I went to high school a few blocks away from this theater, but that was around 11 years ago. I came back to this theater today to watch Project Hail Mary and was taken aback on how different the Bay Terrace area looked. I did not order any concessions at this theater, but I can assume the food is just as good as other theaters. The check in process with staff is usually quick as they just scan the QR ticket code and point guests to the respective theaters. Guess what, they have reclining seats! Those are honestly few and far in between. My local regal theater doesn't even have recliner seats. I also adore the claw machines in the lobby, that is a nice new addition to the theater. read more

I have been coming to this movie theater for many years, ever since high school. The prices of Tuesday's and Wednesday are on the cheaper side which are the days I go on. Their concession stand is pretty good with fresh popcorn. They could definitely do better in cleanliness. Sometimes the seats are a a little sticky and the floors aren't cleaned well after each showing. I have also sometimes gotten seats where the recliners don't work. read more

Yeah, I really like this movie theater! I think this will be my go-to spot whenever I want to catch a movie. My family and I had a great time here. There's plenty of parking, which is always a plus, and it's conveniently located near other stores and restaurants Avo Taco being one of them, which is great. I purchased our tickets and selected our seats online, so check-in was super easy. The service inside was good, and the concession area was clean, which I always appreciate. The popcorn was okay kind of cold but since it's near the front door, I wasn't too surprised. The theater itself isn't huge, but it's not small either just the right size and it's very clean inside. We went to see Stitch Head, which was a Halloween movie. I ended up falling asleep (it just wasn't for me), but my daughter really enjoyed it, and that's what mattered most. My wife and I recently watched a movie at this location to watch Avatar: the way of the water and we had a very pleasant experience at this movie theater. We purchased our movie tickets online with an accompanying meal. As soon as we checked in we were asked as to what time we wanted our food delivered at our seats, eventually the food and drinks came to us at the right time. This location has recliner seats, I just noticed that this location is much cleaner than the one at Fresh Meadows. The movie theater smells better and visually they kept everything clean. One of the best theaters in Queens. It is always very convenient to book your seats online and ahead of time to find very good seats that are not too close or too far from the screen. Everything that my wife and I experienced here is very satisfactory and convenient. I highly recommend this specific location when you are up to watching in a movie theater. read more

Bay terrace is pretty small and in need of an upgrade. The staff is always polite if a little strict but often there is something out of order. I can't remember the last time I went and tue fryer or the popcorn maker wasn't broken. It is a better alternative to fresh meadows which is a nightmare and closer than Levittown which is my preferred theater. I would be sad to see this location go due to its convenience but I would really like to see them fix it up a bit. read more

Lately I've been going to the AMC in Fresh Meadows and I haven't been happy. I've been to the Bay Terrace before but after my experience today I'm only going to go there to see my movies! The staff is so nice and both the theater and the bathroom are very clean. The area of the concession stand is very organized and the perfect size. And a bonus plus is that all the theater rooms are on the same floor!! Right by the concession stand and the bathroom. Today my friend and I were sitting in the theater through the previews when I started to not feel well so we had to leave. We told them we had to leave because I didn't feel well and the staff gave us a pair of free movie vouchers for the next time we come! I was very impressed! Fast service. One of the nicer AMC locations in the area. Got fries and pretzels within a few minutes of ordering. The cashier was helpful and nice on a rainy Saturday morning. There's plenty of parking outside. The AMC is a bit hidden if you haven't been there before. It is part of the upper level shops. Parking on the lower levels is very hectic on weekends. I went up the parking garage and parked upstairs. The seats here were wiped between each movie and they also recline. The bathrooms were clean and had a lot of stalls. I bought my movie ticket on Wednesday for this morning's showing of Jumanji: The Next Level! I saw the Original one with Robin Williams but I haven't seen Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle yet! Atom Tickets was actually partnering with Chase Pay from 12/11/2019-1/1/2020 where I saved 7 bucks #score...I absolutely love saving money and I haven't paid full price for a very long time. It only takes me 10 minutes to walk from my house to this AMC located at the upper level of the Bay Terrace so I am never late to see a move lol Two seats away from where I was sitting...this guy was snoring mad loud and I actually have to stuff tissue in my right ear SMH I love some "me" time so I actually love going to the movies alone! Clean and spacious. Parking spots could be wider though. If you have anything bigger than a compact car you'll have trouble opening your doors. We always try to park far away in a corner somewhere. I love to come to watch AMC movies. As an A-List member, I frequent visit here and I find that it is a conveniently located spot with nothing flashy, but a good movie-watching experience. The concession stand is semi-automated with touch screen ordering technology. This helps to speed things up, which is helpful, especially when you're running late for your movie but need a snack or drink. The staff is generally friendly and helpful too. One comment I will make is that the butter dispenser is somethings clunky. Sometimes the butter is low, so you'll press it and nothing will come out, so I doubt the staff has any sense of predictive processes to make sure they are constantly at sufficient levels. Also, sometimes, the button gets sticky, and butter will keep flowing long past after you let go, wasting butter. It also requires your hand to press the button, which during COVID times does not feel like the most sanitary experience. The bathroom situation is pretty inconvenient, especially if you are on the upper floor for a movie. There is only one male and one female bathroom in the entire theatre and it is on the very bottom floor. So if you have a movie on the top floor, you'll want to keep that in consideration. Otherwise, the theatres are fine, normal quality, and the crowds are generally respectful. Parking is plentiful, and there are tons of commercial institutions right near by for food, snacks, etc. read more

