Not sure what's wrong with this place.Absolutely horrible all around. extremely expensive compared to the original amazon fresh delivery/pickup out of west sacramento which was amazing but unfortunately being replaced by inferior mortar stores like thIs. Anything that's a prime exclusive is sold out. Employees largely not helpful and standing around not doing what they're supposed to be doing. deli has been vacant every time i went. Hot bar/salad bar is a bacteria nightmare with no sneezeguards or the like. The high tech dash carts a more of a hassle to deal with than self checkkout even for the biggest techie. Amazon had years to get this store right and it's been a joke. Amazon please get out of elk grove and go back to west sac and work on your warehouse. This place is a disaster. read more

One of the worst changes to the website/app for Fresh was when they changed free delivery from a minimum purchase of $25 to $100. Decided to check out the grocery store to see how it is. It's like a Walmart grocery market but instead of low prices, anything that isn't on sale is expensive. It does have a good selection of options if you are looking for something quick to eat for lunch, but I think I'll stick with other grocery stores. read more

Overall maintenance of services for the Hot Bar. Services are so negligible, some days you don't get the item of your choice because somebody called in sick. Happened to me twice. I'm wondering isn't there a backup for this person? I tried to voice my disappointment once, and the answer i got, "Things happened." If all businesses are run like this where even customer service tries to justify incompetence, the businesses will run to the ground eventually. And to think they're trying to rival nine other supermarkets already established in the area. They've got to do better. Yes, I'm happy that Amazon Fresh decided to open a hot bar, but don't make it a hit and miss option. Make it a consistent service, open and closed at the same time. And if there's a certain discount after a certain time, make sure all the cashiers are informed, because sometimes it feels like the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. We were just there tonight and told that a few items missing from the hot bar was because someone called in. Makes me feel that management is not serious about serving their clientele. If not for the hot bar, we have no reason to shop here. We can get items such as gluten-free bread, nut-derivative creamers, etc. from nearby Sprouts. Amazon Fresh need to improve their hot bar services to keep their customer loyalty. read more

Holy guacamole, Batman! This is the supermarket of the future will actually it's the supermarket of now from the super super amazing shopping cart to the digital signage to the Alexa's in the aisles that can help you get guided to what you need I mean, there are just so many things about this place that I absolutely adore. This might become one of my favorite new locations to get groceries. The only thing I wasn't really too sure about is the fact that it seemed like to get some discounts you had to have an Amazon prime membership. I really hope they fix that in the future and make it a membership Like Safeway or Raleys where you can get a club card for discounts. I know Amazon wants people to be prime members, but they shouldn't do it this way other than that oh my gosh they have all the good stuff. I cannot wait to go back and take more photos and videos. I was a little bit too thrown by all the cool stuff I was kind of an awe honestly, this is what every supermarket needs to be like. I really really felt like I was shopping in the future. read more

Amazon Fresh - Grocery Near Me - Elk Grove, California

Mixed review here. First the good. I came on opening day. Got a bargain on 12 pack Coke Zero and picked up some beautiful steaks. I was able to use a $5 coupon from their ad. Shopping with the scanning cart when great. The screen shows a running total and even the discount from my coupon. For the bad; I could not get a cart so my son went outside to wait for someone to unload theirs. There are not enough of the scanning carts. When he finally came back with the cart, I had to transfer everything so that was a hassle. On my way out I was stopped by employees who told me I can not take the cart out. I told them my son just got it from outside. Anyway, I had to take all of my groceries out of the scanning cart and find another cart to put them in so that I could leave the store. I am 70 years old and those 12 packs of Coke are heavy. Three employees were guarding the door so that I wouldn't take the cart out and not one of them offered to help me transfer the groceries! Darn shame. Also I had brought my Amazon return to customer service. This is a long story so I'll just say they screwed it up even though I specifically questioned them to make sure that they got all of the items scanned because I didn't think they had. Two days later and I am still trying to get my refund. I called Amazon customer service and they want me to wait until the return is received by whomever they send it to. My app still shows "return started" and they are waiting for me to return it. I'm sure it will work out but it is frustrating especially when I specifically asked them if they had scanned my item because I didn't see them scan it. Now I keep checking to see if my refund is there and I will have to make another call to customer service. I do think these are just new store problems. The uniqueness of this store is the scanning cart. They need to supply enough of them or I am not lured to choose this store over the many closer options I have. read more

The manager working today has no customer service no, no bedside manner, and either their system is severely flawed, or his knowledge of the system is severely flawed. The worker typed in the wrong amount of cash that I handed them, couldn't figure out how to edit it without re-scanning all of my items. I had a very large cart. I also had my nine week old and two year-old with me, my mother had already brought my children to the car, put all the groceries in the car. While, the manager stood with his back to me ignoring me for 15 minutes, not giving me any information as to what was going on and then told me we had to re-scan everything because he couldn't figure out his System. My first time shopping at Amazon Fresh store in person since I was nearby for an appointment. I only needed a handful of items, but upon browsing I kept finding items I regularly use at great prices. Everyone I interacted with was very friendly and super helpful. After I got home, I compared the prices on my receipt with the prices at my neighborhood grocery store, and WOW I saved 55%!! Plus, several items were in larger packages. I might just have to make the trek to Elk Grove more often if I can save that much again. read more

