Ive been a customer here for years. Everyone is always so nice and they enjoy their jobs. Yesterday I went in for a sandwich at the deli. Bel Air and Raleys have the best deli sandwiches. I was helped by a young lady named Laura. She said she had been working in the deli for a few weeks. She was so accommodating and nice. Its rare to find these days. Her customer service is amazing and I sure hope someone see's this because she deserves a pat on the back. The fact that she made me two amazing sandwiches was just icing on the cake. The deli department like all of the store was so clean. I feel silly having not reviewed this store sooner since Ive been a customer here for nearly 20 years. This is specifically for the deli department, you could tell they had been really busy and they still greeted me and made me feel welcome, which is hard to do after a rush. Where do I begin? It's bad enough prices are high and produce isn't great. We get to the register, no one in line and 3-4 employees standing around talking. One comes to the register while the others continue their visit. We bag our own groceries, since it's obvious we can't interrupt the conversation. On our way out, I ask for the manager. Should I be surprised he was part of the group that couldn't be bothered to provide assistance or get his team to do their job? Last time I purchase anything from this location. read more

I eat lunch there frequently, I see Shillegah frequently and every time I come into her proximity she is very rude and short with me. I personally think she needs to be coached up. She has 0 customer service skills. She can tell I am different and talks to me in a demeaning way. I have had a difficult time since I have been awake from my coma and she doesn't make it any easier. The staff at this location has terrible customer service. Maybe it's just the morning staff, because that is when I usually visit. Still, I've witnessed staff being rude to customers or people on the phone, then talking badly about them amongst themselves in front of other customers. They are nicer to each other than they are to customers, even with those who are kind and polite. Beyond that, the produce section is awful. The quality isn't great, and there's always a shortage of something. I wish I could continue shopping here because it's convenient, but unfortunately, I've had to move on to another store that is a bit out of the way but offers better service and fresher produce. read more

I've been going to the Waterman Rd. Bel Air since it opened and I go often for groceries and my medication, and today is the last time I will spend my money there. The customer service at this location is horrible. They rarely have employees to bag your groceries. Today I bagged my own (not a huge issue), but when the checker asked me how many bags I used so he can charge me 30 cents was a little much. I mean I don't work for Bel Air, if you're gonna charge me then do the work. Based on the number of 1 star reviews it's obvious Bel Air management doesn't take the customer service issues seriously since nothing has changed. read more

Stopped by here to grab artichoke/spinach dip. I don't live in the area and there is another one closer to me but I was in the area for ColdStone. It is in the same lot. My disappointment is they don't have the bigger dips/spreads that Walmart/costco have. Their sizes are half the size so I bought two. At about 230PM on a Friday, the Dutch bread looked good but upon touch, it was not warm so I did not buy any. I wonder what time they come out at. I would love some fresh baked warm ones. Man this bel air is not helpful to people at all, so rude, lack of communication etc. I Called and ask for a bunch of items to see if they still had it in stock and I was told over the phone "yes we do indeed have those in stock it'll be on aisle 1,10,13" When I arrived there, there wasn't literally none of the items I was told was there, the manager Greg was such a smart mouth saying "well if it isn't there it isn't there I don't have control of the people over the phone I'm sorry they didn't know if certain items are there" I understand his point of view but there wasn't any need to add extra smart mouth words telling me what to do next time, I called on the phone to save time. I understand that things are more expensive now. However, if I am forced to pay higher prices, Bel Air could at least make sure that I am not buying expired food. My husband just came back from a grocery run and came home with a bag of baby carrots that expired TWO DAYS AGO. The carrots started developing a white coating. This is only one complaint I have with Bel Air. Their shelves are not stocked, and we struggle to find milk, bread, vegetables, etc. I need to find a better store even if I have to travel further away. Bel Air is not what it used to be. Just moved here recently and happy to find a very neatly stocked and clean grocery store! All the food is packaged well and nicely placed. Workers here acknowledge you with a smile! Perhaps the only negative I have is the quality of pastries at their bakery, other wise 4 stars! read more

