The patio is along the back of my house and there are 2 doors going into the house from the patio, one slider and one hinged door. The new patio looks good enough but the whole thing is too high relative to the house, the top of the pavers are the same height as the top of the door saddle. I can not install a storm door because it will hit a floor mat. I had asked Manuel to make the patio about an inch below the door saddles during the estimate and again before the pavers were installed, he agreed but didn't do it. It's discouraging, the patio looks nice but it's the wrong height. Now I face the dilemma of living with it or having another contractor rip it out and install it at the right height.

We had a ton of work to do. We had plans from an engineer as required by our building department, in short; lots to do and a bunch of restrictions. Jesse and Lauro carefully reviewed everything with me and gave the good and bad to me straight. They were practical and prompt at every turn. The whole crew was incredible. Every single person who came was amazing and I felt like they were always giving their all. Our city made my project way more difficult than expected and Driveway Masters found a way to make it work while being available and communicative about the additional costs due to my city's additional requirements. What's most important, whenever a homeowner needs a builder to resolve an issue, is consistent communication between the homeowner and a builder's representative, as the coordination of schedules of the various people that are needed to put any issue to rest (including the homeowner) can be complex. BUT when everything jives, hopefully the parties involved can make things right. I've always been a bit of a pessimist, as I feel that businesses in general can be hesitant to "do the right thing". Words fail to express my extreme satisfaction and appreciation for all that Westchester Modular has done in actually "doing the right thing" and fixing the issues regarding my home. Westchester's representative Liz worked diligently to coordinate all of the schedules of the various people who came to my home to work on various projects. No doubt, it was a difficult task. One of Westchester's biggies, Patrick, paid a visit to my home to asses the situation first hand and to further understand what needed to be fixed. The fact that he took the time to come to my home after I got out of work impressed me, and proved that they are serious about standing by their word AND their work. After his visit, things really got rolling. Among them were: - Sean the electrician fixing an issue related to my circuit box well into the afternoon/evening after I got home form work, thus sparing me the need to call in sick or to take a day off. - Sandro fixing a minor issue with one sheet of siding and also applying some sealing putty on an outside cable as a precaution to avoid a problem which could cause a different issue. - Bolivar filling in the cracks that appeared in the foundation of my unfinished basement THE RIGHT WAY. Westchester Modular even brought in a small backhoe to fill in one of the cracks from the outside. Since it was located behind my furnace, the only way to make sure the job was correctly done was to address it from the outside of my home. They were even attentive enough to bring in some dirt, grass seed, and straw so that my property looked as undisturbed as possible. What company even does such a thing? After all was said and done, after Liz coordinating everyone's schedules, after Patrick's visit, after each employee came to my home with MINIMAL disruption to my schedule and my family's routine in order to complete their individual tasks, it was evident to me that Westchester Modular not only cares about doing a good job, they also care very much about following up on any customer concerns. It is also evident that they stand by their work and will even do what it takes to make things right. We are very satisfied with our home, and with the professional way they addressed each of my home's issues. We are also very happy with the service and professionalism that Westchester Modular has to offer. In today's day and age, I am certain that there are very few home builders that will go the extra mile as they have. I now believe that there are people out there that will indeed "do the right thing". My wife and I remain extremely satisfied with their work.

Buyer Beware Update August 2026: Each wall my new contractor opens up shows dry rotted/split…read moreframing 2x4s and 2x6s that are in complete violation of the engineered stamped plans for my house (examples attached). More building code violations by Westchester according to the new contractor (not Westchester's unreputable agent/builder) doing the work to fix my house. May 2026: My house was constructed so poorly that I am now in a +3 month renovation of my house. The new Company I hired has had to reinforce 61 walls in my house so far and they are not done. The Contractor said he has never seen anything like this and was wondering why nearly all the walls were detaching from the frame. When we opened up walls in the house and found boards riddled with dry rot, crumbling at the touch, we found part of the answer. The other problem, roofing nails were used in places to secure the drywall to the rotting wood instead of drywall screws. The Contractor is horrified and asked if the company (Westchester) that built my house is a legitimate construction company. Ever seen the movie the Money Pit? In my opinion, my Westchester house is just that; a money pit. 4 years, still more and more problems with my house costing me more and more money because Westchester has refused to help me and Westchester gave me no warranty with my house, despite it being part of the house purchase. In addition to dozens of ongoing issues and 1000s defects/issues now, Westchester never completed my roof. Nearly 1/4 of the trusses (the support beams that hold up the roof are incomplete or broken). I hired a lawyer to help and Westchester told my lawyer it would not finish my roof. The NH Fire Marshall's Office oversees Modular Homes in NH and it forced Westchester to finish my roof. Don't let this happen to you! Westchester worked with me to design a house and things seemed to be going well, but then when the problems started accumulating Westchester walked away. Don't be in my position with a horrendously built house. And I'm not the only one. There are other Westchester House Owners who have had problems with Westchester/their house. I also filed a lawsuit against Westchester in Grafton County, NH. The complaint is enormous (and growing as this renovation continues) due to the incredible amount of defects/problems/building code violations with Westchester's construction of my house....which are still going 3.5 years later!! Buyer beware (original post)!! I bought a Westchester Modular Home in 2022. It has been a money pit. The house was delivered with defects and damage throughout. The issues have accumulated to 100s defective items/issues and it is now so bad that my children and I currently cannot live in the house. In fact, there is a notice posted by a company right now on every entry door to my house that says "warning, do not enter." My house from Westchester was delivered with kitchen cabinets splitting apart, nearly a dozen walls falling off the frame, holes/gouges in doors, trim, and walls, nail and screw pops in the hundreds (and still occurring), insufficient and missing insulation, electrical wiring and light problems. Last year I had to have all my lights replaced (over 60 of them) because they were malfunctioning (flashing on and off without power), The warranty person from Westchester took the old lights and told me he was going to install them in another house! I have a list of nearly 100 defective issues concerning my house and new items are still being added. This week I discovered that Westchester never finished installing the roof trusses in my attic plus one of the trusses is broken! I have failed inspection, moved my children and myself out of the house and I'm in danger of losing my homeowners insurance. Westchester has not talked to me in almost a year, has not provided me any reimbursement for the tens of thousands of dollars that I have spent fixing construction defects/issues. I'm writing this as a warning to anyone considering buying a Westchester Modular Home.. I would never buy one again!!