We came here on a Saturday night to watch a movie and it wasn't very crowded. You can get concessions before giving your ticket and the bathrooms are right by the ticket checker so my young nephew was able to use the bathroom while we were getting snacks. The staff were efficient and nice. We have the A list subscription but it didn't save us time anyway because there was no one else on line. As usual, the concessions are super expensive but I guess they have to make money. We went to theater 3 which has the reclining seats and they were AMAZING. THere was plenty of room for everyone, easy to use and it was a relatively small theater so not too many hooligans and disrupters. I would definitely come again, parking was ample so it made it easier to visit. read more

Wow, my first visit here since they renovated into those reserved seating type theaters. I was in Theater 6, to see Ferdinand with my 8 yr old. She too was amazed at the seating. The theater itself was spacious and very comfy. All the seats recline at just the touch of a button. And it has a nice arm rest and cupholder. Fancy red leather too. Just FYI, I was sitting in the second row to the front and not knowing the layout, was concerned we were too close. But with the recliner and the new space between rows, it was not bad at all! Figure in a standard theater, I was probably in row six or so from the front just to give you a reference. I do see though that the pricing has increased but you now have a piece of mind knowing that you can reserve your seat and it'll be there for you when you arrive. No more worrying about a show being sold out or where to sit, assuming you've purchased it ahead of time. On this visit I was cutting it close to the start time so I skipped the concession stand. But I did glimpse the new soda/drink vending machines by Coca-Cola. I've seen them before at the theme parks, you can choose any flavor combinations and diet or regular. Cool. read more

This AMC at Bayside has been here as long as I can remember, and it's always been a favorite neighborhood theater. The somewhat recent renovations with the reclining seats led to a drastic increase in pricing (this used to be a cheap place for a film, at least in NYC!), but the staff here is consistently friendly and chill, which really helps you feel at home, relaxed and ready to just lay back and watch a movie. The food here, while obviously pricy, has improved significantly in both the offerings and quality. There are a ton of places to eat at in Bay Terrace, but if you just want a snack or you're short on time, I wouldn't hesitate to eat in. The reserved seating is pure awesome, and as a long time MovieWatcher/Stubs member, I'd choose this theater anytime over the slowly deteriorating one at College Point! read more

Came here twice and it really needs to be revamped. The seats are a bit old and the bathrooms need to be redone.

The last time I was there was to watch the Earthquake - about 1976 Tangshan earthquake - quarter of million people vanished, incl my step mother... Nowadays reclining seats is in fashion. Finally went to a movie theater post-covid. So first things first, the last time I went to this specific theater was in my high school days, the only reason I went here was due to wanting to watch a specific movie, which this theater offered as opposed to Fresh Meadows AMC. Located on the upper level of Bay Terrace, there is ample parking space. Staff was friendly, and tickets and food can be bought ahead of time. Onto the theater space itself, it's quite small compared to Fresh Meadows but there are comfy reclining seats. I sat in row C, frankly I felt the seats were quite close to the screen itself, row D seems ideal. Overall an ok place for movies, another plus is additional shopping and food available in the vicinity. read more

