Having to say goodbye to my beloved dog of 15 years was absolutely heartbreaking, and it was not an easy decision to make. From the moment we were there, they treated us with so much understanding, patience, and gentleness. They understood that Kiki was not just a pet to us; she was family. She had been part of our lives for 15 years, and saying goodbye to her was like losing a piece of our hearts. Kiki had held on as long as she could for us. She was sick and aging just wasnt kind to her. It was hard to let her go but we had to set her free from pain. Now we live with it each day. But, During such an emotional and painful time, their compassion made a difference that I will never forget. They made an incredibly difficult experience feel a little more peaceful, and I will always be grateful for the care and respect they showed Kiki and our family. Thank you for being so kind to us when our hearts were breaking.

A woman almost lost her kitty in another, took them to court and a judge ruled the vet was not fit for practice suspended license for a year. Read the reviews. Almost a quarter of them are the same thing. Sirena's life was taken because they failed to run appropriate tests including xray to determine and diagnose. They lead to her getting worse not better and then administered incorrect dosage for sedation and pain management leading to death. They failed to properly supervise her under anesthesia. They failed to inform me of any risks, alternatives, or the prognosis of the treatment. They lied on the report several times falsifying what happened so they could be unaccountable. This place did not care about the consequences of taking a life nor what it does to a family after the fact. Sirena was a victim and this will happen again unless you don't give them the chance. My Sirena was with me everyday for 4 years and trusted me to take care of her and I let her down going to this place. She deserved better! It breaks my heart reliving being at Gilbert Queen Creek emergency veterinarian and specialist center. I know Sirena would be alive today if I had gone elsewhere. Crystal the hospital director called 5/1/26 offering 300$ "on the books" saying they could have done better. I will never go back to Gilbert queen creek emergency veterinarian. I was shocked she would even insinuate that I would. The grief of losing Sirena and having conversations with these people mentally and physically takes a toll on me. If Sirena was given critical care, the right care from the right specialist, she would be alive today.

When we arrived at the clinic around 2:30 AM we were greeted by a very kind woman. She informed us that the vet on duty was about to go back for a procedure, but she would see if the vet could do a quick exam. She tenderly picked up my pup and brought him back. Shortly after the vet returned and I knew it was bad news. The vet was kind and gentle with us. The staff took care of my boy while I went home to get my kids so they could say good bye to the dog they had grown up with. They allowed us privacy and time to say goodbye, there was no rush. This was easily one of the most devastating experiences of my life. However, every single person we encountered treated us with kindness and empathy. I will forever be grateful for the staff at VCA. He ended up being diagnosed with puppy strangles :( the team here was so kind!!! I got seen immediately and then they took him back for examination. They were very thorough, even finding an issue with his testicles (not related to our visit but very appreciated!). The doctor took her time to answer all my questions in detail. They even called us a couple days later to ask how he's doing and offered to send records to his primary care we will see. Overall, great experience for a bad situation and will keep it in my recommendations for any future needs!! It costs $190 for the exam and our medications were $60. Not bad at all for what I was expecting

