Just wanted to update on one part of this review about how we needed to add a landscaping job since we couldn't get the deck where we wanted. We wanted the back of the yard to be flat with grass and was currently at a slight incline that was about a foot in total from one side of the yard to the other (about 20 feet long). To make the backyard flat, they used a foot depth worth of STONES, and then literally put sod squares on top of it. The sod IMMEDIATELY died (a week after the original review) because how would sod root if there's only rocks? Spoiler alert: it didn't. So we now paid for rocks and stones (plus their 20% service charge!) that ended up being an absolute waste and then we spent countless hours and money fixing it ourselves. Then we had to get ANOTHER company and pay them to get rid of the dead sod. Once again, DO NOT USE SOLIMINE. read more

The company did an excellent job at remodeling our kitchen. We didn't need any new cabinets but we need some walls removed, new framing, new floor, new ceiling etc. I'm very happy with the quality of the work. Their estimates and their costs are definitely on the high end. The trouble is that I reached out many contractors and this was the only company that returned my call. John was our main point of contact. He is good at working with customers and helping to design what needs to be done. When it's time to do another project, I will go with another contractor because I think I paid about 50% more than what I should have for the work that was done. read more

Don't be fooled We contracted with Solimine Contractors in June 2019 for a gut renovation of a small bathroom. We were attracted to the small, family-owned business and were comforted knowing we were supporting a local business. Work started fairly close to on time and was completed just outside the timeframe promised. The crew was professional and friendly. John was easy to work with-- offering guidance and expertise as we selected tile, paint, accessories, and fixtures. He and/or Rick were on-site and available by phone or text throughout the project. In the end, the final product is certainly an improvement over our previous bathroom. The space is airy and bright, the paint is lovely, the fixtures are beautiful. However, we are left with a number of eyesores, both big and small, that are impossible to ignore. They are exactly the kind of errors we hoped to avoid by hiring professionals. There are several spots that were patched due to holes being drilled in the wrong place. Two of these patches have caved, leaving small holes and dents in the wall. The light switch and control panel for the radiant flooring were left crooked and straightened by me. The two-piece toilet paper holder was misaligned when installed leaving too much space between the pivoting post and its base. The two most concerning errors are the unexplained peeling paint beside the tub and the sloppy grout work. A member of the crew proceeded to apply grout before receiving instructions on which color to use. As such, the "fix" to this problem was to apply grout paint after the fact. While this looks decent in some places, across much of the tiling, the painted lines are uneven and have bled where the tile was cut during installation. In some spots, the paint is already wearing off -- less than a year later! We have communicated our dissatisfaction numerous times and as of our last communication with John several months ago, we are still "waiting to hear from Rick". While Solimene Contractors claims to guarantee their work and touts customer satisfaction, their actions prove otherwise. read more

We have a 1965 vintage home that needed a new roof. Two courses of old roof material and flashing from 1965. Three years ago, Rick & his team came to our home, removed all the old materials, replaced old plywood, new flashing, water & ice barrier, felt paper under lament....with all the bad winters we have had, ice build up etc, not a link in the house ANYWHERE! Rick & his team know their stuff, are real artisans and offered at an affordable investment level. I would recommend them for a new home, addition, remodel or repairs - they are great at bathrom & kitchen remodels too! Keep up the good work Rick (Jonna too)! read more

I would have to give them no stars. While the pictures online seem like they do a great job (main reason I picked them), their professionalism is lacking. I reached out to them to finish a job and the person that came out, John, strung us along. We had a deadline to complete our project and he ignored our emails and calls for almost a month before telling us in an email that he could not work with us for reasons he did not explain. Now our bank is threatening to close out our renovation loan since it took us so long to start. He came out for he first eval and quoted high for things we didn't need. He came back out realizing his mistake and told us he would fix the quote and send over the proposal. I called and emailed several times and no response. Then one day he sent us an email stating he could not work with us. Funniest part is how he ended the email asking us to consider their company for any projects in the future. HA! read more