The grocery prices are competitive if not better than major grocery chains. The staff is helpful and the self checkout and cart checkout functionality is sometimes excellent and other times substandard. What irritates me the most is the regular loss of wifi and cell connectivity in the Elk Grove store (Even the staff complains about it). Secondly the take and bake pizzas are the absolute worst! Surely you can get a better product than cardboard like pizza. read more

This market was depressing. There was barely any items on the shelves and the produce was not fresh. The prepared food did not look good in the plastic packaging. It felt like trying to shop for food at a convenience store. To add insult injury the prices on some items are higher than other stores. My stars are for the cart technology and the nice employees. Thought I would try the new Amazon Fresh. I placed a grocery order to be delivered between 6-8. Received an email stating the order was delayed until 8:15. At 8:21, Amazon canceled my order. I tried contacting them to see to find out exactly where their customer service department is located....I'm a senior & have problems with crowds and walking long distances....I found a phone number on the web (an 800 #), that connected me with the regular customer service department for Amazon....not the Amazon Fresh store....apparently, there is no phone # for the actual store. First time at an Amazon Fresh store and it was a horrible experience. Purchased a box of Barilla lasagna noodles and when I boiled them, they started to shred into thin noodles. While it was boiling I can see score marks and they started to split at those markings. Looking at the box, there' was a sticker that was removed that looked liked a return label when you order from the online store. Something must've been wrong with the item. So disappointing. Not to mention, I was already annoyed by the high prices of the store. Everything is like $1-2 more than other places. Also, the lady at the entrance did not know how to explain to us how the store works so we walked around like idiots then was told at checkout, we had to use the self checkout. There was also a woman waiting at the "grab and go lane" to check receipts and purchases. LOL. Isn't the point to grab and go? BTW, to be able to do that you have to use their specialized shopping cart! Overall, it seems like a gimmick and everything is so dam pricey. Why bother going there when there's multiple stores near that area that sells the same items cheaper? Won't be returning to that location or any other Amazon Fresh locations. read more

Went today for the daily deal from the deli. Whole pizza and 12 pack of soda. I'm waiting at the counter and an employee is standing on the other side of the counter and he says "what do you want"? Not, Hi, can I help you. I said I wanted to order a pizza and he says "no, we are not making pizza today". I replied it's your daily deal today. He says " I said we aren't making pizza today"! We will never purchase from Walmart again!! We went here yesterday, and to be honest, I was feeling overwhelmed as I'm disabled and my wheelchair‍ sometimes doesn't fit through isles but, the entrance was nice and wide the aisles were spacious and it was so clean, smelled clean the employee's were actually kind and super helpful. The most shocking part was how amazing the quality was, and the prices were super affordable. They need an ADA accessible bathroom for disabled people in wheelchairs or a family size bathroom, but other than that, we love this place, we were shocked to find out at checkout that the same groceries we normally pay for at Walmart were more affordable!!! You know I can't recall the last time the word affordable uttered out of my mouth since the pandemic started but I wholeheartedly enjoyed our experience at the Amazon Fresh store in Elk Grove. I would have given a zero if I could. Went in there to purchase an item on sale (everything is expensive here). The sale was no longer available (only the 3rd day). Found another item that I would like to buy. Took it to the self checkout. Couldn't scan the tag because the scan doesn't work. Asked someone for help. She did it and showed me the price. I wanted to pay cash for it but was told that I have to take it to the cashier. This place is really a joke. It was disappointed every time I had been there. I will never shop there again! Thankful I have another Amazon place close by to pick up groceries when I can't go in the stores. Today was probably the most frustrating day of all I've done Amazon pick up. Ordered my groceries at 5:44pm for pick up between 8-9pm. I got a notification at 7:48pm stating they were running late. Normally I'm okay with this because it's usually no more than 30 minutes. Tonight it took more than an hour after my chosen pick up time & I was in the area ready to go back home. I went to the store and spoke with Lisa D and the Manager, Rashann. They understood my frustrations and explained to me why it was running so behind. I appreciate the two of them for not only meeting me half way with my order but for being very helpful and patient. It goes a long way when you have someone willing to give great customer service and not be nasty with you as a customer. I did walk out with my order after speaking with them. I love using them as a mom of a toddler and it's so convenient. It's a nice location and almost always has everything I need. I give 4 stars because Amazon can help out their locations more by allowing more hiring times to avoid issues that arise. read more

I went there to check it out the other day. The positive: well organized, wide aisles, uncrowded and good looking produce. The negative: prices seemed high (especially for meat) and meat quantities were small (one, maybe two small steaks to a package) and the selection was limited. I didn't buy anything because I was specifically looking for meat. My impression is that its target audience shops frequently, buys smaller quantities and who doesn't want to spend the time it takes to shop in a typical supermarket. read more

The cashier has no customer service personality at all. She's rude, never smiled and not very helpful.