We initially called them when we were headed their way, to get their thoughts, and did appreciate them giving us some insight on the phone. We opted to stop in to be on the safe side. It was a bit quieter this time around, so we were able to get in a room right away and seen relatively quickly. It was a very much a "Got to rule out the options" type situation that required a bit more guesswork. Based on the initial intake, they recommended a blood panel, a SNAP panel (bloodwork specifically for ticks), X-rays and possible CT. We decided to start with the bloodwork, to minimize putting our dog through more procedures than necessary. They also have a relatively quick turn around time of 20-30 minutes for the results, making it easy to proceed if necessary. The tech we spoke with was nice, but a little brisk and not super helpful which inquiring on the next steps/options. She did mention a CT may be required and was helpful in getting prices and options for same day if needed. We did get the blood work results back, about an hour later, and Dr. Robinson came to speak with us, with a good news, bad news sitch. He had gotten an infection from a tick and his body was having trouble clotting and fighting it off, hence the nosebleed. She did a great job explaining and laying out all the details. Luckily, it was in the treatable phase and she ran through the prescriptions and care that would be required and let us know they would bring back the medication and Roni shortly. About an hour plus later...they bring him back, His nose had not stopped bleeding the entire time! Not their fault, it was uncontrollable, and they attempted, but was just not really treatable. We ended up spending about 4 1/2 hours there, most of that time which was not with our dog. All the initial exams and what not I understand, but getting the results and talking to the doctor, and still waiting another hour after the fact, seemed longer than necessary and we just felt bad for our pup, because we would have rather been with our dog waiting, then him in the back while waiting alone. A few other key details: It's $190 regardless for your pet to be examined, which you need to pay up front. Any other services, you pay for if you decide to proceed. They have two entrances, one for cats and one for dogs. it leads to the same space, but has separate sides to the same counter which is nice. The Dr recommended Nexgard (Tick treatment), which they do not have onsite, we had inquired if we could order from Chewy digitally, they said yes, but turns out they cannot. They do send home a paper prescription, but something to keep in mind or double check on. Overall, very grateful they figured out what was wrong and took care of him. The space was clean and staff was overall friendly. Their prices seem reasonable as well. A bit more communication would have been appreciated, especially regarding time, or at least updates so we knew he was okay and maybe a bit more guidance on what treatments make the most sense. They do a great job and though I hope you never need to go to the emergency vet, they are a great 24 hour accessible options.

We authorized the evaluation but not CPR. A little while later the vet came to let us know what the evaluation showed and she was so thorough and kind, explained the possible causes of seizures and potential treatment plans. They kept our pup overnight to monitor for more seizures, give her IV fluids, etc. We brought her home today. I have a medical background and I found the care was excellent, appropriate and the communication was great. I received 3 calls from the various vets on duty and each time they were informative and kind. My regular vet had already been notified within about 12 hours of admission and they called to check on us. The only hesitation of have is the cost of services. It seems very expensive. Medication that they provided when we took the pup home cost $62.38 for 30 pills. The price for 120 tabs from Chewy is $25.08. I understand the cost of intensive/ER services is exorbitant in general but $2000 for a 24 hour visit is something that many people can not afford.

What an A+ urgent vet care experience…read more I found the spot through reading reviews here on Yelp. Unfortunately, my late, sweet angel of a Bichon Frise has recently passed, however it was extremely helpful to have brought her here to this facility to understand more in depth the severity of her medical issue. Not only is the staff here so friendly and empathetic, they are also punctual, efficient and very honest. My dog sitter ended up taking my dog here one night while we were out of town to deal with her chronic vomiting. The vet caring for her that evening spoke with me directly over the phone to go over treatment options. I thoroughly appreciated her honesty. I ended up having to take my dog back here one night a few weeks later due to the vomiting starting up again and her primary vet also suggested what she's going through needs to be handled at an actual animal hospital. This second visit was just as efficient and also they were kind enough to waive certain fees due to us returning back to them in such a short amount of time. I also like the fact that we're able to use payment plan options via Affirm. That was extremely helpful for me during this previous emotionally tumultuous season. Overall, great urgent animal care location. I highly recommend them.

