Watching the tournaments here is also a big time attraction and getting fairly close to the professionals, watching their technique and shots is something you don't normally see in a pool halls. The salsa, however, seemed to have escaped from a dusty jar found behind a K-Mart Grill circa 1987 -- bland, lifeless, and utterly devoid of character. Cardboard would've been spicier. Then came the BBQ, a tragic performance in three acts: strange aroma, off flavor, and the lingering question, "Is this safe?" It tasted old -- tired, even -- and we couldn't eat it. The vegetables were at least recognizable, but seemed to have been seasoned with pure indifference. Salt, pepper, and taste had clearly taken the day off. To be fair, the cook was the lone bright spot -- kind, well-meaning, and genuinely eager to please. Unfortunately, no amount of kindness can resurrect a meal this far gone. In short: a waste of money and a triumph of tastelessness. A place that should stick to pool tables and pints, not plates.
