My kids love coming here to watch movies. Every time we come, they have to get popcorn and a slush. The best part is with the membership you get free refills, so it actually ends up being a really good deal. Honestly, if you like going to the movies and come even just a couple times a year, the membership pretty much pays for itself. Definitely worth it if you're planning to watch movies regularly. The theater itself is really nice too. The seats are comfy recliner-style sofas, so you can just sit back and relax during the movie. Since the movie theater has closed down in College Point, this has been my new go to movie theater since it has a large parking lot and fairly close to my house. They have a good selection of snacks in their concession stand and their popcorn is usually very fresh. Their bathrooms are usually very clean. Their theater seats could use a better cleaning since sometimes they are sticky so I tend to take my own wipes and disinfectant when I go. read more

The theater has that nostalgic, homey feel since it's been around for so long, but it could really use a deep clean. This summer Deadpool & Wolverine dropped in theaters and "somebody's son" grabbed tix for us. I haven't attended this location in years and boy oh boy time has not been kind to this theater. While some of the staff was kind, the wear and tear was on full display. Many seats were inoperable, with armrest broken / leaning and barely hanging on. In addition the theater was just dirty, trash was everywhere. This could have been contributed to under staffing, however it did not make for an enjoyable experience. We went to an early evening show during the week so it wasn't busy, but yet still not clean. Just A Note: While this location may be convenient for some, there is a need for some major maintenance. A full reno wouldn't be a bad idea. read more

I can remember the last time I was here was in 1985. I came today today to see NAPOLEON. I updated my amc perks and I came to collect my birthday perk of a free large popcorn. The employees were very helpful, patient, and courteous. They helped me with my ticket purchase because I purchased online but it never showed. I even got help collecting my free popcorn. Every engagement with each employee was really awesome and comforting. The huge parking lot was a plus as it provided ample parking spaces. The entire facility was very clean and the environment was calm. I'll be revisiting really soon. read more

This is usually my go to place to watch movies, however this visit was a bit different, I sat in the imax theater and it was massive, the picture was clear as Crystal and overall a good experience. However I found that the sound was way too loud and they have the newer recliner chairs that's do not go back all the ways it's, also it is semi-touch so no physical buttons, and the it's a lot more difficult to push the buttons down. We went to the movies and the concession stands were busy but dirty. The floors were very sticky. Once we got to our seats, we were shocked to see the seats we were sitting in were broken and wobbly and ripped. The theater itself was not clean also. This is my new primary theater ever since Douglaston Movieworld's greedy landlord forced it to shut down. I'm old enough to remember when this place had a sister theater across the LIE with a beautiful mural painted on the facade. That building has long since been demolished, but the one on 190th St. remains. It's gone through a couple of renovations over the decades. PROS - Wonderful, comfortable (almost TOO comfortable) leather reclining seats with ample arm and leg room - Clean facilities - Online ticket and concession ordering. Chances of waiting on long lines are slim - Audience behaves themselves - They don't check bags, which is totally NOT an endorsement to smuggle in those sweet, forbidden outside snacks. Totally not. - Prime real estate. Located in a minimall with lots of alternative dining options and free parking CONS - Grossly overpriced tickets and concessions (par for the course these days, sadly) - Assigned seating (just gives them an excuse to charge extra fees and make it hard to redeem AMC Gold or Silver tickets) - New IMAX room is a joke. Screen is barely larger than the standard rooms' screen and somehow the seats are LESS comfortable. - No concession stands or bathrooms on the 2nd floor. So, yeah. Not the most glamorous theater around, but you could definitely do a lot worse. read more

I am fine with that; I prefer to be a force for positive sentiments, especially on the internet. I have been to AMC Fresh Meadows 7. I will go again. It is my local theatre. I could walk or bike there, and I have done that. With all that said, I will put it as politely as possible. The IMAX is not the most impressive of that projection format I have seen. The screen is not large. The auditorium is not large. If it were not marked as IMAX, and sold as such, I would not have known. But it is what is available. So just be aware in advance. There's nothing wrong with the operation. It is exactly as expected otherwise. read more