FINALLY they updated the movie theater, very refreshing and clean. Just keep in mind if you want to watch a a new release you have to reserve your tickets prior (1-2 days) because its assigned seating. Since the upgrade we preferred the AMC in Bayside vs Fresh Meadows because its smaller and feels more intimate. Loving the recliner seats, which were comfortable and clean. The facility was extremely clean and maintained. The bathrooms were clean and well stocked. The staff were professional, welcoming and friendly. We reserved a 10:15pm show, however the previews was about 40+ min!!! First time ever :( But overall we all had a great time. read more

Surely one of the best theaters in Queens. How they even have enough seats to sit all the people coming here I'll never know. Usually I go when it's quiet so I have a chance to enjoy the time alone. Though the movie moments when others are in the theater are unmatched. Unfortunately this place deserves more than 5 stars. Pretty sure they have the cleanest theaters in NY. Just make sure to come expecting the best experience you've ever had seeing a movie. After the show the crew is always making sure that you feel welcome to return. The staff is helpful even when they're a bit overloaded with a big crowd. It's slightly less expensive than the AMC in Fresh Meadows. Pretty clean and convenient. Big parking lot which is nice. Have not been here since I saw 'La La Land' with my sister approx. six years ago. Today I decided to walk to AMC Bay Terrace 6 in hopes of catching a movie, and I did with 'Avatar: The Way of Water'. Overall a pretty basic, "no-frills" movie-going experience. Firstly, the upgrade to Laser projectors on every screen was tremendous, made the films look as good as they need to be without the polarizing 3D glasses filters needlessly darkening the image. Secondly, it provides a very quiet, relaxed atmosphere compared to other theaters around the area (Regal Tangram, College Point). Sound was decent, I had the misfortune of hearing a poorly-mixed trailer for 'Oppenheimer' before the film, but of course Nicole Kidman saying "indescribable" in the AMC Theaters trailer did not sound as bad as it sounded on YouTube. However, like all good things the theater isn't without its flaws. I ordered a tub of popcorn to go with my seat but alas, nobody came. Luckily, I went to the cashier/concession man to help me get my order. I've read other people got their orders pretty quickly. Secondly, the color temperature on the projector in Auditorium #1, which was where I was seated in, was too cold. I remember the faces looking a bit too pale or purple for my tastes and I would have personally set the temperature to the standard 6500K. This is also a problem I have encountered at College Point, but all in all it was beyond my control. The AMC Bay Terrace 6 has risen from the ashes of a pandemic and with newer, nearby theaters, it remains a quiet, studious place to catch a movie. read more

This place is great. I like the reclining seats and this place brings back the glorious feeling of going to the movies. People coming here are generally pretty well manored. Parking lot is generous with places to eat around. The staff is generally helpful and the place is clean. Speakers are calibrated well and not destroying my ear drums. *Yes my previous review was a bit punitive, but that came at a pre pandemic time, and well... I didn't know how much I'd miss the theaters until I couldn't go* AMC has great theaters. This is a very clean and small theatre. The staff are very professional and courteous to the patrons of this establishment. I visited this theatre around 2:00 on a Friday afternoon to see Zombieland and the most unpleasant part of the whole experience might have been some of the people in the waiting area who weren't too pleasant to one of the theatre employees. The incident was very short but the decorum that they employee showed made me want to frequent this theatre more often . The employee announced that " the 2:45 Zombieland movie theatre was ready for customers to be seated" and one of the patrons walked over to the employee and asked her " do any of us look like Zombieland people to you ?" The employee smiled and brushed off the patrons snide remarks and continued with her task at hand. She was very professional and refused to engage in the negativity that the patron was trying to spew at her and I found that commendable. The bathrooms are cute and clean with working toilets , faucets and hand dryers. The theatres are nice, clean and spacious with recliner chairs . However I suggest you sit in ROW C or D . Anything closer will probably hurt your eyes or neck. Oh yes two tickets are about $28.00 which is reasonable but a bottle of water is $5.00 and sour candy and a small popcorn will run you about $15.00 so keep that in mind . My experience was great and I will return . P.S. the movie selections are limited . I wanted to see Black and Blue but that movie wasn't available. There were only 5 movie selections and Zombie land was the best choice. read more
