I needed a last minute gift and this was the closest boutique open on a Sunday. Painted tree provides a space for numerous boutiques to display and sell their items. The boutiques are neatly organized and their names displayed. Prices vary, often being very reasonable. Some boutiques share their website information as a place to find additional products. It was easy to find a gift here. If we were not pressed for time, I would have stayed longer to visit all the boutiques. Check-out was a little slow. The employees working the check out counter were friendly and helpful. They even wrapped the gift in tissue paper for me. Overall, great place to shop for a gift or for yourself!

Kohl's fills a niche for us when shopping for clothes, shoes, accessories and some household items…read more This location is standard Kohl's fare -- good selection, off season sales are hard to beat, well known brands, and super helpful staff. The value comes from clearance items or marked down stuff including shoes. I asked what happened. He told me an unleashed aggressive dog was standing directly inside the entrance and loudly snarled and growled at him as he tried to enter the store. The female owner of the dog&store told him the dog was a "rescue" and that it didn't take a liking to men. I have documented allergies to dogs and also fear them for their unpredictable nature as what happened when he casually walked into the store. It's a shame because he probably would have bought me something warm to wear if the dog had not been there growling at him. Also, I only buy second hand from smoke&pet free homes/stores. *Message to management: I've never owned a clothing store, but I've worked at one. It's very important for customers to feel safe and welcomed when trying on clothes and window shopping. In what world is it considered civilized to have an unleashed, untrained and aggressive dog positioned at the head of the store? You are actively discriminating against men shopping at your store by bringing this dog to work. Men like to surprise their girlfriend or wife or mother with something nice to wear from time to time. If you don't have liability insurance for potential dog bites when a man enters your store it might be time to get some. Or, better yet, just install a modern security system and leave your aggressive dog at home or bring it to a shelter. You will be doing the city of Raleigh and it's citizens a favor.
