Great location right off the highway. Pulled into St.G around 11pm and couldn't find camping anywhere so we ended up here with our 2 dogs. Lady said it would be $75/night. Then later said there's a $25 fee for dogs. Ok so $100? Right. Well why don't you just say that from the start?! Anyway we got two queen beds and it was nice and clean. Comfy beds, easy access to the fenced in dog poop area. Breakfast was ok - options included biscuit and gravy, French toast, eggs, sausage, bagels, yogurt, and coffee. It was sub-par food just ok. I made a yelp account just to leave a review for this amazing hotel. I originally made a reservation for a hotel around the corner from here weeks in advance just to show up and have them tell me I can't stay because I was too "young" and that no one around would take 18 year olds. I then called around and found the Ambassador inn and thank god I did. They made my trip amazing and they had the best staff and they made sure we had everything we needed. We got the deluxe king room for $405 for 4 nights and it was well worth the money! The pool was heated and the hot tub was perfect, they provided new towels from the front desk every time we went to swim and they also provide free breakfast which had a nice variety of foods and drinks. One morning we went to eat when it was almost over so there wasn't much left but a worker asked if we would like anything else and she got us some more French toast since they were out as well as anything else we wanted. Our room was extremely clean and the house keeping was exceptional, they also leave sample size Bath and Body works shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, and bars of soap every time they clean. I will be returning to this hotel every time I go to St George. (They also gave me a stamp card to earn a free nights stay!) read more

Great pet friendly hotel! We were looking for a pet friendly place to stay on our drive back to California from Colorado and we are so happy we found the Ambassador Inn. Very reasonable pricing, clean room and grounds, friendly staff, safe, and comfortable-ish beds. What more could you ask for for $80 a night (including the dogs)? My room was spotless and the bathroom looked like I had spent at least twice as much on the room. The breakfast was pretty standard for being "free" (what looked like microwaved eggs, sausage, French toast, plus fruit, bagels, cereal, milk, coffee, etc). I skipped it and went to a local eatery instead, but it would definitely do in a rush. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because of my stay. I checked in at around midnight and was met by a guy and a girl (seemed to be training). My room was right above the lobby on the second floor and I had to listen to the front desk guy recount his extensive retail experience to his coworker. His voice echoed through the hall late into the morning. Pro-tip: call ahead and ask for prices. I was able to get almost 25% off the web site price by booking over the phone. read more

I absolutely agree with the previous reviews. Great hotel for a good price. This was one of the only hotels with rooms available during Memorial Day weekend and I felt very lucky to stay here. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Pool was great temperature. Only suggestion is that they should open the pool earlier than 10 am for the earlybirds who like a morning swim. I stayed here a week ago. The room was nice, bed comfortable and breakfast offered a variety including scrambled eggs, French toast, and cereals. Coffee was very good. In my haste to get on the road, I left my purse behind. Luckily I realized what I'd done within 30 minutes of leaving and called the hotel. Ryan took my call and found my purse where I'd left it. He had it waiting at registration when I returned a half an hour later. I highly recommend this place and commend them for their employee's integrity. I'm appreciative to say the least. read more

