I arrived at 1:00 to have a new battery installed. The service representative acted like I was imposing on him. He looked up the battery I needed eventually. After he gave me a quote, I agreed. He then told me his installer was at lunch, and wouldn't be back for an hour. I waited for 90 minutes, and he then said he would install the battery. A total of literally 4 bolts. It took him 30 minutes to install the battery. He then changed me an additional $20.00 service fee? On top of everything else, he told me their restroom was out of service. Bottom line up front, I needed a new battery for my RV. I usually buy auto batteries at CostCo and I was on my way there when my neighbor told be to check out American Battery Supply. I gave them a call and to my surprise they not only had the battery that I needed, but it was $30 bucks less than CostCo. When I got there parking was easy, the guys were super helpful, and my battery was there, available, and all charged up and ready to go. When I went in I was stared at and then helped by the most condescending man. I was only asking (politely and even shyly) if my warranty was still in effect, but was treated aggressively, as if I was trying to scam him. Look, as a customer it shouldn't be on me to deal with your fragile ego or how good it makes you feel to throw your weight around in your kingdom of batteries, lol. Without a word I was transferred to a younger employee who took over in replacing my battery and completing the transaction. He was kind, courteous and pretty quick too. Not the best price in town . Went there to get batteries for an RV. The mechanic who was doing the work sent me there to get his discount price. When I was there and told them I wanted the batteries for this account and his price, the manager "Roberto" acted like he h Would rather not sell them at all rather than selling them at the lower account price( $30 less each, $120) I had to get the account holder on the phone and have him speak to the manager. I was referred to this establishment from my insurance company when I awoke in the morning to a dead battery. I was already late for work so during my lunch I gave American Battery a call to see if they had a battery in stock for my car and what's the latest time I am able to get an appointment. I was quoted a great price and was willing to leave my job in order to make it there in a timely manner. I understand that no one wants that customer that comes at the last minute but I also feel that if I am informing you I need a battery badly as well as my work schedule and know your hours of operation states you close at 530pm I would think that you're willing to work with me and assist me in my needs. Can I change my battery myself? Of course I could it's simple but did I desire to do so after a 10hr shift? Definitely NOT. Welp the young gentleman I spoke with informed me that 4pm is the latest I could get an appointment and I quote his words "so that they could go home on time". When I mentioned I was referred and I also work until 5pm but could arrange to come there between 445-5pm I was not accommodated. I was already in a bind and of course I needed my battery in order to help the lives of others as well as enjoy my Holiday with my family and friends. Unfortunately, after that comment made by the gentleman I was speaking with, I decided not to give this establishment my hard earn money as a Nurse and looked elsewhere. Don't buy batteries here! These guys are crooks. They lied to me about warranty, several times, in the same sentence. I had stopped dealing with them because of similar issues, needed to warranty a battery and what a horrible hassle! I called around to get pricing for a battery for my 2012 Honda Civic. I was getting prices of anywhere from $110 to $125 for the same battery and warrant that they gave me for under $80! I pulled up and was taking the battery that I knew needed to be replaced out of my car. It was a very tight squeeze and Miguel noticed I was having a hard time and came out and offered assistance. Just then I got it out so I was good to go but getting the battery back in place was another challenge so he came out and gave me a hand. The guys here are very knowledgeable and definitely customer service oriented. This is the 2nd battery I have gotten here after replacing a Sears Die Hard in my '04 Chevy Colorado a couple of years ago. Don't bother with any of the big auto parts stores or the dealerships. Worse place to buy a battery . They don't put your purchase in a computer so you have to have your paper work for a warrantee . Then when you produce your paperwork they try to weasel out of the honoring it . I bought an expensive brand name battery 3 months ago it came apart from a defect . Customer service is horrible at this store they told me sorry there's nothing they can do and won't warrantee it no way . I had to call the General manager in Escondido . He was worse extremely rude and condescending , tried to tell me a bunch of bull shit on how what I was saying was impossible . I called the manufacturer and explained what happen and what was going on with the battery they have had the problem before and told me they will take care of it . They called the general manager and told him to warrantee it and to call me and let me know . I was referred to American Battery by The Truck Shop in Temecula. I am writing this review in appreciation of their honesty. Thought I needed two new batteries so I jump started the truck and drove it to their shop. The employee tested the batteries while the truck was running and felt the alternator was an issue due to low voltage and I probably should not replace them yet. The best part is he noticed my batteries were still under warranty. I was able to replace the alternator myself and took the truck to the dealer where I purchased the batteries and got them replaced at no charge. American battery did not get my business at that time but they gained a customer for the future. read more

I have bought batteries here for over 10 years. In 2013 I went to them because I needed a battery for a truck I have that I use mainly for camping and off road exploration. I had been using Yellow top Optimas in the past with very good results. I averaged 7 years life span on those. The sales person there convinced me to purchase a North Star battery and claimed it to be a much higher quality and said it would last much longer. ($100 more than an Optima) After two years it quit holding a charge and I brought it back. They replaced it, but charged me a pro rated fee. They marked the new battery with the original date and I left. A year later, same thing, only now they charged me for a three year prorate. Understand that at this point I could have bought a new battery for a few more dollars. Now, a little over a year later, I have a battery I paid to "prorate" and it's out of warranty, the amount I paid in Prorate fees adds up to more than the new cost of a battery. This North Star brand is absolute junk! Won't hold a charge, and these people at American battery are still trying to tell me how great it is. Each time I had a problem, I checked the truck for parasitic draw, I checked the alternator to see if it under or over charged, I also checked the diodes to see if it was producing AC that would harm a battery. Mind you, I have bought a lot of batteries here. For my personal vehicles alone, Dump truck, Bobcat, off road truck, golf cart, alarm system, quads, and motorcycles. Then, there's all my friends vehicles, everyone comes to me to help them when their vehicle won't start, I troubleshoot charging problems, parasitic draw, and other issues. Then there's all the batteries I have bought for fleet vehicles. I have had problems in the past with batteries I have bought here, and just dealt with it. The customer service was great at one time, but there's a new crew in there and they don't care about the customer. They could have called North Star and told them I have received 3 bad batteries in a row, they could have done something.. but they chose to try and make a dishonest dollar off of me and I'm not coming back. read more
