As long as our dog was doing well. When we arrived home, we realized that her bed was missing. I called and asked about her bed. They placed me on hold for 5 minutes... Not a good sign.. they told me they were still looking and that they would call us back tomorrow morning. Havind never received a phone call, I called them at 10:00 a.m. and was told that they were still unable to find the bed. A staff member overheard her talking and said oh sorry your dog shredded it the first night. So, our dog was without her bed for four nights and no one bothered to inform us? We also found out by that same person that they threw out her dog toy because there was feces all over it... Again you didn't think to tell us about this? That's pretty serious because my dog had diarrhea when we picked her up yesterday and this morning. Could that be the reason??! I also found out that they had over 100 dogs yesterday!

02/28/25 I dropped off my 2 year old lab at daycare at 8am after not being there for 1.5 years…read morebecause I waited until he was 2 y/o to get neutered. At 6:20pm when we picked him up, immediately outside the front door, I noticed a bald spot on his lower back. Quickly inspecting it, I brushed it off since he might've gotten it from playing w/ another dog and did not see any deep punctures in the bald spot. He arrived at daycare with both a harness and a neck collar on but could only use the collar for daycare. So they kept his harness on the hook until pickup and put it back on him when giving him to us. When we got home and took off the harness, hidden underneath where the harness sits, we noticed dried blood on his fur on top of his shoulder blade. Upon further inspection, there was a gash, deep enough to be able to open the wound and see subcutaneous skin. We took him to an emergency vet where he got staples and was sent home with antibiotics and pain meds. Why did the daycare not inform us of this incident? I understand dogs may play rough and given it was his first time back in 1.5 years, but my dog is not aggressive. He doesn't bite or bark (he barks when hungry), regardless of around strangers or other dogs. He is the friendliest pup ever and loves rubs. Even if he got into a scuffle with another dog, why did they not give us a call? What even happened? We utilized their indoor/outdoor play cameras throughout the day and in the hours of 3:00pm to when we picked him up, he was nowhere to be found. Manager said their sleep suites and other areas in the camp have no cameras. So where was my dog from 3:00-6:20pm? If he was put away due to a fight, still, why did they not inform us? Anyways not much we could do that night besides get my dog fixed up, as daycare closed at 7pm. So I called their number and left a voicemail. Next day, we came back to speak with the manager. Brought the vet bill with me. Told him what happened. In the end, there was NO type of accountability. I asked, "if an employee had to put his harness on to give him back to us, how did he not see the cut with DRIED red blood around the area?" Do they don't care or were aware enough to quickly glance at the dogs there to see their physical health throughout the day? Manager contradicted himself. He first apologized and said "it happened on the way out of bringing him to you" then contradicted himself later saying "my staff did not notice anything on your dog when we brought him out." So was the staff aware of what happened to my dog or not? If they acknowledged it, why NOT INFORM US when it happened? The LACK of communication and accountability is what upsets me. Accidents happen. I understand. But where is the communication at? After that went down, he tried to offer to reimburse us back a day's worth of day care ($40 btw) and a free enrichment session ($10). You think that makes up for the $650 unplanned vet bill? The emotional trauma when we found the cut? Most importantly, my DOG'S well-being and our TRUST in Camp Bow Wow in taking care of my dog???? He said he couldn't reimburse us for the bill, even though the incident happened under their care and supervision. Yes the disclaimer I signed said they are not liable but wow, I can't believe a money-hungry corporate facility would rather let me face the vet bill and having to take off work for the next week for my dog than to offer to reimburse me. Again, vet bill is not the issue; LACK of COMMUNICATION and ACCOUNTABILITY is the issue. Least they could do is offer to reimburse the bill. I want to bring awareness to Camp Bow Wow. Be careful bringing your pups here, they might just send you home with a hurt dog and a "we can't do anything about it" attitude!!!!!! Emergency vet said it is highly unlikely it was another dog's bite or nail scratch, as the cut was very straight and she said a "superficial" object may have caused it. So if that rules out another dog doing it, WHO or WHAT cut him??? WHY are the dogs playing around SHARP edges/objects and unaware staff?? If dog load is an issue to have staff constantly supervising them, then hire some more people. At the end of the day, my dog came home with a fat cut on him and no one knows what happened.

When she was done her coworker informed her she had another tour. She pouted because she said she had a sore throat. They paged a male employee. Are several minutes he came in from out front. They told him they needed him to do a tour. He made an exasperated noise and said he didn't want to. I stepped up and said since our business wasn't a priority, we would take it elsewhere. If they couldn't be bothered to give us a tour that they invited us to take, how would they treat our dogs. We could not believe we were treated so poorly.

