The pours were also inconsistent. The first two courses and wine pairings were exceptional and delicious. As was our appetizer and bottle of wine. When it came to the last course, the dessert. It really left a bad taste in our mouths. The crème brûlée looked like scrambled eggs. It was runny and lumpy. It looked more like cottage cheese than a custard. Like the sweet wine, we all left it untouched. We explained our grievances to the server and she said that she would not tell the chef because he was "sensitive" and she was too afraid of him. As a former server myself, I couldn't help but be upset. When it comes to customer service, your job is to have your guests leave happy and wanting to come back. Now, I normally don't even like Brussels sprouts. The other two people in our party were loving them, so I finally gave in and took a bite. Yeah, pretty freaking delicious. For the spreads, we chose baba ghanoush, tzatziki, and cacik. The tandoori bread was warm, incredibly soft and tender, perfect for tearing apart and dragging through the dips. Masha was very friendly, polite, and efficient. The dining room was decorated with artificial hanging plants. Also, there was a large mural of Eve holding the apple with the serpent coaxing her to eat it. Now for the not-so-good things --- getting to the entrance wasn't easy, especially for my husband, who is waiting to get his knee replaced. To reach the entrance, you had to walk down a paved path with descending steps after parking the car. Upon entry, we had to climb a somewhat long staircase. On the way out, Masha stated that there was a ramp and pointed to a door leading to the kitchen and said we could go out that way. We chose to exit the way we entered. Also, they don't have any printed menus -- just a QR code to scan for the menu. We found that to be off-putting. Fortunately, we had already decided what to order before coming here. We chose to start with "Zaytoun", which consists of "Mixed Pitted Olives Tossed In Extra Virgin Oil. GF". This was a tasty starter. There were a few different types of pitted olives. However, we didn't think that there was any olive oil in the small bowl; rather, it appeared to be brine. For our main course, we both chose "Beef Kofta" which consists of: "Beef rolls served with Lebanese Couscous, Refreshing Tomatoes, Cucumber, & Labneh". The beef kofta was very dry. Growing up, I sometimes had Kofta, and it often turned out quite dry. The kofta did have some kick, and the small amount of very tasty labneh helped mute the spiciness. The Lebanese couscous portion was huge. That, too, helped give moisture to the kofta. This was a filling meal, and we ended up taking some home. Weighing the pros and cons, the cons, alas, outweighed the pros for us.

For example, we couldn't taste the oysters at all because they were filled with some kind of cream with a rhubarb sauce on top. A complete abuse of an oyster in my opinion. Oysters are a delicate flavor and the point of them is to taste (or enhance) their unique brine, not bury them in a sweet sauce over cream. The giant pork chop was overcooked. The fries were so overcooked you could barely bite into them (and insanely salty). It is also incredibly overpriced. I rarely comment on price (we eat at Michelin restaurants a few times a year), but this place is ridiculous. Basically Clyde's style of food for 3x the price (and Clyde's is better). The staff was nice, but they seriously need to drop some of the pretense. Like I don't need my table swept for crumbs several times throughout a meal when you don't even bother to provide a beverage napkin to mitigate condensation (on a bare wood table, no tablecloths). The servers won't even take dishes off the table. They find their little crumb sweeper minions to do that for them. I've eaten at fine dining all over the world. This place is just trying too hard to be something it's not. Oh, and you also get the perk of paying $15 to park in the lot behind the hotel. Because apparently spending $500 on dinner doesn't include parking. Ridiculous. AVOID. They need to figure something else out. Loudouners may have money, but we also have taste and don't like being swindled.