Time after time I've patronized this store because it's the closest one to me. They lack care with the products on their shelves!!! Besides trying to push food the past dates, their produce continue to be sub-par! They must get the apples at a discount because they are ALL spongy!! Yes! They don't enforce masks. They claim that they can't force their customers to wear masks. Heck! Not all of he employees don't wear theirs masks properly as their noses are exposed!!! They don't even wipe down the counters or keypads after each customer! I highly doubt that all carts are wiped down correctly. With a new variant of the virus, they are not enforcing precautionary measures to keep the spread down. read more

We have been Bel Air customers for over 40 years. We have been customers of this particular store since it opened over 20 years ago. The checkers are great. However, the produce is sub par at best. Packaged greens tend to still be on the shelves. I always need to go through and check the expiration dates. They do not keep their shelves stocked. It like they are still in pandemic mode. I complained about this around a year ago and the store manager called me and explained that he was having issues with the night crew not stocking the shelves at night. I find it hard to believe this is the issue. last straw was this morning when my husband went in to buy a few things. None of the check out lanes were open with cashiers. All of the customers were forced to go through the self check lane. cashiers were there to assist the customers to check them through self check but not one cashier was allowed to open up a regular lane. I will no pay the high prices Bel Air charges to check and bag my groceries myself. We will be moving on to another grocery store. read more

The store has really gone down hill. It was dirty and grimy at the self check outs - like the surfaces hadn't been sanitized or wiped down in days - very gross with died milk and smears all over everything. Not good when buying food! The floors are filthy. The shelves are not stocked well and half the items I went there for were completely gone (half and half). The produce didn't look very good. Can't tell if they just don't stock things well for fear they can't sell it since it's gotten so pricey or what. Just not a pleasant experience going in there anymore. Sad. I live down the street but only come here for emergency purposes. Their prices are usually quite expensive. Their meat department is kind of sad. Not much selection. I came in today for some limes real quick to make some margaritas. Thought I'd look over their tequila selection. Usually their liquor is overpriced but they did have a $45 bottle that was decently priced but it was in a locked cabinet. Had to find a clerk to unlock it. Then had to wait for the clerk to get the keys. Once unlocked we came up to the two open check stands which had long lines. I asked the clerk to walk me through the self checkout which had no lines & he told me I couldn't buy it in self checkout. I had to wait in the long lines if I wanted to buy it. Forget that! I told him no, purchased my limes in self checkout. Bel Air...you could of had a $48 sale but instead got a $3 sale due to your stupid rules & terrible staffing. This review is for the floral department. I used the floral department for my wedding bouquets, boutonnières, corsages, head table center pieces and bulk floral for my other centerpieces. Katie was awesome throughout the whole process and was always keeping me up to date on the status. When I seen the floral that was put together for me I was shocked at how absolutely beautiful it was. It exceeded all of my expectations. Beautiful floral for half the price of a florist. I love having a small grocery store that's walking distance from the neighborhood. It's convenient, they have a more efficient/organized e-cart process than the others I've tried, and the have a decent variety for the size. They are a little higher priced overall but I'm usually going there for convenience vs. a full blown Costco size order. When you use their e-cart, they usually have some clipless coupons associated with your account. If your family birthdays are in the system, I've noticed that you usually get a free hallmark card, personal cupcake, and cake mix during your birthday month. As for the bakery, I typically don't enjoy the taste of general grocery store/big box store sheet cakes and used to steer clear. However, after trying Bel Air on a short notice request, this location is my go-to when I need reasonably priced semi-custom baked goods. They have a number of options including different fillings (some with fresh fruit)/frosting types and the staff is great at helping you find a way to create your vision with what they have to work with. I have run into a few situations where they are short staffed and it takes a minute to place your order or ask questions but they always pleasantly acknowledge that you've been waiting and are super friendly when taking care of you. If you know what you want, you can also order online to avoid the wait altogether. read more

When I arrived at the cashier and started putting my items on the counter the white young man was complaining about me putting the item there, and said it was a hassle and tell me to just leave it in the cart. Putting the item in the counter for them is inconvenience when it's next by them? He was rolling his eyes to me too, so rude. They find the job that much of a hassle then they shouldn't be working there in the first place. Instead of commenting so much just do your job and stop giving attitude to customers. Manager should fired this man, or look in this matter. Definitely, make me not want to shop at Bel-air no more! No one should be treated this way when their spending money in this place. read more

