We have used Royal Excursion numerous times for a variety of events, but the most recent was our October 2012 wedding. We had a shuttle bus to transport the wedding party and guests to and from our reception. Our driver Chris was exceptional and everything went according to plan. We unknowingly left a few things on the bus, but after one phone call a few days later, we were able to track everything down and pick up the missing items at their office. I can understand the other reviews when they said they couldn't reach a human. One of their drivers hit my car and left the scene. I've been trying to work with them to get this taken care of and they just ignore me. They have been most unprofessional. They are the bus service Culver Academies uses to get the kids to and from the airports. We may have to rethink using them. read more

I have used royal excursion four times for my annual brewery pub crawl and have been impressed every time. -trip is hundreds of miles and takes 12 hours, but it is still only 25$ per person. -bus and bathroom are always super clean. -drivers have always been professional and friendly. On a bus trip to Brookfield Zoo. It's 85 degrees and no A/C. Why wasn't this checked before this bus went out? Driver checking his phone, reaching for snacks, driving down I-94 with the left turn signal on. Total unprofessional. Sitting in a seat with a broken seat back. It's always reclined. I don't like that and made it uncomfortable for the person behind me. The ride back was a lot better than going. The air got fixed and attention to driving was better. read more

Left 11 if us stranded at O'Hare with no way to reach a human. Getting off a 9 hour flight back to the states and having no way home reflects very poor level of customer concern. Phone calls went to voicemail and we had to rent a car to get to South Bend. At the beginning of our trip they were supposed to take our group to O'Hare and they arrived at least 20 minutes late again no way to reach a live human. Find another way to travel. read more

Over the years, I have been on more Royal Excursion trips than I can count. But, after our trip last night I wanted to update my review. I rented a limo bus to take a group of us to a Cubs rooftop night game. Our driver, Gary, was possibly the best I've ever had! I've never had a driver that wasn't great from RE, but Gary took it to the next level. He was super flexible and accommodated all of our special requests. He came prepared with baseball trivia questions and even brought prizes! He was able to park fairly close to a pathway along Seminary St that literally led us straight to the left field side of Wrigley (which is where our rooftop was). When the game was rained out, he was able to negotiate crazy traffic and pick us up significantly closer so we didn't have to walk in the rain. He even gave a passenger something to cover up with because she was cold on the way home. I always have great service when using Royal Excursion, but last night was a blast even though we left early. I hired Royal Excursion for my wedding shuttle in St. Joseph and it was one of the best choices I made! Working with Tim in the office was easy and productive. He was always quick to respond and willing to answer any questions I had. He made me feel very comfortable with the plan for the day. We had Shawn as the driver and he was AMAZING! He was on time and so friendly. He made sure to stick to the time line and problem solve along the way. One star is too much. The company left a group of more than 3 dozen high school students and chaperones stranded at O'Hare Airport late on a Saturday night because...THEY FORGOT they were supposed to send a bus! After a 10 hr flight, the group waited more than 2 hrs for a bus to arrive from Mishawaka. Then, they had a 3+ hour trip home. Very unprofessional of Royal Excursion. I recommend Imperial Travel, Lafayette, Indiana. Never again for Royal Excursion. read more

Our group of four came to South Bend in October for the Garth Brooks concert at Notre Dame. At the last minute I decided to hire a car rather than figure out where to park. Tim Vargo at Royal Excursion far exceeded any customer's reasonable expectations for customer service, going above and beyond the call of duty. He handled every detail and we worried about absolutely nothing. He picked us up at our hotel when he said he would, dropped us off at our restaurant near the stadium and was there to greet us after the show for our return trip home. He was completely professional and, again, truly went above and beyond to accommodate our needs on short notice. read more

I wish I could give them more than 5 stars. We went to a wedding and they transported us from our hotel and an after party. I had brought my sunglasses to the wedding. End of night, we were dropped off safe and sound at our hotel. But the next morning to my dismay, the expensive sunglasses were nowhere to be found. I knew that I had left them on the bus. I was feeling pretty defeated about ever seeing them again. But I was able to track the driver, Sandy, who was so nice , helpful and suggested I call the bus company. I spoke to this kind man name Justin. He went on the bus and found them!! He even shipped them back priority mail. They are a true testament to providing top notch service and caring about their customers. Royal Excursion, went above and beyond. I recommend them. Being that I am a manager for an upscale hotel, I know customer service quite well. Our bus broke down, which can happen; however, it should not take the company over 4 hours to get a replacement bus to our location. We had 50 people stranded for 4 hours with no answers. No one ever explained what happened or why there was a lack of urgency to get us all home in a timely fashion. Not to mention everytime we questioned how much longer it would be, the same response was issued "25 minutes". Good money is paid to NOT concern yourself during a "leisure" trip and unfortunately Royal Excursion did not deliver. I will not be recommending Royal Excursion to my customers nor to anyone for that matter. Customer service is of paramount importance especially when you are in the travel industry. I do hope this review will serve it's purpose and save you from a bad experience. Find another company! read more

Reckless Driver!!! I was almost hit by one of their drivers today, and I was forced to be on a shoulder while driving on an interstate because the driver cut me in aggressively. The driver and I had a clear eye contact, so the driver was very aware that s/he was pushing my car out to the shoulder and the driver kept cutting in without slowing down. I could not see if the coach was carrying any passengers at that time, but even if there were no customers, it does not change the fact that the driver was reckless, aggressive, and did not care about other drivers' safety or his/her company's property. I am sure (or hope) they have very responsible and safe drivers as well, but I hope they will enforce safe driving to ALL of their drivers. (For Royal Excursion, the driver was driving Luxury minicoach (I think) #240 in the late afternoon of 4/22 - Please re-train this driver before anyone gets hurt/killed.) read more
