Faber's Appliance Repair

Faber's Appliance Repair

I have a GeekSquad warranty and when my 2 yo Samsung fridge stopped getting cold I called them…read more Unfortunately they were booked out until April so a contracted service company would be doing the repair. I was given a window of 8-12, which he called me and said he would be here in 30-40 minutes. He was. I'm not going to lie, this technician had no idea what he was doing. He was here 2-1/2 hours and left stating he was finished. He never told us parts needed to be ordered. He had been on his phone the entire time googling what to do next. Jabbing a screwdriver in vents to break up the ice... It was terrible. We called GeekSquad and was told because the service contract was still open they had to complete it. I was not happy. There was a 3 way call between myself, the warranty company and Faber's. The owner told us what needed to be ordered and that he would get the parts and call me to schedule. Still, I was angry. I did not want to let this company back into my home. I was told that 24-48 hours before the appointment I would need to unplug my fridge to allow the part of the fridge that had frozen, to unfreeze. I didn't have very high expectations for this next appointment. I will say however that I was pleasantly surprised. My window was 8-12, he called me at 11 and told me he would be here in about 30 minutes. He was. He was very friendly & came right in and got to work. He took pictures of the location of the shelves in my fridge to make sure he put them back the way I had them. (Very thoughtful) He showed me the part he was replacing and proceeded to work. When he was done he checked the temperature in the fridge for the next 40-ish minutes to make sure it was dropping the way it should. He chatted with my friend and I as we talked work horror stories. He was very personable and a real likable guy! Ernest (the company owner) was fabulous and I was thankful he came to do the repair. He knows his appliances! I don't know the name of the first tech that came to my house, but Ernest made up for him! I only gave the 4 stars because of the other guy. Ernest would get 5!!

My GE washer, less than a year old and still under the manufacturer's warranty, developed a major…read moreleak. Called GE Appliance and Service phone number at 1-800-GECares (1-800-432-2737). I was scheduled for an appointment through Bodewell, a company that manages and handles the service repair requests for GE (phone 833 426339355, yes it was a long phone number). Bodewell in turn, scheduled an appointment time with Topline Appliance Service (571 505 5580). I am not going to go into the details, but one should know that they are dealing with 3 levels of "paperwork, authorizations, and communications." Be sure that you know your CASE NUMBER if you run into any issues. GE will want this information. I am not going to sugar coat the process, it took from January 27th, when I first called in my repair to February 17th to finally get my washer repaired. There were many phone calls in between. There definitely is a communication issue, however, the good news is that Topline Appliance Service did an excellent job with the repair. Fahim, Jawid, and there was a third technician whose name I didn't get, did an outstanding job with servicing my washer. They even pointed out to me that the original installer of my new washer mixed up the hot and cold hoses. They adjusted the hoses for a nominal fee. My suggestion to anyone going through this process is to be proactive with your communications with these 3 companies. Re-confirm appointments ahead of time to be sure that there are no last minute changes, to also keep a log of all phone calls and to be proactive, do not wait for them to call you. I give Topline Appliance 5 stars for the great job their technicians did, but only 1 star for the three companies involved in the process. Update since I posted this review. GE customer support just sent me an email dated 17 Feb 2026 at 544 pm to follow up to see if the issue was resolved. Let me add their phone number as a reference: GE Appliances Consumer Relations 1-800-386-1215 option 4 and enter case number