Came for a Sunday matinee. The main reason for my leaving a review is that the manager was super helpful. We had an issue with the tickets we bought online through Fandango and the manager was accommodating and immediately just gave us new seats. The main lobby isn't the cleanest but the theater itself was clean and the recliners were comfy-overall pretty standard for an AMC. There is easy free parking, which is great for the area. read more

Haven't been to this theater in years but decided to come on Sunday morning to see the new Wakanda movie. Very comfortable seats in the IMAX theater. The pretzel snacks were delicious, I was just dissatisfied they had no hot drinks. I know I am in a movie theater but they had display photo of cinnamon sticks or something with a coffee, so wouldn't you assume they served both? Anyways the theater was FREEZING!!! It was a long movie and I felt by the hour it kept getting colder. Then I go to the bathroom and there was roach on the floor and a running toilet bowel??!!! I mean I know this not any of the employees faults cause they were all so friendly but come on AMC you charge $22 per person and you can't hire a exterminator or plumber? Although a few times, the theatre was out of popcorn buckets for the kids, for the most part, this is my go to theatre. I always order tickets ahead of time and never have a problem. The food options are plentyfull and the theatre is usually clean, ive never experienced it being dirty or sticky like others have said. Ive seen alot of movies here and only once had a defective seat, which they comped me for with no problem. What i like the most is that its not a busy, noisy theatre, Most people who attend here are adults with kids, so rarely any rowdy teenagers. read more

In the early 00s, THX certified a little theater in Baltimore, Maryland called the Senator. It was a first for THX to certify a pre-WWII theater, being around before THX standards were put in place, and that story reminded me of the IMAX at AMC Fresh Meadows 7, or rather, the IMAX reminded me of that story. Here we have an IMAX theater, known for their massive screens and stadium seating, now configured in a non-stadium seated theater, with a screen bigger than what was projected, admittedly a non-issue due to their laser projectors. The Fresh Meadows theater was iconic for being the first post-WWII single-screen to open in Queens back in the late 40's, and although there is someone inside of me to wish it to be back to its former glory, the reality is that the multiplex configuration is here to stay. This Sunday afternoon, it was raining and I went with my uncle to see Megalopolis. The trailers in the IMAX 12-channel system were too overbearing, but the film itself was tuned just perfect, actually more perfect than the Regal Westbury IMAX as I previously saw Megalopolis there on the fan event with the live performance. Seeing a picture in IMAX at AMC Fresh Meadows was a humbling experience as it reminded me of seeing big movies like Lawrence of Arabia at the AFI Silver 1 in Silver Spring, Maryland. It's a perfect blend of the old and the new, just like what Francis Ford Coppola set out to do when making Megalopolis. read more

Did a review about 4 years ago and now I'm back. Back in 2018 I did a review and I said I enjoyed it. Since then this move theater have been my go too. I always enjoyed her and it has gotten better. Back in 2018 they were very unknown for some, but since then they upgraded manny things. The IMAX theater (which is still very nice for the size) recently added Laser. So now it's IMAX With Laser just like the AMC in the one in the city (Empire 25). And they stared to add Laser At AMC which is a brighter and more better projection system. It's become more modern. I guess they went under new ownership . New Coca-Cola Freestyle machines are great. Fun to use. As I said 4 years ago if you like in Queens or Anywhere in the city you should check it out. Customer service is nice, cool people. Bathroom are public bathrooms what can you expect. It's nice, until Bay Terrace goes through major renovations . I shall keep my stance here. Free parking in the back. Very nice people working at the ticket booth. Concessions is a bit of a mess. There was no clear line. People just stood around and crowded the area. Customers order by themselves on large touch screen devices and the people behind the counter grab you what you order. Ours was a special case We had a popcorn voucher through AAA and was helped almost immediately.The seats inside are clean. We did wait past the entrance time to get our seats because of how thoroughly they were cleaning the theatre. I took one star off because there was no restroom on the top floor, making it very inconvenient. You don't want to miss more of your movie because you have to go another flight or stairs down. And imagine doing that with a few kids or with your 90 year old grandma. They had more than enough 3D glasses for us. I like that the seats weren't sticky or ripped like other AMC locations. Definitely worth paying a few extra bucks for this location. read more

