I have used this service several times, so I really know this company. They say that they have a special deal with the University of Notre Dame. Doubtful. I know enough about this company to know that you need everything in writing. Even then, the results may not be good, as you see. I had exchanged an email with Shane, the owner, confirming the date and time for pick up on Thanksgiving weekend. "Yes, Mr. L, you are confirmed".....Long story short.....My son was left at O'hare with no car to pick him up. Called Shane, the owner, who proceeded to tell me that I messed up. I have a very clear email with details and his confirmation. Shane's response: "well, we are clearly not going to charge you". Just what I wanted....At $285 per trip, you would think he would care a bit more. No "jeez I am sorry that your son is stuck". This is the service that they give to a good customer. I will NEVER USE AMBIENCE again. And now I've found that Uber is 30% less! read more

We booked Ambiance Limo for a girls wine tasting in the New Buffalo area as well as a ride back the the Chicago area. They were super flexible and accomodating with a fair price. The ride back to Chicago arrived on time and the driver was professional and vehicle was a nice suburban. Shane was super knowledgable about the New Buffalo area and vineyards and even offered recommendations on where to go. I would use them again for another trip in the New Buffalo area! read more

DO NOT USE THIS LIMO SERVICE!!!!! They did NOT show up to my wedding as contracted to do so. They gave us the drivers number, but it was not in service. Left multiple voicemails the following two weeks, never returned a phone call. Finally got a hold of them, the owner shane apologized and promised to make it right. He failed to even get in touch after another two weeks. Have left numerous voicemails and have yet to get a return call. They didn't even offer to refund our money. We hired Ambience for our daughter's wedding in August. We were looking for a traditional sedan-type limousine that would be comfortable enough for the mothers of the bride and groom and elegant enough for the bride. The vehicle that showed up was a Hummer-like prom-style party wagon! The driver was not properly attired, but worst of all, there was no step stool available for us to help enter the vehicle, Bear in mind that the limo was for a formal wedding and we were all wearing high heels and long evening gowns and it was very difficult to lean forward and in to that monstrosity of a party wagon! Thank God that none of us fell trying to get in or out of that thing! We had difficulty reaching the office to inquire as to why we didn't receive the sedan as ordered and as promised. When we finally reached someone in the office to discuss what we thought was just an inconvenient mix-up, we were informed that no, it was not a mix-up at all, but that we had received a "complimentary upgrade" to the party wagon! Yes, that's right! Middle-age mothers of the happy couple were treated to a garish upgrade to challenge the dexterity of their hip joints! The gal in the office said that she would check with the driver to find out why there was no step stool available for us to use and that 'someone' would call us back. It's been almost 4 months now, and as you likely guessed, no call back from anyone, despite other attempts to contact them. read more

Apparently if you leave something on the limo, they want to charge you for all their time to return it. My 9 year old daughter won a trip for pizza at school. This was the company that was hired to take them. She left her new hat on the limo. She was going to pay to have it returned out of her pocket but Shane rattled on and on and talked over me about the amount of time and manpower they had in to this hat. It was going to cost me a lot to have it returned. I said someone was going to be there in South Bend and could they pick it up for us? Shane said they can call him (because he's such a nice guy I really wanted friends to talk to him, too) and he would see where someone was and if they could help us. Rude. Talked over me. I was searching for a reliable limo service for my son and future daughter in law for the transfer to their hotel after the wedding reception. Ambience Limo was suggested so I gave them a call. I spoke to Shane who had already spoken to my daughter in law previously a day or so before so he seemed pleasant and familiar with what type of service I was wanting. However, he explained that he was at Notre Dame on a job and his staff was at lunch at the time, so he wasn't able to take down info so he asked me to email him at his personal email. He spelled everything out, which I wrote down and he said Carrie in his office would be contacting me that afternoon. So I emailed the itinerary info to the email address and waited. I waited a day. Then another day. No calls no email response by day 5. I called again and got voice mail....left a message. Six hours later I got a return call from Shane. I asked if he had received my email...he said No, he hadn't. Hmmm, I rechecked email address and sent again... (The email he gave me was ambienceontime@aol.com) I asked when should I expect a call from Carrie in the office? His response was " Well, not before Thursday with Obama coming into town...we're swamped". At this point I was puzzled to say the very least. Did he want my business or not? I waited another 4 days. Zero. Nothing. Zilch. So I emailed my inquiry on their website only to hear nothing again. So I did what any normal person looking to book a limo service for her son's upcoming August wedding.... I called Royal Excursion and was immediately contacted, given a quote with an emailed contract the very next day. Now that my friends is who I recommend, not this lazy and unprofessional outfit. The beautiful limo didn't really make up for the lame driver and the extra charges. We used Ambience to pick us up from our wedding reception in Mishawaka to drive us to Chicago. He was on time, but when we asked if we could stop at our house (which is on the way) to change out of my dress and my husband's tuxedo, he was less than gracious. He drove out of the way and told us he couldn't stop unless his boss told us it was okay. He continued to drive around until he was able to get in touch with his boss, (our house is five minutes away from the venue), and then finally when his boss said it was okay, he dropped us off, and let us know that it would be another 50$ for the five minute stop. Ambience Limousine really is as good as it gets! My husband and I were picked up in South Bend and taken to Chicago O'Hare and it was by far the best experience we could have had!! We received a complimentary upgrade, had a wonderful driver who was courteous and polite, and the limo was gorgeous. I would definitely recommend Ambience Limousine! I called on a Tuesday to book a last minute girls night out for Wednesday. Shane offered me a great deal! Before I booked the trip, I read the other two reviews here and was a little turned off but kept them in mind. I tried calling and emailing Tuesday night to confirm, and didn't receive contact. I called the next morning and booked our limo bus for 14. Josh arrived on time. The limo bus was so great! It had open circular seating rather than standard bus seats! Our group of 14 was able to sit facing each other allowing us all to talk! They had a cooler and glasses in the bus, as well as complimentary non alcoholic drinks. It was awesome. There was also an aux cord inside for us to play our own music! Josh was great! Best driver ever. If you are looking for a great open format inside a limo for a big group, go with Ambience. Their service was professional and everyone in our group was incredibly impressed! Thank you Shane and Josh. We could have just driven around town in the limo all night long! read more

Do Not Use! Ambience limo was a no-call, no-show to pick up a wedding party Saturday, 10/15/16. They issued a professional looking contract, charged my credit card months in advance, and confirmed Monday, 10/10/16 that they would be there. Since they didn't show up, they have not returned calls, emails, or refunded my money! I called my credit card company and they refunded my money. read more
