Before I begin, I want to acknowledge my own role in this experience. In hindsight, I should have trusted my instincts and refrained from proceeding with the service given my known sensitivity. That said, I do feel it's important to share my experience to help others make an informed decision. At the start of my appointment, I informed the stylist that I have sensitivities and have required sensitive glue in the past. She paused to check, then returned and said they did not have any on hand. I expressed my concern, but she reassured me that most clients believe they're sensitive when the real issue is usually application technique. She also mentioned her experience and skill level, which gave me enough comfort to proceed. Immediately after the service, I noticed a burning sensation in my right eye and mentioned it. She gave me a fan to help soothe it and reassured me it would subside. Unfortunately, by the next morning, I had a swollen left eye and a stye something I've never experienced before. Later that day, my right eye became irritated and pink, and I was diagnosed with pink eye. Both eyes were red, irritated, and uncomfortable for what was supposed to be a special occasion my birthday. As I write this, I am still dealing with discomfort and unable to have the lashes removed because I'm out of town. I plan to have them professionally taken off as soon as I return. While I don't place full blame on the stylist, I do believe this situation could have been avoided with clearer communication, more transparency about product availability, and perhaps erring on the side of caution when a client expresses concern. Not worth it!! I have gotten my lashes done so many times before. I took a break to let my lashes grow back and decided to try out this Amazing Lash studio in River Oaks. The Lash tech said I had to get used to the glue again... LMAO what??? Who the heck says that! I have never had this issue before with any other lash tech. Worst Lash Experience - Absolutely Unacceptable I've been getting my lashes done for over 10 years, and this was hands down the worst experience I've ever had. From the moment I walked in, everything about this appointment was unprofessional and disappointing. The lash tech, Vivian--who is supposed to be a master stylist--greeted me with, "Hi, nice to meet you," as if she had never done my lashes before, despite having worked on me previously. While I can understand not remembering every client, I assumed my profile would include notes about the style I had gotten before. When I asked the front desk what was on my profile, I was told there were no notes--not even from the previous three times I had been there in the last couple of months. Vivian's attitude and approach to the appointment were unacceptable. She had absolutely no patience and came off as annoyed the entire time. She was slamming tools onto the table, rushing through the process, and being so aggressive that I couldn't even relax. Normally, I look forward to a lash appointment as a time to unwind, but I couldn't even close my eyes comfortably because I felt her poking and prodding so harshly. At one point, she actually poked me in the eye with the tweezers, leaving a visible spot and irritation that I'm still dealing with even an hour later. Not worth your time, money or lord forbid your eyes! Tina is the worst!!! Do yourself a favor and do not go to Amazing Lash at River Oaks. Seriously, the absolute worst service, customer care and technician all in one. Call your friends, gets referral to a reputable eyelash tech instead. I will explain below and yes, there's pictures. I had never had my lashes done before but I decided to give it a go. It was a last minute decision before I went out of town that weekend so I decided to test my luck and try it, after all, River Oaks is a good area. Scheduled an "Introductory Full Set of Featherweight lashes". Upon arrival, they filled a little cup with foam and didn't say anything. I was so confused, so I asked and that's when they said to go wash my eyes. (But didn't bother to tell me where the restroom was, but okay, not a big deal.) Then the tech, Tina (remember the name!!) takes me to her room and asks me "What do you want?" Again, I said, I don't really know, it's my first time. She was not helpful, nor was she offering any type of advice or guidance. So I texted my friend and she told me what to get. I laid down and she started placing all of the tapes on my face. Soon my eye started to burn so bad. I asked her if that was normal and she didn't even say a word to me, just ignored me and continued to lay the lashes. Every time she put her hand on my cheek to lay a lash extension, my eye hurt SO BAD, until finally I raised my arm and said enough! This hurts really bad!! She didn't even acknowledge my concern at ALL. just continued on to the other eye. This eye was not so painful, so I was really confused. The appointment was supposed to be 90 minutes but she literally started at 6:22pm and finished by 7:10pm. A full set. I asked the front desk if it's supposed to hurt so bad, she said "oh it's just your first time" and dismissed my