Fortunately, I wasn't followed around. They had a decent variety of products; however, not as much as Richway or even Beauty 21 (which isn't Black-owned, but the store has a large variety and I'm usually greeted). Prices here are about the same as most beauty supply stores. You need to purchase $5 worth of products to use a credit/debit card. I was thanked for my purchase, but not told to have a good day. I probably won't return unless I absolutely needed something and couldn't make it out to Richway or even Beauty 21 in time. I would have preferred to spend my money at Richway.

The store is a bit musty, old looking, and derelict. It's no secret JCPenny is on the down swing - this bargain department store has some die hards among the boomers but it's not popular with younger folks. Still, they do have some good sales and cute clothing if you're willing to browse. I only went upstairs to the second floor home section to try to find these pillows. I found them, woooo, and for two it was $230 (insane I know but they're amazing) - the sticker said what looked to be buy one get one free as well as a 35% teacher discount my husband had. So we tried to verify if the signage was right and the coupon could be used. I walked the entire upstairs looking for a register to check/pay and couldn't find one or a single employee working up there. So I had to carry these huge pillows to the first floor - again - walking all around looking for an employee and a place to pay. The ladies at jewelry checked the price but said they had no idea about the sale and couldn't help me - I'd have to go stand in line and they pointed to the SINGLE register for the entire store apparently with like 12 people in line.
