On this occasion I was in dire need of a dress to wear for a mehndi social event and was looking for something very much in alignment to a beautiful multi-colored number I had rented from Rent the Runway last summer. In hindsight, I should have bought that dress when I had a chance, but that's the thing about hindsight. . . Anyways, Dress proved to be a really fun browsing experience. The store is large and the racks are full and generally assorted by color, which really helps when you're looking for something specific. I tried on two items. One: a multicolored tunic style dress and 2: a really cute romper with some lace appliques. Neither of them got me super excited, so I will keep up my search for the dress that got away. Meanwhile I was pleased to find that Dress also has a healthy selection of well-made jewelry, as well as designer shoes for perusal. I may have struck out this time but this shop is definitely going into my rotation. This Brooklyn girl is definitely starved for some fun fashion finds.

I initially mistook it for a children's store. I learned it was a boutique and checked it out. What a cute shop! The store is larger than comparable boutiques and more affordable. Plus they have a discount section! As I perused the shelves, an employee welcomed me. I informed her that it was my first visit and she enthusiastically told me about the shop. She then greeted other customers and answered their questions. I found two discounted tops I liked and tried them on in the fitting room. The first didn't fit, but the second one did. I purchased the second top and a hand towel as a gift. This store is an excellent place to purchase a gift. They offer a variety of high quality items. The clothes from Possibilities are beautiful, but they aren't cheap. One minor disappointment is the jewelry -- it was nice, mostly handmade, but overpriced for what it was. The store is usually clean and organized (for a thrift store). The prices are usually very consistent and they don't seem to try and charge antique store prices for some of the nicer stuff that comes through. They get it. You move volume -- you don't run off your customers with stale inventory and a back shelf full of high dollar items that sit there for months until they get marked down to a reasonable number. Cons: The music. They play a very limited selection of "Christian" music that is usually just pop-music ripoffs with the redundant lyrics. The staff can *sometimes* be hard to tolerate. I do understand that they put up with A LOT of crazy, but I've had to overhear some pretty borderline racist things about "immigrants" over the last couple of years. Remember ladies, when you're preaching to the choir outside of of the congregation, some people might not appreciate overhearing you recite some of your conservative media talking points. All-in-all, it's a great thrift store, and since most of them are now Ebay stores that sell the junk they can't get bids for, it's one of the few left around. Now this one had a chip in it, which was why it was only eight dollars still this store is a gold mine of treasures if you have an app that you can scan and have analyze the worth of these items. I have seen many collectors items in that store and that store is loaded with excitingly high-end donations This store is unique in that they actually have attended fitting rooms, where you're handed a buzzer when a fitting room opens and you can have your turn. That's how popular this thrift shop is. They have an amazing selection of clothing where you can find some designer labels, hats, bags, antiques, vinyl records, lots and lots of beautiful framed pictures for extremely good prices, they even have bridal wear. Their jewelry counter is so much fun where you can find vintage earrings for two or three dollars up to five dollars, gorgeous statement, necklaces, bracelets, and rings, it's hard to walk away from that jewelry counter with nothing. Behind the jewelry counter is a gated section where you're really high-end items are located. You do have to have permission to go through the gate, but it's worth it to see some of the absolute die for items. They have checkout counters with efficient volunteers, who are friendly, and they have bagging or boxes whatever you need. You can join and earn points for your purchases. Plenty of parking, very easy to get to location, and bonus they're right next to the Restore where you can check in for some super nice furniture at great prices and some other items if you're looking for furniture. But let's stick to Dorcas, don't miss it. They must have thousands of books, hard back two dollars, paperback one dollar, with a few exceptions. Another reason you can stay in there for hours. And again the prices are very very reasonable and you don't have to ask because there's a sign on each section that tells you how much whatever in that section Costs. They also had a nice selection of books, artwork, and housewares. All of the employees (volunteers?) were very nice and welcoming and helpful. Truly one of the friendliest thrift stores I have been to. The only things I didn't like were how busy it was but it is awesome so I guess it's only fair that so many people love it. She isn't there every time I have gone in, and the experience is better without her. She seemed very standoffish and was short with me at checkout. Very unapproachable. HELLO, this is retail. On another note, the lighting in the fitting rooms is excruciatingly bad. I feel like I have gained 10 lbs every time I look in the mirror. It is very unflattering and often causes me to put the items I tried on back.
