Zooster's Pub & Pool Hall - A Symphony of Tastelessness Ah, Zooster's Pub & Pool Hall -- where flavor goes to die. We wandered in hopeful, hungry, and blissfully unaware of what awaited us. It began with chips and salsa. The chips were... acceptable. The salsa, however, seemed to have escaped from a dusty jar found behind a K-Mart Grill circa 1987 -- bland, lifeless, and utterly devoid of character. Cardboard would've been spicier. Then came the BBQ, a tragic performance in three acts: strange aroma, off flavor, and the lingering question, "Is this safe?" It tasted old -- tired, even -- and we couldn't eat it. The vegetables were at least recognizable, but seemed to have been seasoned with pure indifference. Salt, pepper, and taste had clearly taken the day off. To be fair, the cook was the lone bright spot -- kind, well-meaning, and genuinely eager to please. Unfortunately, no amount of kindness can resurrect a meal this far gone. In short: a waste of money and a triumph of tastelessness. A place that should stick to pool tables and pints, not plates. Even the old K-Mart Grill -- bless its greasy, fluorescent soul -- would blush with pride next to this disaster. I love this place.. great tables in excellent condition - they refelt and recushion every 6 months. Balls are immaculate and in pristine condition. Beer selection is fine - I found something I like and I'm fairly snobish. Bartender is super friendly and place is inviting despite having a local crowd, which was also friendly enough. I didn't try the food but they're opening a place next door. All diamond tables 9 and 7 foot. Rates were reasonable, especially for the quality of the play. This is my spot for the area.. no need to look around. read more

When a bar charges $8.00 an hour to play pool, that is a bit rich. When two players are playing each other and the charge is $16.00, that is a RIP OFF. Nice atmosphere, but that was it. Two beers each and less than an hour of pool for $40.00. SEE YA! read more

I just moved to Broomfield and discovered Zoosters. It's everything I want in a pool hall. Lots of tables in great condition, good bar, friendly staff, and terrific music played at the proper volume (loud, but not deafening). (I hate it when pool halls don't get the music right) Plus, they recently opened a casual restaurant next door that will bring your food to you in Zoosters. The pork tatchos are awesome (tater tots covered in pulled pork, salsa, and other stuff). I'll be going there to practice on the regular. read more

After joining a pool league, I came into zoosters with an expectation of something similar to felt. It was far from it. The place is smaller but makes the most out of its space. The tables aren't too close to each other but I think the best part is the bartenders. Every league day, the place is packed yet, they take the time to remember your face and what you like to order. All the while, maintaining a friendly attitude in the midst of what seems like chaos at times. Play in pool league here 2 times a week and the service is always phenomenal. On occasion I do have to take my kiddos with me and they are always welcomed with a smile. Spacious enough for the whole family while I play and quick service with snacks and drinks that keeps everyone happy! The vibe is always good, warm, and friendly. read more

The place is a pool hall, no joke! We stopped by on a Friday after hitting up a few local craft breweries. This place was jumpin'! You can tell from the subtle vibes that it's a hyper-locals only kind of place...hint #1: one bartender ignored us for about 5 minutes. When we were finally served, the beers were cold and cheap. Hint #2 on the locals thing...they had a box of m&ms in a lock box, friend asks why (sarcastically, of course), and bartender shrugs him off to chat with the regulars ...not a bad thing, just a subtle cue that you're not 'in'. The bartender that wears a kilt is friendly but never leaves the bar! Worst pool bar I have ever been to. I just read the reviews and was astonished at some of the negative comments. I have to wonder if they've ever actually been there. I've been to Zooster's quite a few times and consider it my favorite pool hall that I've ever found... and I've been playing pool for over fifty years and lived in many different cities. Yes, they are busy! Hosting leagues and tournaments most nights (a great Sat. night open tournament), this pool hall has more activity than any I've seen, but that's one of the things I love about it (that... and some of the best players that I've ever seen (other than professional) play there. Instead of this being a negative, it is an indication that people who like to play pool like this place! I've always been treated well and can't think of anything I'd complain about. Stopped by last night to play pool league matches and our other team didn't show up. Since we drove all the way there we decide we wanted to practice. I asked the bartender if we could rent the two tables (we would normally use to play our matches on) by the hour for four players and he told me, "Hold on cause I had someone call asking if tables were available." I have rented a table before there by the hour. It was strange he neglected business standing in front of him for business that "might" come in. Very odd experience indeed. I had high hopes in this place as I heard and read good things.. Went in last night for a few drinks and possibly to play some pool for a friends birthday around 9pm. Once a table freed up we decided to play some pool. Around 10:30-11 the female bartender was telling us they are closing. I looked around and asked there's still a ton of people here (looking at the bar) she said yeah they are family and friends.. turned me off on that.. so whatever right.. asked for my $5 bill to be changed to dollars from her and she said yes.. finishing our beers about 10-15 mins later I went to ask about my changed $5, she gave an attitude about it and said she was going to get my dollars.. note this was about 10-15 later.. asked her to make sure there was no open tabs left besides mine. She said yeah your tab is open.. I told her to close it which ends up to being around $60... I'm usually a great topper but the services we received was horrible... I ended up tipping only 2 dollars as she I had to end up waiting 10-15 min to get my change back and she threw a fit about it. And the fact she was trying to get us to leave the bar when there was still a bit of ppl at the bar still as well as the close time was no where near 12am.. I believe it does state they are open till 12am. Anyways so I tipped her 2$ and she has the nerve to flip out on me saying really? 2$ tip on a 60$ tab? I explain I really would of gave 0$ as you tried to kick us out when it says closes at 2am and also you said you were going to get my 5$ change back and never did. She kept going on how about I only gave her 2$... I should of left it at 0$.. in my whole life I have never heard anyone complain about receiving a tip.