This was the choice hotel for my monthly business trip to Utah. I was sketchy at first because I've never heard of or seen this hotel before. Pulled in and it looked like the parking was limited. There was more parking in the back, so no issues there. There are two gas stations nearby, a chevron and a texacon. The hotel's a lot bigger than I expected. I got in almost around 1 am and was greeted by the front desk lady. She was very polite! Got in my room, and the room was, for a lack of better word, cute. I had a two bed room and it was nice and neat. There was a microwave, refrigerator, and a small dining table. Came in quite handy since I was coming out of town and had some snacks on me. The window was pretty small. Had a view of the building next door but that didn't bother me much. I liked that there was a pillar between the toilet and the sink. Shower curtains were awesome! It had a liner, unlike the other "nicer" hotels I've been to here in Utah. Good shower pressure, but had a weak toilet flush pressure. They had some bath and body works lotions, shampoos and hand soap bars so that was awesome. The towels were a bit rough on the skin, but did the job nonetheless. Complimentary breakfast included biscuits and gravy, eggs, sausages, pancakes, bagels, etc. It was more than enough and was delicious. Super value, clean, and new fixtures and tile - recently remodeled? No funny smells, great bedding, and hot breakfast! Quiet as well. We were so glad to find this gem- oh, and a pool and hot tub! We're just two old people from Brigham City Utah. We came in at around 2 in the morning on the freeway No Reservations had no idea where anything was. If it wasn't for Rick at the front desk we would have been totally lost. We called your hotel spoke with Rick and he stayed on the phone with us gave us directions and got us straight to your hotel. Mind you we made lots of Wrong Turns but all in all we found it due to the good guy behind the desk named Rick. The bottom line: This is a simple motel but goes beyond the basics with several nice touches and super-friendly staff. If you want more details: I decided to book a two-night stay at the Ambassador Inn in St. George after reading several great reviews on TripAdvisor.com. My husband and I weren't disappointed. I know a 4-star review might seem more in line with a posh resort or a 5-star hotel, but for the money you'll pay, this little place merits a great review. (I'd give it 5 if it were in a better location or offered views of the gorgeous scenery surrounding St. George.) A breakfast buffet is included and offers a good selection: scrambled eggs, grits (at least I think that's what they were--not my thing!), french toast, bread, rolls, biscuits, mini muffins, pastries, doughnuts (I thought the last two looked pretty mediocre, though), Yoplait yogurt, instant oatmeal, a selection of cold cereals, and a basket of fruit. Beverages are a selection of teas (Tazo herbals as well as Earl Gray, etc.), good coffee, and fruit juices. The buffet hours are 6:00 am to 10:00 am--it's nice not to have to rush if you want to sleep in a little. The complimentary toiletries (shampoo, conditioner and body lotion) are the Bath and Body Works brand in a nice lime/coconut scent. If you are not accustomed to the southern Utah summer climate (we visited in July), you will appreciate having decent conditioner and lotion on hand! I had to keep rubbing conditioner into my (dry) hair WITHOUT rinsing it out. There are a microwave and small fridge in-room; these really came in handy when we had plenty of leftovers one night from a local restaurant and didn't want to waste them. They offer additional towels at the front desk for the pool. The pool is tiny, but it was also very clean and wonderfully warmed by the desert sun. (There's a jacuzzi as well, which also was clean.) Plus, one benefit to its small size is that I now can finally brag about swimming 20 "laps." There are free copies of USA Today and the local daily paper--which I thought was surprisingly decent and gave some nice insights into local life--available in the lobby (though for some reason on the day we checked out there was only the previous day's USA Today available--maybe they get a late delivery). There are also the usual basics any decent motel should have, like a hair dryer, iron and ironing board, basic cable, etc. Finally, all of the staff were extremely friendly and helpful--even Arlene, the lady who sets up the breakfast buffet. They aren't fake friendly but rather genuinely friendly and courteous in a low-key way. Amy, who managed the front desk in the evenings, even printed our boarding passes free of charge the night before we left. The only small flaw I noticed was that our bathroom sink had hot running water (which initially ran very cold for several seconds), but the cold tap had only warm water. Maybe that's just as cold as you're going to get water in Utah in the summer, though. The only reason I would not return here is that St. George is not as close to Zion or Bryce National Parks as some other towns such as Springdale, etc. We hadn't realized that when we planned our trip; we stayed in St. George based on my dad's recommendation. However, if I ever have a reason to return to St. George, I'll stay at the Ambassador Inn in a heartbeat. It's well worth checking out if you plan to stay in the area. read more

A "budget" price for a surprising value- the place is clean, the staff is super friendly, they have a clean pool and jacuzzi, free wifi, spacious rooms, and even little sample-sized Bath & Body items for the shower! If you have a AAA membership they will honor a discount, which makes this a ridiculously good deal. I was going to stay at the Motel Chalet nearby because they also have good reviews, but the price they quoted me was double what other Yelp users had mentioned.. We stopped here at the last minute last night based upon reviews on Yelp and Trip Advisor. The reviews were right on. The price was half of what we've been paying, the room was spacious and clean, staff unfailingly polite, shower was strong and hot, and the free breakfast was an added bonus. I'd skip the rubber eggs but there's also juice, coffee, milk, cereal choices, yogurt, sausage, French toast, pastries, toast etc. You won't find a better value. This will be our go-to from now on on our trips through Utah. Someone recommended second floor for quiet, and it was, so I'd second that. This is not a luxury hotel but it has everything you need for a pleasant stay. There's also an inexpensive yet yummy Asian restaurant called Ahi in the shopping center next store similar to Pei Wei where we had dinner. To begin where my hotel experience always does, The Ambassador is extremely clean. I'm pretty damn germophobic when it comes to hotels, and my first order of business (regardless of the time I roll into a place to crash) is to go through the hotel room searching for hairs, weird residues, or anything else that might set off my irrational hotel paranoia. I usually settle for a room in which there are no pubic hairs and in which I do not feel the likelihood is very high that I will contract a venereal disease from the sheets or bathroom fixtures. The Ambassador Inn met and exceeded these expectations by providing a spotless (and I seriously mean SPOTLESS) room for around $60. Not only that, my girlfriend and I were staying with our cat in a pet friendly room, which just added to the mystique of the room's cleanliness. Simply put, if you're a germophobe looking for a hotel on a trip through St. George and surrounding areas, stop reading and make a reservation at The Ambassador Inn. While close to the subject of pets, it costs $19 to have a pet stay in your room, and it is well worth the money. Our cat would've had a perfect experience there had she not been skiddish enough to be spooked by the sound of housekeeping and other occupants moving around the hotel the next day. The continental breakfast was fantastic and included Midwestern amenities like french toast and biscuits with sausage gravy. Definitely worth getting up before 10 to check out! Affordable and pet friendly, the Ambassador Inn provided the best experience of all the hotels my girlfriend, cat, and I stayed at on our recent cross-country move, and it did have some serious competition. The staff is the friendliest I've come across (including more expensive places), and they really seem interested in providing you with a great experience. Found this hotel after calling several in a 40 mile radius at 3am. Fortunately they had a room; I was highly satisfied. SUPER clean room, spartan but very comfortable bed and bath. I give this hotel 5 stars for cleanliness. I was a bit turned off by the 1990 lobby - tile floors and forest green carpet. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Although the rooms still boast green carpet and laminate furniture, the linens are new and clean. The pool was small but sparkling clean. The price was great for a resort town. read more
