If you are in need of fingerprinting services as a job requirement, I highly recommend this agency. It's easy to get to and has plenty of parking, although it will cost you $5 if you are more than 15 minutes. (Save your receipt as a work expense.) When you exit the elevator, the suite looks like a spa. Two receptionist greet you and give you a simple form to fill out. The waiting area is huge, but with an appointment there was no wait for me. Fingerprints are done electronically. After the tech logs in your info it only takes about three minutes. No messy fingers either! With electronic fingerprinting, the results are instant, and your employer can have the results in a matter of days, not weeks. I just had the most painless fingerprinting experience ever. I really regret not catching the gentleman's name who helped me, but he was excellent. He starting filling in the generic info on the main computer while I was filling out my personal info on the tablet. He was just so sweet and efficient. It was late in the day when I called and a staff person told me that they could accommodate me since I live very nearby. I arrived at 4:15pm and they handled my fingerprinting in short order. I've used American Identity Solutions twice now for fingerprinting services for employment and each time I left happy. Scheduling an appointment has always been easy and they even have appointments on the weekends. The location is easy to find and there is ample garage parking. I suggest arriving about ten minutes before your scheduled appointment to fill out electronic forms. The process of fingerprinting itself is also electronic and very quick. I get in and out in 15 minutes at the most. I've also been treated well by friendly staff. They take both cash or credit for payment. The only reason I'm deducting one star is because the last time I was here, it was on the slow side and all staff members apart from the one who was assisting me were gathered in a room, watching TV and socializing. I get if they have some down time and want to do that, but don't do it right in front of the waiting area with the door wide open for everyone to see and hear because it comes off as super unprofessional. All in all, I would use this location again if I ever need similar services and recommend it to others. read more

Besides being rude on the phone, and have ambiguous information on the website, in person it gets much worse. Just left the Rockville office where I had the displeasure of dealing with a very rude little girl named Sabrina. She acted like I was bothering her by asking questions about the classes, and then incorrectly charged my card for fingerprints only. I requested a refund on the spot. I will not be returning. The prices are inconsistent with what I was told on the phone. And when I asked for her name and the owners name she told me he didn't really have anything to do with the office. I told her I wanted it anyway. Side note* she had some skin irritation or infection around her mouth that she kept rubbing, and while it may not be contagious, (I don't know) so I promptly took my license and credit card to the bathroom to wash them both off with soap. read more

I came in for a routine background check. There was one person working who seemed very frazzled by having to wait on just me and two other people. The phone was ringing the whole time too and she would desert her customer in order to answer it. A month after my visit, I still did not get the background check completed. It turns out that they "forgot" to process the order I had already paid for. The refund process also took several days of calling and emailing. The service is crap, period. There are plenty of other companies in the area who offer the same services. I would rather pay more elsewhere than ever come back here. read more

I had to get finger printed for volunteering with elementary school children and there were 4 locations I could choose from. This location was the closest, I was told to call to schedule an appointment, I listened to the automated message and was instructed to schedule online. The website was easy to use and I was scheduled in about a minute after finding the site! On the day of the finger printing I came and there was one employee there, but no one else waiting. She came right over and took my information and I paid. Then we went to the finger printing room, she made sure my information was correct, did my prints and I was out in about 10 minutes. Zabrina was the person who did my prints, she was friendly, made some conversation and tried to be quick, but careful with the service. The only downside would have been parking fees, first 15 minutes is free, but then first hour is $5... luckily I got dropped off so did not have to worry about the high fees/ rushing to get it free. I wasn't sure what to expect, but was glad that everything was quick and easy! read more

If you need your FBI report for job requirement, I highly recommend that you stay away from this company. They fooled me into going for their expedited service (by paying more) promising that I will get my FBI report within 7-10 business days. Three weeks passed by when I started calling them for an update. The first three times I called, they said that they would check and give me an update. They never called me back. I called the fourth time, asked to talk to a manager, and she told me that they misspelled my address and that was why I hadn't received my report. I waited another two weeks and then called them only to know that FBI rejected my fingerprints because they were not clear. There is a big gap between 7-10 business days and 5 weeks of waiting for nothing. If they were competent, they would have found out sooner that my fingerprints were not clear, and that the problem wasn't with my address. By that time I had left the US, so now I have to pay $2000 for a ticket to DC to redo my fingerprints. When I pushed them to give me a refund, I realized that they had misspelled my e-mail address (I double checked on my receipt, I had provided them the correct address and email). As an expat working overseas, I have done so many fingerprints in different Middle Eastern countries, and had never had unclear fingerprints. American Identity Solutions are bunch of young kids that aren't trained properly to do their job, and they obviously don't care to do any better than screwing people's life.