concern. I paid (and even tipped still) and out the door I went. I sat in my car trying to clear my vision again since the burning made everything blurry. I saw reviews that said it's supposed to be relaxing, and some people even fall asleep. I couldn't understand how?? I have a high pain tolerance, but when I say I wanted to cry, I am not kidding. It felt like I was getting my eyeball cut in half! Turns out TINA put the tape incorrectly and it was too close to my eye. So much so that it was super blotchy and red with a scratch on what is supposed to be the white part of my eye for DAYS afterwards!! On top of that, the lashes were soooo thick and super hard! Again, my understanding is that featherweights were light?? So after much research and going to get a second opinion from other Amazing Lash Studios, this is what happened. 1. The tape was WAY too close to my eyeball. Getting Lash extensions should never be painful!! Tina should have known something was wrong. 2. They used the old synthetic lashes because and I quote "I did not specify what kind of lashes I wanted." Even though my appointment was SPECIFICALLY for featherweights and they never even asked me what type of lashes I wanted. (I will insert a picture of my appointment.) 3. The lash placement was terrible. Some of the extensions were ON my lid. Not even on the lash line. 4. The lashes had too much glue and were clumped together. Some were too close to my skin and caused pain. 5. The poor tech who remove them had a miserable time, and now my real lashes are absolutely DESTROYED!!! 6. I saw Tina after I got them removed and I told her what she did to my eye and my lashes, and told her how much damage she did and how she needs to be better or not do this type to work. People's eyesight is not something to play with and should be taken seriously. No apology, not even the least bit of remorse from one single person. I was told the manager would call me, so I gave it over a week and I never got a call. Which goes to show just how terrible their customer service is. Leaving one star because zero is not an option. Although, I give Heaven 10 stars, the hassle with their "membership" isn't worth perfect lashes. Plus, if anyone else does your lashes, you'll hate them! Haven't officially been a member for 9 months. That is, cancelled my membership 9 month ago. Then 2 months ago, officially cancelled again by filling out yet another paper form after numerous calls when they charged my credit card yet again. I had never been to this amazing lash location before, but was not surprised with my fantastic experience. Amazing lash, as a company, values quality services for their clients and never settles for less. I was welcomed into the studio by the receptionist, Hailey, who was very knowledgeable about the different styles, weights and lengths of the lashes and ensured that all of my questions were answered so that i left with exactly what i wanted (my previous sets were still beautiful, but i was hoping for something with a little more flare on the ends). Sarah, the stylist, was fantastic! She told me that she thought the size i had in mind would be a bit too heavy for my eyes, so she encouraged me to go down one thickness level- I'm so glad i listened to her! They look fantastic! She was quick yet meticulous and made sure they looked perfect before i left. She completed my set in about an hour and a half and i could not have been happier with my experience! The stylist who did my lashes was completely unpleasant but I brushed it off bc what matters to me is if the lashes are done well. I left with burning in my eyes which she said was normal and it isn't. I had extreme pain from these lashes, they were hard and poking the skin above my lash line. I called to ask if I could come in to have someone look at it bc I was sure it wasn't done properly. They said no, that they would have charge me more! Long story short I went to Chic Lash Boutique to have them fixed and they said that there was SO much glue and that they were not isolated properly and they were done incorrectly, I had them removed and it's costing me twice as much to have it all redone properly. Stay FAR FAR away from this place ! After two years and several bad experiences today I finally had enough and canceled my membership . Not only is there only one stylist I would actually go to but The customer service is awful . I'm editing this review after I initially posted because the the "manager" or owner posted below Hanh is LYING that I was 20 minutes late for my appointment and thinks it's appropriate to attack s customer on line . If she took the time to check the tapes she would see that I walked in the door at approximately 4:51 pm and was turned away by her RUDE staff . This solidifies my decision to leave Amazing lashes and now gives me more background to tell every person who asks me about my lashes where they should NOT go . Now I see where they get if from . This is an atrocious way to run a business . Today , I was at the hospital visiting my sister and believed my appointment was at 4:50 instead of 4:40 . EXACTLY 4:50 on the dot (see attached