give it one more chance since the food was good, but eating in a place that just feels dirty is a turn off.

UPDATE: No rolling eyes emoji needed to react to berating business owners, stars do just fine. Note has a nice selection of good pub food and friendly service. I really liked the cauliflower wings which are a healthy, vegetarian alternative and not at all inferior in taste to chicken. The buffalo sauce had a nice zing and the garlic and parmesan a great crunch. The hummus was very heavy on the garlic which might not be to everyone's taste, and the pita bread got a little soggy from the olives and tomato & cucumber salad in the same bowl. Sadly, this got even worse for the left-overs in the take-away container. Unfortunately, the place was also rather noisy even without the live music playing yet.

This was our first time here but others in our party have been here before. It's a cute little place. We started off with some drinks. I really like the Ginger Pear Sangria. It's a very mild drink but just the way I like it. Next, we got the Brussel Sprouts to shared. They were delicious. They were topped with honey glaze. We had couple special orders (blackened chicken) due to dietary needs and they were very accommodating. The steak sandwich was huge and the person really enjoyed it and took the leftover home for lunch the next day. The person who got the broccoli burger with fries really enjoyed the burger. It's something different. You can't get it at many places. Lastly, I got the surf and turf salad. It was delicious. We ended the meal with a pumpkin turtle cheesecake. Omg- the cheesecake was to die for. Perfect way to end the meal. It was a nice lunch place to catch up.

Absolutely delicious, but I'll come back to that. Sat outside and a nice day. Live music on the patio for a late lunch. Service was very good, pleasant staff. Everyone seemed happy to be there. The wings were very crispy, but no overcooked. I don't love truffle, but Lindsey ordered them and I have to admit, they were very good. The truffle was not overpowering and the wings were cooked just right. Crispy but not overcooked. Now back to the bahn mi. Amazing. The short ribs were cooked so very tender and juicy. The kimchi was not hot, just a little spicy. The cucumbers were cool and refreshing. Absolutely recommend this. Small spot in Bethel, definitely worth a try.

    Undercooked biscuit and gravy.

Food is okay. Hummus platter was good. Biscuits and gravy raw. Mystic chicken and fries were okay. Kids mac and cheese was good. Nothing to rave about. Can't justify the cost. $100 with blueberry matcha tea iced, sprite, orange juice, glass of Chardonnay.

Cauliflower Wings. Honestly second only to the classic Dirt Wings at J. Timothy.

First good sign was when we were graciously accomodated while they were absolutely packed on their front patio. Despite an outdoor table being unavailable during live music, we were given a very comfortable spot indoors and at no point did we feel neglected in the rush. The menu is deeply creative, inviting, price-point friendly and unpretentious which sometimes, depending on my traveling companions, creates a perfect storm for me and leads us to order multiple "smaller" items to comprise a meal in the interest in trying a variety of things. Tonight it was just me and one other capable eater but we veered in that direction and ordered the cauliflower wings, brussels sprouts and lobster corn dip-- While my cousin also ordered the southern style chicken Milanese. I see from some of the other reviews here the cauliflower wings are a big hit but they really cannot be oversold; They are beyond fantastic. An extremely generous portion nets you two sauce choices and we opted for the traditional buffalo and a sort of generalized pineapple asian glaze. The traditional styled bites were nearly indistinguishable from genuine chicken wings. These alone were worth the trip and price of entry. The rest of the offerings were also very good, I'd say competitively good when reflected against some higher priced more self agrandizing restaurants in the area. If I were to nitpick, I'd say the sprouts were the "least great", having been somewhat unusually cut into quarters, a bit too firm inside compared to the beautiful caramelization on the exterior and a bit heavy on the aioli. If the worst of your worries is that you got better than average brussels sprouts, all is right with the world. The only reason we're clocking four instead of five stars here (truly, the experience, value and food quality are five stars) is a minor yet noticeable inconvenience that Note, I'm sure, has absolutely no control over. Like many of the older buildings on the road such as Molten Java, the bookstore and J Lawrence back when it was Greenwood, there is a pervailing and sickly smell of mildew indoors that is inescapable and may bother those sensitive to such things if sat for an extended period. I STRESS: The restaurant from what I could see is immaculate and they follow all CDC guidelines. It is NOT a question of cleanliness. It's just the way the old building smells. I did wish we'd held off for a table outside but it in no way ruined our evening. It just begs mentioning. Oh, by the way, I don't usually comment on what I *did not* experience but while I didn't partake, I found the cocktail list charming, again very un-fussy and with some very smart choices. I'm something of a known professional mixologist in Southern CT and for me to appreciate a cocktail program in full is rare indeed. The jalapeno cuke lemonade was very well done, even sans booze. Overall outstanding work, very, very pleased and I'll be back with reinforcements for more wings. Cheers, S.

Went here for New Years Day brunch and was not disappointed. This was honestly one of the only places open and it was so worth it. The place is small but cute. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The food was so good, shout-out to the mac and cheese and the burger . The drink was nice and strong overall good spot for live music and good Comfort food.

MYSTIC CHICKEN - very good. (I requested no bun)

Live music?! Great food?! Yes and yes! Thank you to the Yelp community for suggesting this spot, we loved it! We started with the truffle parmesan wings - AWESOME! I had the lemon chicken sandwich sans bread, it was a unique collection of flavors and very good. Jared had the Bahn Mi and it was the best I've ever had (he gave me a couple bites). We will be back!

I've been here a few times and have never had a bad meal here! Recently, I saw that their chef won an episode of Chopped, which makes perfect sense. The drinks are always good, usually with a little unique twist to a classic (recently I had a peppermint espresso martini during winter.) They often switch up their menu so even if you come here often, you'll never tire of something new to order. It seems they always have a version of brussel sprouts and a few different sauces for cauliflower wings. I've previously had Cola BBQ and Plum Ginger, both of which were delicious and great portions! I also really like how they have plenty of options for vegetarians and vegans. P.S. though it's a little thing, I love the cute music-themed names for the dishes and drinks.

Aquila's gives a 30-minute grace period, which helped since the area gets very dark at night and the roads are narrow. I knew ahead of time there would be a lobster food truck and a live salsa band. When you arrive, you check in with the hostess, though there's no clear hostess stand since she's stationed at the end of the bar. The inside was crowded with no available seats, but we weren't there for the band anyway. Our igloo had a heater, but two would've been ideal. They recommend bringing a blanket, which I forgot, but it wasn't too cold--around the high 40s. We tried the "Sweet Wine Flight," which included Sparkling Rosé, Moscato, and white and red wine slushies. The white wine slushy was my favorite. It started raining while we were there, and everyone with fire pits cleared out, so I was extra glad we chose an igloo. They offered a cheese box, but it looked too small, so we stuck to drinks. Our server was polite and brought everything out quickly. Reservations give you two hours, and we had a great time. I like the variety of reservation options they offer. For suggestions: it would be nice to have a real charcuterie board instead of tiny cheese and veggie boxes. The indoor space could also be larger, especially for people coming for the live band, and there are no seats around the bar. Overall, though, it's a cozy spot, and I enjoyed the experience.