Wow this theater is gross. It's dirty and unorganized, the theaters are too small. Generally uncomfortable seating with the ugly red leather that has seen better days, and the overall seating plan is uncomfortable as the seats are way to close for comfort. Air was filthy too and stuffy, no AC and made for a sweaty viewing. Ugh. Concession offerings were a rip off but aren't they all? I've had better popcorn that's for sure. I had a $5 coupon that I could only use here so I was forced to watch a movie in this place, I wouldn't watch another at this theater even for free. Basically, the environment at this AMC theater just isn't conducive to a fun movie experience. If you have any other option, skip this place. read more

Parking lot was great. We saw Oppenheimer. The Imax screen was the smallest Imax I've seen in my life. The sound was too loud. It was difficult to understand what they were saying the sound was so loud and distorted. Popcorn was a little burnt. Drink machine drinks tasted watered down or flat. At first the AC was nice, but they must have turned it off half-way through. It turned hot at the end. It seems like people forgot how to run movie theaters after the pandemic. read more

Last night, I redeemed my free movie ticket via Atom Tickets app because I have been wanting to see The Upside. Since the Bay Terrace AMC wasn't showing the movie and the second closest AMC was this location so I came here today to see The Upside. I lined up at the registers so they can scan my Atom Tickets app barcode to print out my actual movie stubs. This movie theater was huge with a downstairs (concessions, IMAX, and restrooms) and upstairs. There was only one escalator to go up and next to it were stairs to go down. I don't get why they couldn't have just escalators. The recliners seemed lower than the Bay Terrace ones. My seat wasn't as comfy though and my feet were dangling over it. There was a huge armrest separating my seat and the one next to me...that seriously took up so much space. When the previews were done, the lights were turned off. I flipped the armrest towards the back and it literally hit someone's foot who sat behind me. When the movie ended, I got up and found the armrest on the floor of the next aisle. Man they need better and comfortable recliners like BayTerrace. Don't forget to link your AMC rewards with your Atom Tickets app! You can accumulate so much points. read more

Over 5 years ago when I came here, the concession area was filthy, however since returning (a family member of mine prefers this theater) things have changed. This in fact is my "go to theater" lol. The concession stand is still downstairs, however every time I've seen a movie, it has been at one of the theaters downstairs, so that's been working out. I'm not even sure if they utilize upstairs anymore. read more

The last straw was getting tickets to see Wakanda Forever 3D. The theatre had problems with the projector which made everything blurry, and they had to restart the movie when they could correct it. Add to this that it was HOT and sweaty in the theatre and you get a not-fun movie experience. They refused to give movie vouchers out despite all this. And, I learned that the theatre just needs renovations hence all the issues. On a past visit, for instance, the seat I was in the IMAX theatre would not recline. It was broken. So, it comes down to their desire to stay open but also to renovate and if you encounter an issue while you're there, you are out of luck. It's a new theatre for us. read more

I had a great time at AMC Fresh Meadows theater watching a 3-D movie (Mission Impossible) in a big plush reclining lounge chair. The theatre was renovated to include more spacious seating and the prices of tickets reflect the upgrades; all I want to know is when did tickets go up to $22? I feel so violated for my date getting robbed on date night and so out of touch for not knowing that a movie night for two with food, drinks and popcorn was almost $100! I have been to other movie theaters in NYC and this one was the worst experience lemme tell you why. Community - A lot of the people that go here had zero manners. People just talking, using their phones in the middle of the movie. Literally taking their socks off to put feet on the chair smelly feet smell in the air.. Theater- Chairs were sticky and smelled bad in the room. The cup holders had puddles of water in there so I couldn't put my soda. Felt so grimy and sweaty in the theater. Humid too. Food - Never seen a dirtier food and drink station at movie theater. The soda station looked like it was not cleaned all day , sticky soda spilled everywhere and popcorn crumbs everywhere. Food tasted nasty too. Hot dog was so salty and bread was stale yet it was 7 dollars. The nacho cheese tasted spoiled and way too salty chips. Just go to a different theater in my opinion. read more