This store is very close to my house so we frequent it quite a bit. Today, I wanted to buy the half pies that were on sale and unfortunately, there were no berry ones, which is what we wanted. I asked a young man in the bakery if there were anymore and he told me that none were baked that day. He then offered to cut a full berry pie and when I told him there were none on the shelves, he said that, AGAIN, none were baked that day. It was only 12:00 in the afternoon!!! He actually said if I came back the NEXT DAY, they would have some ready. I'm not going back tomorrow...I was hoping to have the berry pie today! I don't know who the person is who is in charge of the bakery area but, they need to go. When there's a sale on any item, the shelves should be filled and or ready to stock. This isn't the first time something like this happened at this particular store and I know there could be some issues that pop up, but I highly doubt this is what happened. I'd like to be able to depend on my local store for whatever it is we need. I'm not blaming the young man who I spoke with...he was very apologetic. The workers are only as good as their supervisors...and it appears this supervisor has checked out. The sign placements for sale items are continously misleading. If you can't fit the sale sign directly under the sale product, either move the sign or move the product, or just don't put the sign up at all. The sale signs often don't align with the skus at the register. I have to take pictures to show the cashiers at check out, even walking back to take those pictures myself. The app doesn't work. One time they wouldn't give me the sale price because their app wasn't working. Reliance on the app is also bad for older customers who don't use smart phones. Some staff members care about the customer shopping experience, some managers there don't. This store is close to me, but I drive farther to shop elsewhere when I can. read more

I love you guys and chicken it's awesome but I thought all of the Bel-Air's 8 pieces for 8.99 or seven for 899 I go there yesterday defined out that I got eight pieces of chicken for $26 they charge by the pound that's crazy I'll just keep going to work I normally go by my house I just bought that was kind of crazy and then disturbed the person really didn't know how to do help out at the service station it was very crazy took like 10 minutes can you do them I used to cards and didn't work because it kept freezing up so I was very pissed off about that to spend $26 on six pieces of chicken that were basically over cooked and everything It was just crazy and I was pushing for time but everybody else is cool and everything it was just it took me 10 minutes for me to get my check and rung up and the person really didn't know what they were doing so I'm really frustrated I won't be coming back to this one but I'll just stay where I normally go read more

I only come here for emergency purposes, even though I live close by. Their prices are super expensive. I was just in there today & Wow! $6.99lb for pork baby back ribs? $5.99 for St. Louis cut? And that's on sale supposedly @ $1.00 off per pound. Lol! Who pays these prices? I can literally go to Chili's and get a rack fully cooked and served to me for almost the same price as what they want for a raw rack. I just paid $3.59 a pound for St. Louis cut the other day at Costco and that was overpriced imo. Nice enough store. Stock is a little lacking these days with supply issues & such. Again, we were visiting another town for softball and we went to the local grocery store to shop for our all day event needs. The pricing was great. We also visited the bathrooms (because softball park bathrooms are gross) and the bathrooms were clean. The cashier was very upbeat and friendly. She explained her point system to us and wasn't uptight when we asked if Bel Air was similar to a safeway or savemart. The prices however are similar to a safeway/savemart... Still a great and standard stop for quick needs and essential ingredients in a pinch and on the fly. Prices are a tad high. Customer service remains solid. The pharmacy and staff are great. Produce is solid and variety of ingredients continues to improve. Meat department is adequate it's just standard in essentials for fish, poultry and red meat. The biggest improvement on the shelves has been with the liquor area. Prices are again in the high side but the selection of local and craft beers as well as local, regional and import wines is impressive for a grocery chain. In addition the spirits selection has shown great improvement with craft and high end products in addition to the usual offering. Certainly a store that hits the spot on very many levels. A long way from being one stop all in. Then again it's as close as anyone else gets In my book. read more

Went in there on Thanksgiving, there were at least 4 people with no mask. Went in again today, 2 people with no mask. Really discouraging and scary to see that they don't care enough to not allow people that could infect innocent shoppers with COVID in. This place is RIGHT next to my house. Really should walk over here more but hey, I'm lazy. This is our go to grocery store. Sure, it can run a little pricey but you are paying for the quality of products they carry. Produce section is always on point, staff are super friendly, meat department could be a bit more expansive but they have the most INCREDIBLE pepper bacon that will turn you off all other bacon for the rest of your days. Also the craft beer selection is improving all the time. With Total Wine in town now they are managing to still meet most of my needs for my favorite beers! read more
