Tyler, Texas offers several locations to go see a new movie. However, I have found that AMC on S Broadway Ave is the best option. My Fiance and I see a new movie weekly at this theater. As AMC Stubs Premier Members, we earn points for every movie we see and it usually saves us some money on the concessions. It's also nice to have a digital copy of all the ticket stubs. Almost forgot to mention, you get to skip the line as a Stubs Member, which is very nice if you're running late. As for the theater itself, they do a great job of showing a variety of new and classic movies in all genres, including anime. There is a large concession stand with a lot of options. There is also a small bar inside the theater. Food and drinks can be ordered in advanced with the app and they will be waiting for you on arrival. The theater is usually very clean and organized. IMAX, BigD, Digital, and 3-D films are offered at this Theater. The seats in IMAX and BigD are great! The seats in the other theaters need to be updated to something more comfortable though. The crew lead Sean was absolutely terrible. Terrible customer service, so rude and discriminating. Used vulgar facial expressions and not suitable for customer service. As a business owner I would hate to have her as the face of my team. Got upset because she had to do her job and her manager overturned her decision (wrong btw). If you go to AMC and have her just go ahead and get in a different line because she's going to give you a hard time for breathing. Movie theater was clean and nice though, it was just that employee. Walked in roof was leaking. No was mopping floor. Got in line for popcorn. Several people working or standing around, including team lead. They said next we walked up to register and the person walked off. We stood there for a few minutes, then decided to take a step back, then the team lead came up and said next. I told we were next. No one welcomed anyone. Just not a friendly person working there. No interface with anyone. It was like no one wanted to be there. Place cold just like the people standing around. I came to see gladiator last night, and the mid length, dirty blonde haired young man working the register claimed the bar tender had called in sick, and no one was certified to serve alcohol, which is fine. However, today, the day after this experience, I returned to view the war of the rohirrim, and once again I asked if alcoholic beverages were able to be served. A young man with dark hair was the one behind the counter, he seemed unsure and said he would go ask. He asked the same young man that I had spoken to the night before, and that individual simply told him no. I was given no reason as to why I couldn't be served, simply denied service. This is pathetic and as a patron of more than a decade of this theater I have never experience such blatant disregard to satisfy a customer. Pitiful. Do something to help your two star average. The place seemed closed when we arrived for the Queen movie at 6pm tonight. The girl who sold concessions was pretty nice, all was good. When we walked out of the movie to the concession I asked the young guy with the black shaggy hair if the popcorn was refillable. He barely looked at me, didn't say a word, grabbed the bag and I asked if he could fill it 1/2 way please. He turned around with the bag 1/2 full and handed it to me. I said thank you and again, he said not one word to me. He was very rude, was in his phone when I walked up and seemed like he didn't want to be there. SPEAK!!!!!!! This theater does not have a ticket booth and you have to wait in a long concession line just to get your ticket. I arrived just in time to see my movie and asked the manager if I could pay afterward, as I would miss part of my movie. He said no. I asked if I could leave him my credit card and go see the movie. We returned to this theater for the first time in quite a while to watch the new Star War's movie with our best friends. We attended a Sunday night showing. The place itself was clean. I was happy to see a recently cleaned restrooms which is always a huge hit no matter where you're going. We were very pleasantly surprised at the comfort of the seats. They reclined just the right way and the cushioning was just the right amount. I was so comfortable that I came very close to falling asleep. Not only were the seats surprisingly comfortable there was plenty of room around them so that you had plenty of space around you so that it's not necessary to worry about annoying the folks seating behind you by ending up reclining into their laps. The only issue we had was with the quality of my friend's pretzel. He always orders one when he visits this place. This particular night the taste as very pronounced and it smelled like it had a ton of yeast in it. My friend purchased two of them in order for my husband and I to try his favorite pretzels that he loves so much. None of us could stand to finish either one of the pretzel this particular night. Mind you it is about 42 degrees out and I did not dress to stand out in the cold, I dressed to stand in a theater. My first time back since they switched from Carmike to AMC. NOT IMPRESSED. 36 degrees outside and a sign on each theater door that says their heater is not working and you can get a refund. AFTER you've paid for your ticket. A seat in theater 3 is covered with a tarp that says "Out of Order". Out of order? You mean it's broken? The men's room had a urinal because it too is out of order. The only other normal height urinal has so much urine on the floor you have stretch your legs so far apart to not stand in pee that you are almost standing in the next urinals space. Which has pee on the floor. Paper towel dispensers are lever activated and are covered with I hope at this point is water. We won't be back. read more

What happened to this place? My wife and I went last weekend for the first time in a while. We don't go to see movies often, and when we do, we've been going to Studio Movie Grill since it opened. We decided to change it up and go to this theater since we haven't been here since the name change. The appearance of the theater looks very run-down now. It feels as if they stopped caring about the aesthetics of the place. We went to an early show around noon and ordered drinks, popcorn, and nachos. After five minutes of the worker running around trying to find the nachos, he came back with a tostito's boxed nachos with tostito's nacho cheese. We didn't say anything at first until we felt that the cup of cheese was cold/room temp. For $9? No thanks. This place needs some renovations. Until then, we'll stick to SMG. read more

The experience was great; however we did get a little confused as to where we were supposed to go. Our movie was in theater 6, if I remember correctly, so we went in and picked seats. It was a fancy, luxurious theater with nice new rocking seats! Just before the time our movie was supposed to begin one of our party stepped out for something and noticed that we were in the wrong theater (7) due to a confusion with the signs. We moved into the correct theater thankfully just in time for the movie. It was not a bad theater by any means, but much older and less fancy with non-rocking seats. Terrible experience. While standing In line for concessions, I had to wait for the employees to stop talking for one to take my order. Asked to scan my stubs card, scanner is broken. Cashier struggled with entering in card code. Got my total after ordering and asked if my discount had been applied for my large popcorn and large drink. The cashier said yes, but it was not. I asked for my large popcorn to have layered butter. After receiving my popcorn, I was told that butter was self serve. I asked if I could dump out half my popcorn to put butter on, and bring it back. Cashier said no. This is the first location I have EVER had this issue. Other small issue for popcorn- my tub wasn't even full. When I ordered my drink, I asked if they had Pibb. The cashier said yes, but was later told but several other employees that Pibb was completely out, and had been for a while. Overall, this location is not worth the money. If you want to damage your hearing forever and be in physical pain because it's too loud, go here. Or if you want a free movie and you think it was too loud. I love this theater! I have been going here for4 years, and I'm glad it's still in business when so many independent theaters are going under. They show top shows early, don't charge an arm and a leg, and the theater has one smallish seating area and one large one. The only downside is that it sells out quickly, so you have to get there a tad early! Or go to the early shows. read more

We just moved from Dallas area where Cinemark theaters are everywhere; this AMC theatre is far inferior from the seating (Cinemark has luxury loungers - recliners), concessions were crazy expensive ($9.73 for a small water + medium soft drink). Our movie had a showtime of 1:45 and we had to sit through an entire 1/2 hour of mostly commercials and a few movie trailers. If this is the best Tyler has to offer then we'll be doing day trips to Dallas for movies! read more

The theater wasn't too crowded, so we didn't need to worry about disturbing anyone if/when the child (3 years old) needed to step out for a break. I went and saw Mad Max in 3D with my girlfriend on a weekend. The tickets were $13.25 each which is a little more than I was expecting. The movie picture and sound quality were good. We didn't have any issues with loud people during the movie or crowds of young people congregating in the parking lot. My advice, do the matinee. read more