I WOULD LEAVE 0 STARS IF I COULD On Monday 6/19/23 at 10:45pm my family and I went to AMC Fresh Meadows 7 with my son to watch Transformers. My son is wheelchair-bound and has a vision impairment. He was so excited that he was finally going to be able to go to the movie theater since 2019. BUT we had a very bad experience because this place DID NOT have the AUDIO DESCRIPTION device for him to be able to enjoy the movie. This surprised me because early that same day I went in person at 2:15pm and asked the employees if the audio description device was working properly. I was told REPEATEDLY that everything was working correctly. What a DISAPPOINTMENT!!! When we arrived we were made to wait for over 15 minutes, meanwhile his cousins were getting the snacks. An employee came and SAID sorry but the device was not working for a while already. Weird, because I asked EARLIER and they didn't tell me that. Do you think that people with disabilities don't deserve the same treatment as everybody else!!!!! He was very sad and I am very angry with this place. I enjoy AMC theaters very much however this one is by far the worst i been to in movie theaters. Not to mention how much more expensive it is then AMC's by Long Island NY. The theater was very dirty. Ordered some Food, my daughter and friend said the sliders did not taste right. thrown out. And i felt like i was being babysat. I am 45 and a grown ass man scolds me because i took out my phone to look at time. He literally stood next to our seats until i put the phone back in the purse. Mind you. I know to put the phone away and i do for most part but i dont shut it off incase someone has to reach me for emergencies. i was very disappointed and will not be returning. First and last time at this AMC. There is one by bell terrace. That one is way better for those in Queens. My go to AMC is definitely AMC Levittown with dine in service. read more

AMC Fresh Meadows 7 is quite a treat to be at. I am an avid movie goer at this location so I think I'm a pretty reliable source as to how this theater is. I think the pass you are able to buy giving you 3 movies a week was a brilliant idea and made me stick here. This isn't specific to the location of course but I love it. I can't say I've had any negative experience with the workers. I love the seats especially the red ones and I'll get to the IMAX theater later, but they are definitely some of the best in theaters around here. Service, however, is pretty on and off with recently I'd say a lot faster but there have been times where despite getting the food for pickup, they take forever to prepare it. I'm ending up waiting there anyways. I'd also say the IMAX theater while having good qualities has some obvious pitfalls especially when we talk about the seats. I think they should just use the red seats because I don't like they can't lean all the way back. The bathroom is also all the way at the bottom floor, so if you need to use the bathroom a lot it can be a bit kind of a break due to having to walk all the way down, even if you are upstairs. They also don't hand you the food in your seats like other AMC theaters do. I go to this location regularly but I'd say that the food is good and an overall great movie theater, I think due to some of my suggestions they can get a 4.5/5 read more

One of my favorite movie theaters to go to (partially because the closest AMC theater to me). I believe that this was the first AMC to get the recliner seats in NYC. I first came here in college when they were first doing renovations. It was close enough to my school and cheap since we were able to get tickets through the school. There are 2 buses that go here so it's kind of convenient. Also there is a large parking lot in the back so that makes it easy if you're driving. It is located in an area with a few restaurants and stores. I love coming here because the seats are comfy and their rewards program is great! The IMAX theater is probably my least favorite because for some reason, they didn't use the same red chairs in this theater. These don't go as low as the red ones and are a bit uncomfortable in the angle in which they lower. The snacks and drinks are in the lower level. The lines move pretty quick and service is good. Bathrooms are located on the same floor and are kept relatively clean. Overall, I love coming here and enjoy my time here whenever I come to watch a movie. read more
