AMC has great seats, nice people. Been coming here for years, could use some updates and improvements

The location of this theater is great, as is how secluded it is; especially at off times and during the week; and especially if you are used to the hustle and bustle of the surrounding area. Unfortunately, maintenance of the theater, the heating and cooling, and the availability of more high tech auditoriums tend to be lacking. Definitely dress in sweatpants with shorts underneath, and a t shirt with one or two layers; and be prepared to maintain or remove layers, according to the time of year and the heating (or lack thereof) on the day you visit. The food is nothing amazing but isn't bad either; much less by cinema standards. Given how costs are rising across the board at a rapid pace, and how low culinary expectations tend to be, I actually have to give a decent to favorable review of this place's food (depending on who is doing the preparation, anyways).

The super awesome management and crew were certainly very helpful, informative and helpful

Oh, the movie mall. That's what my friend and I coined this place after visiting. It's a pretty odd setup to me. You park in a parking garage and enter into what feels like a mall to get to the theater. Only, there's a Panera, another random restaurant and then the movie theater itself. That's it- there's nothing else there. It's weird, and that's why we thought "movie mall" is an accurate depiction. But trust me on this, a movie mall is NOT as pleasant as it may sound, if it does sound nice to you. I know movie theaters can really range in being super gross or actually quite nice. The movie mall leans much more towards gross. Like, pretty icky overall. So, like dummies my friend and I accidentally walked into the wrong theater at first. But thank goodness it wasn't the theater we had to sit in, because it smelled AWFUL. So bad, like musty sweat and mold, almost as if something was wet and never got cleaned and it was disgusting. I felt bad for the people in that theater just sitting in the stink. Then we go to our actual theater where it thankfully smelled much more normal. But we end up moving from our assigned seats because you could literally seat the filth and lack of cleanliness on the chairs and side tables even in the dim lighting. Even pre covid this would've been really upsetting, like, do they ever clean their theaters? Who knows. The last thing, was that during our entire movie there was a really loud dripping/ clicking sound coming from somewhere in the theater. We couldn't pinpoint where it was coming from but it was really concerning, like was something about to break? Were we okay to be sitting in there for so long? Thankfully we got out very quickly and did not spend any extra time there. I hate to say that I do NOT recommend this movie mall place. There are plenty of nearby theaters in the Reston area that are wayyy better and won't make you feel like you need to shower after going.

The plus side is you can usually get a seat and the location is good. The service at the counter takes forever, if they actually have the food they advertise. For context, this was a big weekend with two HUGE movies, and they have about 2 bags worth of popcorn on hand and no other hot foods that they are making that day. The floors are stickier than a bar, and half the soda is "unavailable". This doesn't seem like AMC "wants people to come back to the movies" like they claim. They seem to be on the verge of being unviable. I figured the first two times back here that they were just getting their groove back. But it's consistent Also, you probably don't even need to buy tickets, since literally no one is there checking. Not a single human. There are plenty of other good theaters for another 5-10 minute drive beyond here. Avoid this one. I will be in the future.

My gross cup holder.

I was really not impressed with this location. I went here after a meeting to avoid traffic. It wasn't busy, but there didn't seem to be enough workers. I had to wait for the person at the box office to come over to the concessions. The theater smelled horrible. Like mildew. They did not feel clean. My cup holder was gross. I've attached a picture. I didn't feel great about using it. I don't think I'll return to this location even as an AMC A-List holder.

I guess it's ok to park right in front of the Theater instead of the garage?

Yes, although some spots are reserved for certain businesses, so pay attention to signage.

It would be very helpful if the company made this possible for guests to complete, online, similar to Draft. The theater is usually clean & well maintained. We've only had a few encounters with mild sticky or greasy spots. Restrooms are hit hard on the weekends, & would benefit from a few more frequent restocking of supplies on those busy days. On average, kept clean. Our main let down has consistently been the food & beverage service. We have tried to page a server for assistance after our food was delivered, on two separate visits, with no response. During one visit, we asked the server if we could order a swirl of both flavors, in an icee. The server confirmed & then charged & ordered two separate drinks. We didn't realize until we were handed both, so we asked the person dropping off the drinks to please bring us an extra cup so we could mix. No one ever came back with the cup they agreed to drop off. We've also repeatedly had an issue when ordering through the online set up. So we've basically given up on ordering anything & just enjoy the comfortable seating to watch a film.

Man, this place sucks. Bit on the 2026 Infinity Club deal during holidays last year (2025) and…read morethought it was a big red flag when they extended the Infinity Club deal for the next year (2027) before 2025 even ended, but alright, whatever. A deal is a deal. My wife and I have tried every conceivable method for ordering food when there and it never fails to get messed up or just not come out at all. 1) Speak to a staff member in the theater, and you basically have to type in your information yourself to get the deal on food else they default to charging you full price. Your other option is to loudly exclaim your personal information as slow as possible so they can type it in themselves. You might get your whole order after that. 2) Try using the QR codes on the theater tables and ordering more than one drink - that 2nd drink will never come out, and when you ask for refund after the movie ends the bartender/manager will try to just make one right there for you and/or act like they have to build a calculator from component parts to refund one thing. 3) Try using the Kiosks just inside the front door. It gives you the option to select when you want your food to come out. We chose 'ASAP' which was right at the start time of the showing, 7pm. We ordered at 625, then went up to the theater which was still being cleaned. Alright, fine, no worries - we grabbed a table on the 2nd floor and just waited for a few minutes. Then we noticed what ended up being our drinks being walked to the theater (while it was still being cleaned). We walked into the theater at 645, and nothing. My wife went out just before the show started to ask what was going on, and what do you know, the small ice water and dr. pepper were in fact brought to the theater 5 minutes after we ordered (again, while the lights were on and staff were cleaning tables). They didn't remake the drinks, they just pushed them towards her so she could deliver them herself. Melted ice with a melted receipt stuck to the lid. And the one drink from the bar was never remade, despite two staff members saying it was on the way. Walked out half way through the movie and asked for a refund. Manager acted like I was asking to use his cell phone or stick my hand in his pocket, but begrudgingly refunded the one measly drink. And it wasn't some wild custom job - it was the SubZero drink that was just a frozen marg with blue caraco. Anecdotally, there was a gentleman sitting next to us who also had to go out and retrieve the drink he ordered which looked like a simple glass of liquor. There were probably less than 10 people in the theater, it wasn't busy. I really wanted to love this place, but that drive to One Loudoun for The Alamo just became worth it again. Oh, and the exit escalator has been broken for at least a year.

Mark Phillips and Ryan Phillips were both terrific. The one we voted for did indeed win, but they were both great! The Saturday we were there, there were two performances. We chose the 5pm one. It's a fast-paced show that kept us laughing, intrigued and highly entertained. A very fun, wonderful way to spend entertainment dollars in DC. Not a bad seat in the house! This is downstairs in the historic Mayflower Hotel, nice and close to the Farragut North Metro Stop. Definitely appropriate for all ages. Highly recommend!

I recognize that the Magic Duel takes huge pride in 5 star reviews on Yelp, which I deeply respect. But I did wish that we had seen the show in a different venue. I am no stage expert, but lights and sound do matter a lot in delivery of a magic show for a skeptic like me, going because the significant other loves magic shows. With better lighting, things would have been more "magical" (thinking bottles.) I was also surprised that a bubble artist, as good as she was in her profession, was considered a magician. After some quick research, you will end up at Magic Duel in this genre, so please go to Dupont or Georgetown.