picture) the text me to tell me my appointment was canceled because I was a "no show" and a 100% fee would be charged. I immediately called them , apologized and walked in at 4:51 to speak to the manager . The "manager" I don't know her name but a horrible, blond woman who knows nothing about customer service , had an atrocious attitude . She berated me in the front for being 11 minutes late, even after I explained I made a mistake and REFUSED to let me see my stylist . She even lies to the owner about our conversation . When my technician walked out and tried to take me in the back the manager saying it was not a problem still refused to let me have my appointment but she wanted to charge me for it ! I told her I did not mind having a short session since I was being charged and she said I would have to reschedule but she would just charge me 50% ($28) . What a scam ! I tried to reason with her several times , telling her that on various occasions I had been asked to come in late , rescheduled or made to wait up to 20minutes for my appointment and she replied that "we will only accommodate you if we made the mistake ." When I pointed out her backwards thinking was absurd , I said I would cancel my membership of TWO and a half YEARS if I could not see my stylist who I had already paid for for a "mini refill" At this point it was obvious that this over glorified and inexperienced"manager" wanted to have a pissing contest because she literally took out a contract cancellation and put it on the counter for me to sign . Upon doing so I asked her if she would rather lose accustoms who spends an average of $165 a month with them and have me tell every person I meet about my experience and she honestly didn't care . When I asked for the franchise owners contact information to see if she would agree with losing a customer over this the manager refused to give me contact information . . I absolutely cannot fathom being a business owner and having an employee treat customers so poorly . Their prices are absurd , the turnover of employees is very high and every single technician I have had with the exception of one was awful (lashes falling out , eyes stinging etc) Not to mention, that several employees have mentioned that the owner refuses to pay them over time or time and a half for hours worked which is why there is a high turn over rate amongst employees . I sincerely hopes someone reports them to the Texas work force commission . I will gladly take my business to another more professional and customer oriented salon . In the mean time I hope if you are considering this salon , please heed my warning and go elsewhere where the managers ego does not get in the way of customer service . They advertised in the store and asked that anyone who writes a good review will get $10 discount per review on Yelp and Facebook, etc. So I wrote a good review. The funny thing is that they lied about the review, they refused to give me discount on both reviews and gave me only $5 off when I went in for the refill. When I went in for the free repair, they cancelled my appointment because the stylist was traveling. After spending three hours in traffic, they told me there was nothing to repair and sent me home. Just say no to "Amazing" Lash Studio. I came here for a fill last minute because the stylist I had an appointment with at the Midtown location threw a fit over me asking her to perform hand hygiene. Tina, supposedly a Master Stylist whom I paid extra for, did my volume hybrid fill in 35-40 minutes (very rushed). Throughout the appointment my eyes were watering more than usual because she didn't take the time to properly tape them closed (realized this only in hindsight). I mentioned the burning more than once and she made little to no adjustment, just threw a fan in my face for 10 seconds. By the end of the appointment, my eyes were so red and watery I could barely look at the work but mentioned they looked too full, she replied "they're pretty"; but I clearly asked for a an everyday less dramatic look at the start of the appointment. Once I got home after multiple rounds of eye drops, I saw my two eyes were very uneven, one way more full than the other. I went back for a revision with another stylist and she was sweet but clearly couldn't help much. During my next fill with an actually competent stylist at another location, the appointment went 20 minutes over because the poor woman had to remove so much of Tina's botched job and and explained to me how and why it was so horrible. Basically Tina didn't isolate my natural lashes at all. Just clumped glue and stacked extension after extension on top of the other. It made sense then why many of my natural lashes had been ripped out by the root with the extensions and I could feel sharp poking sensations the entire time I wore Tina's work, it was so uncomfortable! If you care at all about your natural lashes (which at the very least you need for the extensions to attach to) don't let Tina touch them with a ten foot pole! I'm now using a pricy lash serum and Lashify at home lash system to rehab my natural lashes. Loving Lashify so much I'll likely never go back to extensions. read more