I am absolutely disgusted and heartbroken by what I recently learned about this veterinary…read moreemergency hospital. A cat I personally raised and placed with a friend was brought to this facility THREE separate times for urinary blockages. Each time, his owner paid to have him unblocked, only for the same life-threatening condition to return. After three emergency visits, she was ultimately advised to euthanize him because he was suffering. He is now gone. What makes this situation particularly devastating is that his father suffered from the same condition. He underwent a perineal urethrostomy (PU) surgery and survived. For anyone unfamiliar, PU surgery is an established surgical option for certain cats experiencing recurrent urinary obstructions. It is not appropriate for every case, but it is absolutely something that deserves consideration when a cat repeatedly becomes blocked. I personally called this emergency hospital and confirmed that they do not perform PU surgery. My question is simple: If your facility cannot perform a potentially life-saving procedure, WHY ARE YOU NOT DIRECTING OWNERS TO A FACILITY THAT CAN? Why was this cat repeatedly treated for the immediate emergency without, to my knowledge, his owner being educated about this surgical option or referred elsewhere for an evaluation? His owner trusted the veterinary professionals caring for him. She returned three times, paid for treatment three times, and ultimately lost her cat. I understand that urinary obstructions are serious, that surgery is not guaranteed to succeed, and that not every patient is a candidate. But pet owners deserve to be informed of reasonable treatment options, especially before making the irreversible decision to euthanize. This is not simply about money. It is about informed consent, communication, and giving families the opportunity to explore every medically appropriate option. He deserved that consideration. His owner deserved that information. I sincerely hope this hospital reevaluates how it handles recurrent urinary obstruction cases, particularly when definitive surgical treatment is not available at its own facility. An emergency veterinary hospital should be more than a place that repeatedly treats the same crisis. It should also help families understand their options and know when to seek specialized care. He will never get that opportunity again.

VEG saved my dog's life!!!…read more My dog, Emma, was getting very sick very fast, when my vet recommended taking her to a hospital for 24 hour fluids and monitoring of her kidneys. I took her to VEG, and the experience here was nothing short of exceptional. To start, checking in was like going to a real hospital. When we walked in, she was immediately triaged by the vet and techs. They talked me through their process, recommendations and provided pricing for total transparency. All of this took place on the open floor, so I could stay with my dog through it all which was comforting. They also let me know that we were welcome to stay as long as we wanted and even stay the night, which was an incredible offer. My dog ended up needing to stay for 4 days, which was scary and stressful, but we felt so much more comfortable leaving her there because we knew she was getting the best care. Everyday we received progress update calls from the vet. We also got to stay and sit with Emma for as long as we wanted each day, where we got to witness how much everyone truly cares for all their pet patients. Honestly, the amount of love shown to every person and pet was moving. When Emma finally turned the corner to safely bring her home, the staff literally rolled out a red carpet so everyone could clap and say goodbye. It still brings a tear to my eye that they did that for her. I am so grateful to everyone at VEG for taking amazing care of my baby, but an extra special shoutout has to go to Emma's nurse Mary. She was so kind, open, gentle and loving with Emma. The love Mary showed us all will never be forgotten. Thank you VEG for making the hospital process so transparent, for everyone's hard work, and for making our baby healthy again

Absolutely horrible customer service and communication…read more I brought my dog in and was told the wait would be approximately 1-2 hours. I understand completely that this is an emergency facility and that critically ill animals have to be seen first. That is NOT what I am upset about. I sat there for 2 1/2 hours without anyone coming in to give me an update. Finally, I left the room myself and asked how much longer it was going to be. Only then did someone come back and tell me that several critical cases had come in and it would now be ANOTHER FIVE HOURS. So basically, had I not gotten up and asked, I could have continued sitting there for who knows how long with absolutely no communication. I had already rearranged my entire day based on the original 1-2 hour estimate, and I am traveling tomorrow. If someone had simply come in when the situation changed and said, "We've had several emergencies come in and unfortunately your wait is now going to be several more hours," I could have made other arrangements much earlier. Instead, no one bothered to tell me. To make matters worse, they suggested another veterinary clinic where I could take my dog. I called that clinic, only to find out they didn't even have a veterinarian there yet. So after wasting 2 1/2 hours at Thrive, I then had to find a THIRD facility myself where my dog could actually be seen. I completely understand prioritizing critically ill animals. What I do not understand is leaving a client sitting in a room for hours without communicating that the wait has changed dramatically, and then directing them somewhere that isn't even in a position to see their pet. A five-minute conversation could have prevented this entire situation. Emergencies are unavoidable. Terrible communication and customer service are not. I will not return.