The techs and front desk staff are friendly. They generally can get you an appt next day. The bad: 1. My pet has been seen here within the past 6 months. I called to get a simple flea and tick med refill. We are up to date on the heart worm testing that had been performed here. The receptionist told me I could not get the med filled because it is state law to be up to date on rabies vaccination to get flea and tick medicines prescribed. My pet did not have a rabies vaccine on file at the first visit, when they prescribed me a 6 month dose. They did not tell me at the time that a stipulation to refill would be to have proof of rabies vaccine. Poor communication to me, and gave me misinformation because it is not State law, but instead their individual policy for this company that they must have proof of rabies to prescribe anything else to you. I appreciate that the medical director did call me back same day and listened to my concerns. They filled the med as a one off, but it was very disheartening to have to jump through hoops to get a preventative care medicine that other vets would readily give because all that is actually required by law is a valid vet-client relationship which, for most vets, means they have examined your pet within the past year. 2. We had cytology sent away for my dogs lump. The vet called to discuss the results and said that not enough sample had been collected, but she was confident it was a lipoma. This seemed to be an error in collecting the sample, but when discussing with the medical director it was told to me that this was another miscommunication. It was actually deemed a lipoma per the lab. 3. We brought our 4 month old, 4 pound kitten is for pre-surgical labs for her spay. They said she was too unruly and gave us meds to make her calmer. We came back with her medicated and they were still unable to get a blood sample. This is not a feral cat, she is a well domesticated cat we have bottle fed since 4 weeks old. The vet that performed her spay was able to get bloodwork without pre-meds. Unfortunately too much "bad" outweigh the "good" for us to return here.

There is a huge agility "open gym" but I was a little worried my older less - active dogs would hate it. Luckily there is a small dog area as well and they had their own space to just relax and nap. My one dog is only 4 pounds and so she got extra love and was carried around, which is exactly what she wanted :-) I appreciate that they took the time to understand and provide personalized care for an older dog who isn't interested in all the agility/play stuff. If you do have a a very active dog, he will absolutely love the huge play area! It is super clean and there is no dog odor at all. Listen, I'm not sure where to start because there's so much I want to cover regarding OLK9's Day…read moreCamp Program. First things first, Craig [Martin] is a Rockstar trainer. Period. Our very first interaction was great...his energy was wonderful...he did not disappoint! He was very methodical with his approach...explaining every step of the process...very engaging...constant updates of the Boyz progress...videos, photos...wait! The photos that I received were Ahhhhhhh-mazing, I mean impressive...only to learn that he's a photographer as well...but I digress. The Boyz are spoiled and I have no shame in stating this...*smile*. But they needed to learn manners. I have two large and very strong Standard Poodles - Mr. Brown and Max. They're extremely smart, pretty obedient in the house, but a huge challenge on walks...my poor dog walker. I wanted to be able to take them anywhere without the extended conversations of sit, stay, what are you doing? you know better... etc. At any rate, I'd been following OLK9 Maryland for some time online. I knew that training for two dogs was going to be a budget buster. Thankfully, I was able to take advantage of the "Black Friday" or "Cyber Monday" (can't remember which one it was). I cannot say enough about the great experience I had...the Boyz were happy to see Craig each day which was a HUGE relief for me. Yes, additional work/training on my part is required...to me that's a no brainer. As a responsible pet owner, I want to make sure that there is consistency and an expectation that my Boyz are well behaved and well mannered. Which means I have to do the work. Funny, as I was driving home from our final session, I was so tempted to take them on a short walk because I knew it would be enjoyable. But decided to wait until morning... I'm so excited to be able to have an enjoyable walk with these guys... less scolding and more bonding. Well worth the time and financial commitment. Thank you OLK9 Maryland for bringing additional joy to our home... things are definitely more "manageable". I'm really looking forward to our walks, especially since there will be NO more pulling! Can't wait to be able to take them to the "brick and mortar" with me once it's open! "Life Changing K9 Training"

I was desperate to help my dog and myself and Off Leash K9 had good reviews. What these folks didn't tell me was that my dog's reactivity, what I thought was outright aggression, was actually fear - that she was scared of all of these things and trying to protect herself from them. So with the use of the e-collar (really just a shock collar let's be honest), I punished her every time she showed a fear response at Off Leash K-9's direction. This definitely changed her behavior, but rather than helping her feel more comfortable with the things that scared her, we instead punished her for being afraid and taught her to hide her fear responses. I wish I had looked at the science behind dog behavior, because I now know research shows that punishment through things like e-collars, buzz collars, spray bottles, etc. are incredibly counterproductive to changing dog behavior long term and they seriously traumatize the dog. I'm so very grateful to have met a Fear Free trainer who taught me about positive reinforcement. It has improved my relationship with my dog immensely and it has ultimately lead to the sustained behavior change I was looking for. Please do not waste your money on abusive, ignorant training through Off Leash K9.