My sister went in for a full set for her baby shower and she was going in to get her first time lash set, which is advertised to be $69.99 they charged an extra $85 and although the lashes look fine the pricing was not disclosed by Christina, never have I ever spent more than $100 on lashes, technicians should be advised to disclose pricing if people are asking about styles or add on's very disappointing and will not be going back! read more

I have been a member since 2014. I have requested to transfer my membership to Austin when I moved, but I guess it never happened. At my appt today at another location, I was notified that my membership has been cancelled (without any notification to me) and was never transferred. Because of this, I can't sign a new contract at the grandfathered rate of $45.99 and now have to pay $59.99 a month. Upon calling this location, I was told all of the Houston locations have cancelled the grandfathered memberships and now charge the new rate. However, the Austin location that I requested to be transferred to actually honors the grandfathered contract, but I can't get it now because of Houston's shady business practices. While I was in the waiting area in Austin, there was also another client waiting that just unexpectedly found out her Houston contract was cancelled and she was also at the grandfathered rate. Upon searching through my emails, looks like the Houston franchise took it upon themselves to transfer BACK TO HOUSTON all memberships that had transferred out. read more

First go for REFILLS w/ TINA she's amazing I've been going to her for almost 3 years now- way before they expanded and started doing those membership deals. And then they started charging an additional $10 because she's a Master. I still paid the upcharge because I know what I'm getting. It's $79 I believe for full set(I haven't needed one since the first time I came in 2012) and then the membership is $45.99/year, they take it out of your account (like a gym membership) on the 17th of every month. It's kind of complicated -if your appt is before the 17th- let's say the 16th then you will still have to pay at the end of your visit. And yes- you'll still get the $45.99 with drawn on the 17th and that credit will apply towards your next future visit. And so on and so on. And then tack on that $10 because Tina is a master stylist. Hey seriously you get what you paid for with her. Tina this super sweet awesome tiny Asian lady-she takes her time and goes through my lashes throughly. My lashes last up to 2.5-3weeks before my next booking. I try to avoid a rubbing my eyes and getting them wet for 2 days in the shower after they are applied on. After the two days I get wipe them gently, you have to remember your lashes do get weaker as the hairs fall out and grow back. Granted some do fall out on the first day but all lashes do- they are hair and hair grows back so don't freak out. Seriously if you make an appointment with Tina for REFILLs ( she doesn't do full set) you won't regret it. Book in advance, they take appointments at 9:30 am and you'll receive and automatic called 2 days prior to your appointment. And please give the respect and courtesy and show up on time for your appointments. Don't be rude and show up 15 mins late, that pushes all the others clients back because you're inconsiderate. The girls at the front are nice enough, there's one that's been there a while if I remember the name I'll edited, Hispanic girl she worked this morning 07/20/15 freakin sweet always greets you and is very polite. I started coming here about 2-3 months ago and referred by my coworker. Elizabeth has been great since I book my first appointment. Her and Karly always always nice once I get to the location. My to go person is Angeline and does a great job with my lashes each time. Until..... I had an appoint on the 28th of this month. I could not make it to the appointment so I called to reschedule my appointment. The lady offered that Thursday the 21st. I went to my appointment and was charged my monthly fee because it had not gone through. I agree, well on the 27th I received another charge for my monthly membership. I had to pay for a touch up when that was never mentioned to me at all and I was explained a completely different thing in person. Now I have to wait for the manager to get back and return my call. I asked when and was told they were not sure. I am going to call again because this is ridiculous. Now I am receiving texts that they have the wrong email address that if I not write my own information incorrectly. They sent me a screenshot and asked them to look at my email again. Turns out they were paying attention. I stopped at the location and was told that the manager was not there because she went to the Heights location. I called the heights location and the manager was gone for the day. I was told that it was not their fault the lady who booked me before my schedule date didn't let me know and that I am three weeks ahead with a credit. I asked how I can use my credit. They told me I could use it on my next appointment