The female owner of the dog&store told him the dog was a "rescue" and that it didn't take a liking to men. I have documented allergies to dogs and also fear them for their unpredictable nature as what happened when he casually walked into the store. It's a shame because he probably would have bought me something warm to wear if the dog had not been there growling at him. Also, I only buy second hand from smoke&pet free homes/stores. *Message to management: I've never owned a clothing store, but I've worked at one. It's very important for customers to feel safe and welcomed when trying on clothes and window shopping. In what world is it considered civilized to have an unleashed, untrained and aggressive dog positioned at the head of the store? You are actively discriminating against men shopping at your store by bringing this dog to work. Men like to surprise their girlfriend or wife or mother with something nice to wear from time to time. If you don't have liability insurance for potential dog bites when a man enters your store it might be time to get some. Or, better yet, just install a modern security system and leave your aggressive dog at home or bring it to a shelter. You will be doing the city of Raleigh and it's citizens a favor.

I have seen many collectors items in that store and that store is loaded with excitingly high-end donations This store is unique in that they actually have attended fitting rooms, where you're handed a buzzer when a fitting room opens and you can have your turn. That's how popular this thrift shop is. They have an amazing selection of clothing where you can find some designer labels, hats, bags, antiques, vinyl records, lots and lots of beautiful framed pictures for extremely good prices, they even have bridal wear. Their jewelry counter is so much fun where you can find vintage earrings for two or three dollars up to five dollars, gorgeous statement, necklaces, bracelets, and rings, it's hard to walk away from that jewelry counter with nothing. Behind the jewelry counter is a gated section where you're really high-end items are located. You do have to have permission to go through the gate, but it's worth it to see some of the absolute die for items. They have checkout counters with efficient volunteers, who are friendly, and they have bagging or boxes whatever you need. You can join and earn points for your purchases. Plenty of parking, very easy to get to location, and bonus they're right next to the Restore where you can check in for some super nice furniture at great prices and some other items if you're looking for furniture. But let's stick to Dorcas, don't miss it. They must have thousands of books, hard back two dollars, paperback one dollar, with a few exceptions. Another reason you can stay in there for hours. I ended up snagging a pair of Sam Edelman boots for under $20, and they were in great condition. There is a stamp card available as well! You get a stamp for each shopping trip over $20. Once you fill the card, you get $$ off your next purchase (I forget the amount off the top of my head). And, because it was a convenience store, there is a bank of coolers with six packs of local beer, Locopops and ready-to-go-meals- craziness! The store is organized by vignette and theme, making browsing fun. I found the prices to be really good, especially on the jewelry, which is displayed on tables and probably 25% of the inventory. The staff is super friendly and based on their Facebook page; they seem to have lots of fun events.