but I would still get charged for my regular monthly fee. So I don't think understand what that means and I will make sure to call on Tuesday at 3 because that's when the manager is scheduled to be at the river oaks location again. From mildly inconvenient to wildly unacceptable!! My eyelashes were originally put on by Nikki who was very nice. However, once the lashes were on there was a definite problem with the corner of my right eye. I was told that I would be booked with a different stylist to ensure the problem was fixed and to return in an hour. (I wasn't given a choice of which stylist fixed my lashes) When I returned for my appointment the experience went from just okay to a nightmare! The stylist came to the front and refused to acknowledge me at all, she stomped right passed me to the front desk and LOUDLY complained about having to take me. She literally yelled about how she didn't want me while I was sitting two feet away. The front desk ladies tried to reason with her and explained that I had an appointment. She made it very clear that she did not care and would not be taking me. She literally stomped passed me again and stormed into the back of the business!! It was SO embarrassing! I was looking a little rough because I was told not to wear makeup to the appointment, but this lady acted as though I was scum beneath her shoes. I was completely humiliated in the middle of the shop! The front desk lady even ran after her to try and convince her to come back and take me (literally everyone in the lobby could hear every word) and the woman still refused. I ended up having my lashes fixed by Nikki, but my experience here was so horrifying that I will not be back. My wedding is next month and I was planning on keeping up with my lashes so they'd be done for the wedding and honeymoon. I chose this location because it's the closest to my house, however I will never ever visit any Amazing Lash Studio again. I can understand a slight mistake when trying a new service for the first time, but the rampant unprofessionalism and mistreatment of clients just isn't worth the convenience of location. I had a lot of damage to my natural lashes from getting the fake lashes for too many months, and after I took a few months off (I froze my account for three months to try to grow my lashes back) when I returned I asked if I could only be charged for a refill since i only wanted five lashes on each side (to ease gently back into fake lashes) they refused. First the manager (Emma) said it was "impossible" to only put five lashes on each eye. Then she said her computer wouldn't let her book a refill (59$) I'd have to book a full set ($120+) even if I only wanted five lashes on each side. Then Emma the manager accused me of going elsewhere during my three months off. (Hello? I froze my account because my lashes we so damaged there was almost nothing to put the fake lashes on) Such poor customer service. Ultimately I just canceled my membership. This wasn't the first issue I'd had. There were billing issues, lash stylists not shown up for there shifts, rude employees, the list goes on... Happy to no longer deal with them. That's right they don't tell you this when signing up but you can't ever never ever quit. You can put your membership "on hold" for six months but you will always be a member and by always be a member meaning you will pay fees wether you use their service or not. I asked what if I don't want to do this anymore? They said, you can't quit, you can only put your membership on hold and you are only allowed to do this three times after that you will always be charged with these fees monthly. Besides the slightly below average lashes, that are only filled barely 70% of the way, this place has HORRIBLE customer service. Let's explain: While signing up for their "membership program" (i.e. license to torment you for the end of your days) on my first visit, I was rushed through the paperwork to "just sign, just sign" as my lash lady was standing there waiting for me. After possibly 3-4 times going, trying both master and normal stylists, I was not satisfied with the quality and found a new lash studio. It happens, no big deal, that should have been the end of it. Nope. I had just moved as well and called to cancel to explain I wasn't satisfied and moved to a new studio. They told me there was a $60 membership cancelation; or "one month refill", uh, no that was never explained to me while signing up, and I'm not paying for a refill that I will not use or agree to. They said it was in the paperwork; you mean the paperwork you jostled me through to signsignsignsign so I wouldn't put you behind? Oh, right. Not happening. So after asking to speak with the manager "we do not have a manager at this location" (uh, what?) then told they didn't have the phone number for the owner (again, what?) I was pretty peeved and the girl finally relented and said she would cancel it and waive the fee. Ok, great. Bye. Ugh. THAT should be the end of it. NOPE. The horror was just beginning. I keep getting charged. Every MONTH. I call, I complain, I explain, I am promised that THIS TIME, they will cancel it, and take my credit card OFF file. I file a dispute with my bank, charges are reversed, I am given a refund, THAT should be the end of it. NOPE. I was charged AGAIN. Is there NO STOPPING LASH STUDIO?! I am convinced now it is run by evil robots, plotting to take over the planet. How can I explain this further?! How can I get them to leave me alone?! It's going on 3 months, the evil that which is lash studio persists. I once AGAIN, dispute the changes, now CANCEL my card, and cry to my therapist about the trauma associated with being stalked by this entity. I have never gotten eyelash extensions before but I really like how my tech did them! they came out so good and my tech was so sweet. I am only writing this review because they are continuing to charge my fiance's credit card after MULTIPLE attempts to cancel services. Each time we address this issue with the manager, they claim they cannot refund charges already made even though we have requested for MONTHS to cancel our services. The reason we wanted to cancel ORIGINALLY in 2016 was because she had severe burns and swelling from the glue that they used. We thought the payments would be stopped for good last month and AGAIN THEY CHARGED US!!! This place needs to go out of business. NEVER NEVER NEVER use theIR HORRIBLE, UNTRUSTWORTHY, LYING SERVICES. We have told our credit card company to fight all charges and they will be receiving a letter from our lawyer for unauthorized charges and our time spent dealing with them. They go through managers regularly, so do not trust any "word" you get from anyone there (if they even give you any attention in the first place). This review is not about amazing lash - river oaks location but the amazing lash franchise The people at the amazing lash in river oaks have been great but the corporate office is another story. I have been a member of amazing lash for 4 1/2 years now and have been paying a reasonable monthly fee. Recently, I received an email that my monthly fee was no longer valid but that I would be charged an additional $15 per month. I understand inflation and that the monthly rate for new members has increased but I don't understand why longtime members rates are being raised as well. What is my incentive to stay at amazing lash when long term members get no perks anymore? I can go to any other lash studio and pay less. My technician and several others told me they are losing many long term clients and that even though the rates have increased for members, they have not received any increases in their pay. On my recent visit, I found out that the technician I have used for over a year is now considered a master stylist and on my next visit, if I want to keep her as my stylist, I have to pay an upcharge of $10 additional dollars! Now the cost of my membership has gone up $25 a month! This is totally unacceptable. There should be some incentive for long term clients to stay clients. Amazing lash needs to learn about how customer service works and that repeat business is the crux of their business. read more

They recently started a new tricky program to get money from all their customers. Now....no matter how your lashes look, if it has been 4 weeks or more, then they will charge you as a full set!! I pride myself in taking care of my lashes and they can last me around 5+ weeks and still be full. Too bad, now it doesn't matter what I do they are going to charge me more! It's ridiculous and annoying. Prices keep going up. Master fees keep going up. And now this?!?!?? Not to mention if I want to use a specific stylist and she is booked then I might be forced past the 4 week period. It seems like a scam. And the little 16 year olds running the counter don't exactly know what to say or do about all of this. read more

So this is an update review for this location. I came back from my Italy trip and was able to book another appointment with this location but with a different stylist. This time I had Kim whom is a Senior Stylist. I LOVE my lashes. I've been to one other Amazing Lash Studio that's mediocre. Kim perfected my lashes so well I'm hooked. I won't go to anyone else but her because every time I've gotten my lashes done by her I get loads of compliments. On top of that my lashes last FOREVER. This became my favorite location! read more

I've been going here for a little over a year now and I've always had amazing service. I personally have naturally short, icky lashes that are straight or have had a hard time curling (I used to have to apply heat to have them curl!) and ever since I've had these extensions, I can't see myself without them. Christina, the manager, takes care of her customers promptly and is really sweet! Hailey, a master stylist, is the best and is consistent in the way she does her lashes, whether it's a full set or refill. The experience itself is quite relaxing, they play soft classical music in the background, I look forward to my 45 minute nap once a month! I am willing to wait to have an appointment with Hailey, I never want to switch stylists! She knows what looks best on you and will cater her work so you look flawless. read more
